Thanks for that forward, Mower!

Anyone else have this issue? I have deleted the UH-1 folder in Mods and Bazar/Liveries and then ran a repair. No change. Not running any mods. Br, Mud Edit: Running the latest open beta

20.000 SEK is about 2.200 USD at the moment.

Oh, I didn't know that. I have the CV1 and when I take it off after a long flight, my eyes feel like I came home from a walk outside :) Edit: I do look like a racoon though for about an hour :D

It may not be in your scope, but going VR gives me zero eye-strain because your eyes focus further away than when looking at a monitor, or even to infinity when looking outside the cockpit.

Probably because the wiring for it isn't there ... yet.

This! I had a friend who put in a new card some months ago. His framerate was worse in non-VR than mine was in VR with a 1070. I asked him what card he has and saw it should have been faster than mine. Told him to do a driver cleanup and reinstall the driver. He went from 25fps to well over 60fps after doing that! Defenately worth a shot! Mud

CPU overclock - is it truely worth it for DCS?
Mud replied to sirrah's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not if you do it better than the system does it on auto. The VID will often request more voltage than is required, leading to higher VCORE voltage and temperatures than a manual overclock. -
CTRL + 1 on the num pad to turn ASW off

Dang, that sucks. Could be that the Oculus software needs to be updated by them to properly support the cards. In either case 40fps at 30% load does sound promising of what the card can achieve I think.

CPU overclock - is it truely worth it for DCS?
Mud replied to sirrah's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I do notice a difference and I also believe you should really overclock if you have bought a K CPU. I personally try to find the sweet spot, which is 4,8Ghz for my CPU. I would have liked to reach 5Ghz, but that requires a lot more voltage on my chip. Not worth the heat increase. I run it at a fixed voltage, which actually gives me lower temperatures and core voltage than it was at stock settings. It can be time consuming and a lot of trial and error to get there though. And if, like you said in your case, you don't notice any fps increase in DCS, then it might not be worth the time/effort. Br, Mud -
DX11 and on Gamers Nexus they stated that MSFS had 1 CPU core also maxed out at 100%.

I've noticed the same thing in the ocean on the Syria map. My water settings are set to high. I have yet to check if it's also present in the Persian Gulf or Caucasus maps.

From these aircraft, I only have a hard time with the Tomcat: A-10C F-16C F/A-18C F-14B

Well it took a while of mailing back and forth to get the proper parts ordered, but it did indeed solve the problem. Cost was €70 for the big black part, the ring which goes on top of it and a new ribbon cable which goes to the DIN connector. Took the whole stick apart and lubed it up with Nyogel 767A. Feels good as new now. In fact, better than new!

I tried out v3 today and it's pretty nice, but the burn/smoke times need to be upped by a lot imo. The v4 dust trails look amazing! Can't wait for those.

Welcome Atze! Learning and improving skills is a major fun factor for me. Been flying DCS since the A-10C was in beta in 2011 I believe, and still learning every day almost. And forgetting things as well, hahahah :) Enjoy your flights! Mud

+1 This has been brought up in the past a few times as well: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=253685 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=263005

I can confirm the same issue yesterday. Target: 4 tanks to be attacked with GBU12's My first two passes, no issues and two tanks destroyed. 3rd pass my TGP was locked onto the target, but the hud and CCRP queue were offset.

I think they're actually working properly, but quite sensitive to control inputs. Since you can override the AP without the paddle switch in the F-16, it appears to be modeled accurately apart from that. To elaborate: Say you are at 15k feet and enable ALT HOLD. 1) Pitch up and climb to 20k feet and center your controls again > the aircraft will descend back to 15k feet. 2) Use the paddle switch and climb to 20k feet > the aircraft will now hold altitide at 20k feet. At least that's how I understand the real Viper AP to function.

I believe the low damage from the 87´s has been confirmed and WIP.

Thanks for the tip, Sandman1330. Looks like this was my issue. I enabled the controls display in game and notice I had a slight pitch down bias. I used the TM Calibration tool to recenter my stick, and all is well now. What does remain a question now though is: you can overrule the AP without using the paddle switch and manouvre all you want, and the AP stays active. Once you recenter the stick, the AP carries on to where it should go.
-
I will test this tonight. I would expect my aircraft to go into a climb then though as my stick is slightly leaning backwards. Also, once you exceed the control input tolerance, does the AP switch return to the center then? Cause at least I can confirm already that the AP switch stays up in the ALT HOLD position on my tests so far.
-
Yeah, I am. I usually enable ATT Hold after take-off till I reach my desired altitude, and then level out and switch to ALT Hold. I've never had issues with the AP in DCS, or in the other well known F-16 sim. I really can't put my finger on it this time. :(

Nevermind my last post. I just flew another mission in the Persian Gulf and have the same issue there with the AP. Something must have gone wrong with my install I fear. I deleted the F-16 folder in Mods and Coremods and ran a repair already, but the issue persists. So bottom line: it is probably not an issue with the Nevada mission I posted earlier.
