AMD Catalyst 12.8 (8.982.0 July 27) AMD Official WHQL
Mud replied to Mustang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was using 11.6 for a long time because of this. Strangely though, I updated to 12.3 when I played Diablo, and I just checked in DCS and I don't have flashing white boxes with that 12.3 version. -
It's been a while since I've been playing around with the mission editor, but you could put a single infantry unit very close to the station and have a trigger go off on its death.

He's selling hardware, not cable management, TM :P I hope everything turns out fine for you, TnDep.

Hey and welcome, Paul! Gosh, some of those hassles we used to have ... Back then, living at home still, my poor folks could never be reached on the phone because I was hogging the line. Being single and without children did give me a heck lot more time though :) I wish you a great time in this supurb sim!

Palit GTX 580 3GB bought - opinions?

I understand your wife's point of view :) Nevertheless I'd say kudos!! In the end it all depends on how much time of joy you get for your buck. And assuming we're talking many hours, days, months, .... then it's money well spent. -
I'm using 11.6 for DCS A-10 myself because it's the newest one which doesn't cause me to have the flashing white boxes. Apart from that I've never seen any major improvements when trying other drivers in DCS.

Oh my, the memories!! In the 10 year gap where I didn't fly any sims, I still often thought of Wolf 1 :) Cheers Bones!

Assuming TMS vs DMS was a typo here, I can also add that I've encountered that "problem". However, I've found that giving the TGP a small slew upward from my slaved SPI position and then letting it LSS works fine.

MicroProse Gunship 2000, Spectrum Holobyte Falcon 3.0, Jane's Longbow, DID EF2000 and F-22 (incl TAW). Hard to say but I think I spent around the same amount of time in all of those. DCS A-10C is probably catching up very fast though and will certainly surpass them all.

Unfortunately this can't be done currently, Geert.

Lies man, pure lies!!! We're the most docile kind on the net. Go ask Blizzard ;)

Does anyone know what causes the coarse gradients which can be seen now and then (as seen in the sky of the screenshots)? This is most aparant at dusk and dawn.

I pretty much always drop CBU's in CCRP mode cause it's an area of effect weapon and it allows me to have standoff height.

I'm a big Belgian trappist and abbey beer lover. To name some of my favo's: Orval, Rochefort, Maredsous (brown). Last summer I also tasted some surprisingly good American beers in Sweden: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Torpedo. My goodness ... nice and bitter!! In combination with smoked Lund sausages ... drewl :)

Good point, I should have posted this in tech support. And hmm yeah, you could see it as a feature I guess if you want to give the impression a flight just landed and shut down.

Setting an aircraft on the ramp with uncontrolled checked and 0 fuel will have the engines of that plane running and have them stop soon after. Giving that same plane fuel will have them sit silently on the ramp as they're meant to be.

I still have my money on the F-18 because of the Twitter post from March 18th. Honeyless bees = hornets if you ask me.

His wording could have been better, but his point is valid.

Traci Ir 5 Profile. Bad performance
Mud replied to Gomendio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think the idea of the proclip is to have more precise movement. I don't think it improves the range of motion in any way. The best you could do I guess is to finetune your own profile. I did so myself as well. It's quite time-consuming and not anywhere near perfect, but I'm pleased with the results. I bought the proclip package when I got my TIR5 though. So coming from not having TIR to having it was quite an experience / eye opener for me. -

I think it's hard to get a profile set where you can reach everything without it being askew. For the CDU and MFCD's I often use the snapviews. Also, after some time you remember the button positions and them being askew becomes less of a problem. -
Really looks like it's my kind of mission. The more realistic, the better. I'm not sure when I'll be able to fly yours though, WildFire. I barely have time at the moment to test my own missions at the moment which last around 1h30. In any case, this looks very promising and you can expect feedback from me as soon as I've had a go at it.

Makes complete sense. Yet the first mission of my campaign is a ferry mission, with no combat events or weapons carried apart from some AIM-9's in case. My main question is not about the discomfort it causes for me in the mission, since there's none. It's more about knowing how this works in reality. It would make more sense to me that the internal tanks get filled before the external ones. Say you do have to jettison your stores for some reason, I doubt you want to dump the majority of your fuel.
