  1. I missed that message. Thanks for the clarification! Edit: From NATOPS: With weight on the wheels and launch bar extended or the arresting hook DOWN, the afterburner lockout extends and the finger lifts must be raised or a force of approximately 32 pounds must be applied before the throttles can be moved to MAX.
  2. Does that mean that realism corners are being cut to make things more user-friendly? I would find that a darn shame:(
  3. To get into AB on the carrier you have to lift the fingerlifts. This is not the same as the AB detent. On a land base you can go into AB without the fingerlifts.
  4. The Virpil is unfortunately to high for me in combination with the extension I use. So I am looking to buy the VKB.
  5. I intend to, but the base alone is not yet available in Europe as far as I know.
  6. I'd rather see them release a new, more sturdy base / gimbal.
  7. Isn't the FA-18's radar on par with the F-16's, and thus inferior to the radar of the F-15 or F-14? Bigger radome, bigger, more powerful radar?

  9. Hey folks, Does anyone know of a way to set on which plane the camera is pointed when in the role selection screen at the beginning of a mission? At the moment this seems to be random. Mud
  10. You can do a lot of things in DCS, or any sim for that matter, which would not be allowed in real life. I think it's our own responsability to check our configuration. You cannot expect AI to be implemented to police us in everything we do or don't do.
  11. Understandable. I can only assume it's pretty high up on the to-fix-list.
  12. It's not a problem for me if you have 1 spawn in first, unpause, and the have the 2nd client get in the 3d world.
  13. For what it's worth, and if it hasn't been reported yet: - Took off with a centerline. - Jettisoned the centerline. - Hit the tanker. - Freeze when tanks are full.
  14. As far as I know: For throttle forward: - In the air or on an airfield, no difference. - On the catapult, full forward the throttles will limit you at full mil power. With finger-lifts raised, you will go into AB. For throttle backward: - Without the finger-lifts raised the throttle stops at flight idle. - With them raised you can go to ground idle / engines off.
  15. You should indeed map them actually. (or use them on the keyboard). They also allow you to push the throttle into afterburner when taking off from the carrier.
  16. Same thing happened to me just now on my first AAR in the Hornet. I had a disconnect from the basket as the tanker went into a turn, no problem there. Reconnected and when my tanks were filled, game freeze. Last bits of my log:
  17. The same goes for the speed brake switch on the Warthog throttle.
  18. Yeah, I hope indeed not. I just need to sort it out with the throttle settings. If someone got it set up perfectly, please share a screenshot of what it looks like.
  19. Could you post a picture of what that looks like on your end? I have tried, but without success.

    Rain Effects

I hope they add prop wash effects to the raindrops for the prop planes.
  21. Well, this for instance does not work: and your edited scripts that were here:-- here:\DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Database\Troops\USA.lua instead would go here:-- drive:\users\username\saved games\DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Database\Troops\USA.lua I also have no clue why USA.lua for instance causes an integrity check failure. I mean it changes nothing that alters sim mechanics.
  22. Left hand on stick in planes or helos where it's needed.
  23. I thought I read you can put a homing beacon on a moving zone. But indeed all I wanted is a ship to have one, which is indeed not possible (yet).
  24. I have tested and the radio does not seem to be working. I reckon it is bugged at the moment for moving zones? Another question, MadDog, why do you use normal altitude above, rather than AGL? It's thanks to you now I also saw that in the triggers the altitude is always in the metric system. Best regards, Mud
