  1. With the EU and Nato confronting Russia about situation in Ukraine, there could be a risk of a closing down of internet connections between Russia and the West. Will there be a backup solution to keep multiplay validation running, or do we risk multiplaying to shut down for a while?
  2. I did find the Norwegean F-86K of F-86D export variant did have a different engine, 25KN instead of 27KN, and that possibly a less tweaked engine was smoking less. So it's possibly the Norwegean F-86F's also used same engines, for easier maintenance. Wikipedia
  3. You have to fly up to high altitude first, it seems the drag at the highest altitude seem to get stuck in afm all the way down again. Edit I did a airstart at 5000 only, at 500mph, and the plane behaved nicely, and was controllable at 600mph too. So something happens during that dive i think. But it wasn't hard to get 600, just dived slowly and gained speed, and i kept it moving back to 5000feet too.
  4. Could be the engine stalls at redline, but the training video from US Airforce says it's fully controllable to redline, or 593miles at sealevel. And I loose control just after passing 550-560mph. In theory the plane would be controllable at high speed dive, if it didn't loose hydraulic pressure from engine stall because of the moving tailfin. At least this would make the pitch control available. Now it behaves kind of more like a MiG-15 i asume. http://www.wmof.com/F-86.html
  5. Something to do with high altitude first, and then keeping the low drag from high into the lower altitudes? I noticed this too, when I ended up loosing control after gaining +550 mph at low altitude, and this plane should be controllable at +1 mach.. Even turning high G's 4-6 didn't slow it down below 550, at 95% throttle. Is this a known bug, or something new? F-86F Drag test.trk
  6. And some old photoes from F-86F in active service in Norway, no sign of smoke here, or at least almost invisible. Digital Museum in Norway. The last ones here are F-86K, export variant of F-86D, with Radar dome. I know the pictures are old, but it should show that much smoke we see in DCS. If there really was.
  7. I agree, but thats not the F version. I have another link too, two types of F-86, but none are F versions, the shiny one in the middle don't smoke at all during takeoff 1:30, exept for white smoke ,later, I belive is for the show. From Wikipedia. Could be the shiny one in the middle is F-40 block, from those 280 wich reverted to leading edge wing slats? ( Anyway, it's a different engine) Edit; Turns out it's a Canadair. NX1F / FU-756 (cn 1461) - Canadair CL-13B Sabre 6
  8. If it was that simple, we would hardly see any smoke at all in this video. Flying in front of white shining clouds would in fact show really good, if there was smoke. Just because you can see one colored blocks of areas, it doesn't mean those 'hide' the smoke . Thats how MPEG works. If there was smoke, the codeks would show smoke at higher resolution.
  9. It sure smoke, but not all the time. It's very hard to tell but somwhere between 90-70% it stop smoking, unless it's accelerating. And this is the F version. And from 7:00 the smoke seems very faint, indicating it's smoking alot more with partly cold engine parts.
  10. If you compare with a privately owned F-86, using cheaper fuel than military, i agree. ( Can't really see your tube link) And acrobatic turning during a airshow, you technically accelerate to keep the speed constant. Making a turnfight normally smoking.
  11. I see the F-86 bug thread is closed, so I'll report this one here. The F-86 seem to smoke all the time, not just when accelerating, like during takeoff. It's like it's burning fuel like takeoff all the time. Compared to MiG-15bis Just as an example, I have a MiG-29 formation, where the two last MiG's are slightly lagging behind, and also smoke a lot during acceleration. (In DCS we only see a small puff of black smoke when throttle change)
  12. I'm not sure how it was in WW2, but nowadays a (nato) fighter should handle 150% of max G's without breaking up. It would probably been taken out of use, or if possible structural replacements.
  13. AH-1W would be more interesting, with capability to take out a few tanks. AH-1G is from what I have read very much more like the Huey, on weapons.
  14. I haven't flown P-51 last year, but I recall the red line in temperature was only 90 degree celcius, and I asumed this was only for civilian airshows, to keep the engine life longer, than the usual 95 degree red line for Spitfire merlin engines in wartime.
  15. Even Excellent I doub't this would be any close to real world. (High skill) 2 23mm fired, two hit (100%)
  16. I noticed one of the 3'rd party developers used Titan SLI, probably overdoing it. But I would think it's still Nvidia thats better.
  17. I already learned almost all in Flaming Cliffs, the afm in Su-25T made transition to basic A-10C flying smoother. But the best process of learning the rest was buying the Warthog Hotas. Just focus on one weapon in a mission, and learn to make simple training missions yourself in editor. The more advanced stuff, search for it on Youtube.
  18. I think he meant that updates are coming every wednesday, on Facebook.:music_whistling:
  19. \DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Mi-8MTV2\Doc But it's only the quick start.
  20. A Carrier is different, even in a war if it's possible to land on the Carrier, it's likely it has it's systems functioning. It could be totally different on land, so pilots still use the most likely landingmethod for combat.
  21. I see, first time I notice this, so now there are only 1985+ T-72 ingame. Wasn't there a older one before? (at least the Svir is not in encyclopedia yet)
  22. When did this happen, or is it a bug? Mission Generator Medium 01.miz
  23. If it's not in a radio menu, so new players can train at this offline, don't expect everybody knows 'common sense'. Not everybody have Falcon installed.
  24. The next jet released will be day one, just waiting to see witch one now.
