  1. Apart from the longer loading times, I'm getting 1 second freezes on bomb/missile impacts which I didn't get in 1.1.0.6.
  2. \o/ That would make this a very good day :)
  3. And if you can't find the emergency flood light switch in the dark, you can always put on your night vision goggles for a while :)
  4. I believe this was confirmed already in an interview some weeks ago.
  5. Version 5.1 works fine on x64 systems. I'd advise to indeed uninstall the old version first (save your custom profiles to be safe - if you have any) Bonso
  6. *whisper* I think I see A-10's
  7. Indeed he might be. Would make sense as they (most afaik) don't make honey.
  8. I remember my takeoff was also from Beslan when it happened. Seems I'll be off ghostbusting and take-off improving tonight.
  9. I can confirm that this happened to me as well once, and I'm certain I had disengaged the NWS. I did pull back on the stick more gently than usual on that occasion to releave the nose gear of stress. But apparantly the end result was quite different. I'll see if I can replicate it tonight when I'm home.
  10. svchost.exe is a windows process. You should actually have several of those running. I have one using 74000k and trackir5.exe*32 is using 45000k. So that value you are getting there really doesn't strike me as abnormal.
  11. That doesn't seem excessive to me in terms of memory usage. In any case I doubt it would be the cause of stutters. The more common culprits for that would be CPU/GPU usage. Am I right to understand that you only suffer from stuttering when you use TrackIR?
  12. Awesome, thanks.
  13. I'd like to know if it's possible to adjust zoom normal to have a view a bit further back. I use zoom in slow to help spot targets at times, and then quickly use zoom normal on my egress to have better situational awareness again. It would be awesome to have this zoom normal adjustable so I don't have to zoom out slow to get to my prefered level of zoom again.
  14. Thanks ED. Very much appreciated!
  15. This is very personal of course, but when I fill up my car these days I pay around $65 and it lasts me a good two weeks (1k KM). I drive a Volvo diesel, mostly to work, and it doesn't have a GAU/8 to work my way through traffic jams. And even if it did, I reckon the recoil would probably just propel me right back where I came from. The $60 for DCS A-10C provides a whole lot more :) Joking aside, for what you get in return the price is really peanuts I think. I'm sure ED will iron out the remaining hickups in the near future. If you like combat sims, and have the pricey hardware to run them, then I really don't understand the facts that so many people make an issue out of the price for the item which actually supplies you with so much fun in the end.
  16. Have a look here, you'll probably find exactly what you need. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66775 Edit: Quicker on the trigger than me, Paulrkiii :)
  17. Cow, off the top of my head, I just placed the changed hgu55 file in the temptextures folder without making any other modifications to the original or a lua file, and my modified helmet shows up in the game.
  18. Overall I'm very pleased with it, it's quite a difference compared to my old gameport Thrustmaster Top Gun :) Negatives: - Wobble/play on the right throttle - Coolie hat left is jittery in DCS A-10C. Pressing short left often results in the left MFCD jumping two, and setting the MFCD as SOI is near impossible.
  19. Runs flawlessly on mine. AFAIK there aren't any major changes so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone. *fingers crossed*
  20. Great, thanks for the info =ACU=Tech
  21. I have followed paulrkiii's guide, but I can't figure out how to actually select the custom made skin in the game itself. Can anyone point me in the right direction? edit: Nevermind, found it :)
  22. The more, the merrier :) Big gratz ED on a great piece of art/work/fun. If it were weekend, I'd open a bottle of Champagne to celebrate :D
  23. Alright, thank you for clarifying that.
  24. I'm wondering what the proper way of braking is on touch-down. It's unclear to me if there's a brake on the front landing gear or only on the rear ones. So, does pressing both toe brakes fully = pressing the W key?
  25. The INS NAV READY has to be flashing for it to be completely aligned. So you shouldn't flip the EAC switch yet when INS NAV READY is shown, but not blinking.
