I suspect a multiplayer server with excessive turbulence at that altitude, is the reason for that screenshot.

Manpads (SA-18) have near unlimited ammo
Buzpilot replied to RIPTIDE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
It's easy to check from the original mission, what the map options are set to, no unlimited ammo here. ( Customize menu, Map options. ) I also observed the Manpad was using 6 or was it 7 missiles, before it reloaded first time, he aimed away with launcher horizontal pointed, for about 12 seconds, and got 3 more, each time after . This was after I moved the units away from the airport, so there's no fast reload from airport here, or at least there shouldn't be so far away. Sa-18 Igla test.trk -
To prevent server lag, the codes between multiplayer clients is simplified, and syncing cockpit systems takes too much, probably. Not sure if it's possible to have multiplayers having a second peer to peer connection for syncing alone, is that possible?

I think it was a issue with the Tunguska in this sim, reflecting very modern capabilities, but I could be wrong, if the early variants in 70's and 80's also had this capability. So far we only have one Tunguska option. And while we still havent 70's or 80's jets, exept F-15C and A-10A on western side, it won't be a big issue. (not including AI fighters)

Thanks, this explain a lot. I only asumed this search radar had a very flat search beam, by the look of it. I guess it's a mainly LGBU workout then.:music_whistling:

So you think it's normal for a search radar to almost look up vertical too? ( I think you confuse 2d vs 3d radars, that can look vertical too.) Must be a cake thats sunk really thin in the middle then.
-
If Air defence, like Tunguska will be able to shoot down missiles, I think it's only fair if we have realistic Radar limits. Today DCS radar limit seem to be like a cake shaped cylinder, with a small hole in center of it. Is it too difficult to make search radars having realistic beams? This is from a Tunguska at the angle I lost search radar , on a A-10C at +13,000 feet. And here's how close to center the radar blip came, just before I lost it. Here's a example of how a modern anti air radar profile looks like, probably better than the flat looks of Tunguska radar, but a good example. Edit; But I'm not sure now, this example was from a 3d radar. Tunguska Radar limit.trk

DCSW AMD vs nVidia Exhaust View Distance.
Buzpilot replied to zhabcde5's topic in Video Corruption and Related Card Issues
After reading through all the posts, it seem to be some misunderstanding here. I think he meant sombody was able to fly that fast, with fuel tanks. And he also complained it is possible to edit a .lua file somewhere, to make it possible to see smoke/exhaust, from greater distance.( Far beyond normal) And he refered to this as a cheat that need to be included in server clients checkup, at least thats what I get out from it. Not at all about normal behaviour on different cards. -
Su-27 have 2 missiles too far behind, clipping flaps.

You can go as slow as 155-150 with full tank landing. The trick is to flare to horizon 3-5 sec before touchdown, to slow down vertical speed. fail-landing 01.trk

F-15C, Impossible unlock the Nose Gear...
Buzpilot replied to Skulleader's topic in Bugs and Problems
I could not get the LAlt+Q and S button to show up in Controls F-15C, and when I deleted keyboard.lua nothing happened. I then deleted Config/Input/F-15C folder, and then I get LAlt+Q and S buttons, but both times none of the Keyboard.lua or F-15C folder was rewritten. So now I have no Config/Input/F-15C folder. I haven't set up the 'old' setup i used to have, so maybe it get rewritten when I change something? Edit; Looks like Keyboard.lua is not in use anymore, I got my F-15C folder back, but need to remap all keyboard keys. I could only copy my 3 Hotas joystick files, so not a complete loss. Edit2; Strange, i just deleted the keyboard folder, and everything went back to normal, with the S and Alt+Q merged. -
Last test on my Manpad mission, seems much better, good work guys! Manpad Practice.miz

Disregard, i looked at tracks, and i probably pulled too many g's. Just remove this post.
-
There's no logic that EDGE will fix this, just because the world change and look better, the AI logic will probably just get copied and behave like it does now.
-
Normal landing speed is about 10 miles above stall speed, so just do some tests with different setups, and you can easily figure out that the current afm has a very low landing speed. Touchdown at 120-130 is no problem.

There was no sun or other reflection to make missile miss that close, so yes that seem logic to me, or it could be lousy coding of the missile, but i tend more to asume it's a simple mistake. The closer the missile is to target, the harder it will be to miss, bacause IR signals get stronger. And the KA-50 didn't exacly try escape those from behind. And I experienced in a beta test i was in, it was possible to use brakeshute, with no shute in reality, so there seem to be systems available in every vehicle, that accidently can be activated.

Yeah, but now we have dynamic weather.
-
Asuming it's AFM, Yes I'd love it. Much because learning fighting from that era, would give great experience and respect for the pilots back then, than modern era fighters.
-
I guess so, but players in AirCrafts that have laser detectors will also have this. But I think all of you above, missed my question. This means the Stinger actually use ranging Laser?
-
AI pilot in KA-50, seem to use a Electro optical Jammer from Su-25T, at least it's not a option in my KA-50. Edit, and one more bug, I can't upload a track, even after renaming it, if it's used for something else. (worked after I saved it again.) KA-50 Jammer bug.trk
-
You absolutely missed the point here, it's not about targeting Laser, it's about the Laser ranger, that some vehicles use to mark a GPS position, or measure distance to elevate correct angle on a cannon. Yes AC means Aircraft, and no, this was not about buddy lasing or targeting lasers. (And buy the CA if you want to comment here, please?)
-
And what happened here, really? Looks like the KA-50 using simplified FM, with the Su-25T electro optical jamming, a Cesium lamp at 6KW. What Really.trk
-
Edit; My version updated to 1.2.8 Openbeta automaticly, probably after renaming the old 1.2.7 Beta, and this is 1.2.8 Openbeta if sombody get confused. This means the Stinger actually use ranging Laser? If it does, why does AC only drop 2*4 Flares, after launch? Pilot have 360 view? Edit; I see it's not totally 360, but there also seem to be a Su-25T jammer behind, se post below.

lol,He didn't even answer the simple question, he never asked about the aim9 at all. So who's the cheeky one here? Aim7 have more explosive, and is better to bring down bigger slower targets (original made for bombers). Total useless exept that. (DCS use a older version than last one on wiki)

ER's fired at me without but i had no clue
Buzpilot replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Wish we had a possibility to edit tracks, like a Rewind command too, and a start - end option to cut out part to use for bug reports.
