  1. Here's an example of what you get from the trigger smoke/fire:
  2. I noticed that the fire and smoke you can add via triggers on for instance a vehicle look a lot better and realistic then the stock one when you destroy a vehicle. When destroying a piece of armor, I think the default smoke lasts far too short and is also not visible enough. Are there any plans of changing this? Or do we have to use the smoke and fire from the triggers to achieve that result? Mud
  3. Heatblur, are there any plans of making this switch actually work in our beloved Tomcat? Cheers! Mud
  4. Early access is what is going on.
  5. UPDATE: Switching to the current runtime solves the issue. That's a shame though because running 1.3 allows for one to skip all the bloatware/home and save a decent amount of memory.
  6. Since update 2.5.6 it appears that DCS is no longer detecting my Oculus Rift CV1. DCS just starts up in normal monitor mode. No image is sent to my VR set. VR is enabled in DCS options. I am using the minimal Oculus runtime 1.3
  7. There was a post/blog some years ago where the founder of Belsimtek (I believe) went to the US to fly along in a UH-1. He is a former Mi-8 pilot himself. At some point he was allowed to take the controls in the UH-1 and I remember him mentioning that he needed to add more rudder in level flight than he expected.
  8. Move your controls through their entire range of motion.
  9. It's been a while since I looked at a track of my own, but in the past I was able to sometimes fix this problem by pausing at the start of the track replay, and doing a full wipeout of all my controls. So stick, rudder, throttle. Then unpause and let the track play.
  10. From what I can gather from natops: Engine crossbleed start on the ground can be accomplished with the throttle on the operating engine at or above idle rpm. However, when I try this, the left engine won't spool up unless I add quite some power on the right one. Procedure followed: - Ambient temperature 8 degrees C - Start right engine - Disconnect ground power and air - Air source set to right engine - Crank left engine Am I missing something? Best regards, Mud
  11. Was about to save it, thinking surely this has been reported already if it's a bug. So alas, I did not. I will try replicating it tomorrow if I have the time and I will report back.
  12. Today I tried ripple dropping two GBU-10's (inner wing stations) with a spacing of 10ft with tail fuse. Level and steady at 20000 MSL (15000 AGL) and as soon as they came of the pylons, I exploded. So the question is: bug or did I do something you're not supposed to do?
  13. The problem in DCS at the moment is that the trim increments are too big when using the stick. For instance in the P-51D it's pretty hard to get a proper trim without actually using the mouse and the trim wheels rather then the POV hat on the stick. I wish they would change, or give an option for the trim changes to be in smaller increments when pressing the POV hat briefly.
  14. I often stuggle fine-tuning the trim for most aircraft using the trim hat switch. In the P-51D for example, I am able to trim the plane much more precise by using the mouse on the rotary knobs. So what I would love to see implemented is an option to set the trim sensitivity. - A short press of the hat switch would do a smaller/finer trim adjustment - A long press would remain at the current setting. Best regards, Mud
  15. Is there a way to not have every briefing screen in DCS show the A-4 once this mod is installed? Edit: Found it myself. Deleting the following file takes care of it: ...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft\A-4E-C\ImagesGUI\briefing-map-default.png
  16. Any news on the F-16 style pedals, Milan? I have to admit I have gotten quite used to the WW2 style ones by now :)
  17. I would really like to see this corrected with the updates coming to the A-10C. It's been reported for years and I can hardly imagine it's hard to reverse the blinking / solid cross.
  18. My apologies. I had no idea you meant AI aircraft
  19. Just to set the record straight: All prop birds in DCS use piston engines, not turboprops.
  20. Thanks Knock-Knock! It would be great if we could pick a point on the map. Like put a camera placeholder in the map with some settings like angle, height, ...
  21. Nothing in today's change log about a fix.
  22. My appologies for bringing this thread back to live, but have you found a solution for this already? I have been trying to figure this out as well.
  23. Yeah, I 'm pretty sure it's not a Crosswind problem but rather a combination of old mobo + W10 + the Crosswinds.
  24. Anybody has had issues with the MFG Crosswinds causing Windows 10 to go into a reboot loop at start-up? Sometimes none, most often just one reboot and sometimes 2 after which Windows starts doing an auto-repair. Doing a quick google I did find other people reporting this problem.
  25. Mud

    A big THANK YOU!

Proper ATC, weather and dynamic campaign and DCS will be king with nothing to stop it.
