  1. Please check your thread
  2. Please check these videos from the trunk (working) version: 1) The specific sound on startup now sounds longer. Although I think the problem not in the sound itself, but in the rate of increase of RPMs from 40% to 60%. But I added some solution 2) Demonstration of missing sound when raise RPM from idle with full throttle + Rear Roar sound that you've missed earlier maybe. Is it good enough?
  3. You speak about F3 view in DCS :) You can't fly near Blue Angels and rotate yourself around them :) I've recorded F3-view flybys, as on Air Show with current sounds. I made it from scratch, so it's not great. But please look at it. That is how new external sounds works. Do you hear sharp transition from front to rear? or 8-sec bad quality loops?
  4. People sometimes compare the view of F2 (exactly F2) in the air with something .... I am always very interested how? :) Do you have the experience flying near FA18? or do you have the video from F2 view in the air in real life? Please please share it to me! That is why I very much ask all comparisons to be made with real video recordings. I think you can do it only with F3 view from a certain distance. Therefore, sounds for air, their volume and cones/spheres of sound are adjusted exactly for F3 view. Not F2 In any case, your opinion has been heard. I will do my best to improve the external sound. And again, I will be very grateful in this thread if you concretize, together with the videos and comparisons, what exactly can be improved. Many thanks you all!
  5. I'm sorry, but I haven't seen this thread before. And unfortunately, it did not reach the list of tasks / bugs / features. Many thanks for the detailed research. I'll try to do something about it.
  6. From the feedback I got, most people like the new sounds. However, there is still work to be done on the sounds. I would be very grateful if you show specifically in the video those nuances that you are extremely unhappy with. Desirable in comparison with real video
  7. I'm not sure there will be any errors in the log at all. Please try to create a simple single mission in which you can reproduce the bug. Achieve bug reproduction and check the points I wrote about in the previous post. Upload the mission itself, track, log after the bug occurs.
  8. Please provide log files with this bug. And can you tell me if you fired the cannon before the ejection on each occasion? And if a bug occurs, please try to change the option "Loud Cockpit Afterburner Sound" in AUDIO Options. does it affect the volume of the buggy sound?

I am very glad that I could help. Many thanks! Yes, but the search rules for files are slightly different. And as I found out, there is no sensible documentation yet. But they promised to do it in the near future.

Then this is a problem on the side of your subwoofer speakers. They amplify some specific frequency, or it can be the reflections in the room, or the location of the subwoofer ... or smth else. Unfortunately, I cannot remotely understand in which sound exactly the frequency that disturbs you is located. Try do the same with other sound files Sounds_F16_4.zip. One by one set gain = 0 But it can be even from the sound from external view, that comes into the cockpit through sound filter.... So the problem I think not in the one or two sounds, but in specific for your audio system frequency, which can come from several sounds.

Well, you can use your files as before. Put your sound files into c:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\FA-18\Cockpit Put your SDEF files into c:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\FA-18\Cockpit the sound of one airplane in the DCS consists of more than 100 sounds (FA18 = 180+ sound files). Believe me, they are done only after a careful analysis of what needs to be done. After careful study of a large number of audio-video recordings, In my opinion, the sound of the engine in the FA18 is really poorly perceptible. But I personally have not flown and have not even seen this plane close. I can be wrong too. Therefore, I always ask - if you have any evidence of audio-video in good quality that something sounds wrong - send it to me by mail or Skype or drop it here and I will definitely correct the errors. If not, you have to trust me :)

In my headphones, alas, in this video everything is fine, there are no "wrong" sounds. Perhaps the sound of the flowing wind in the cockpit bothers you? Let's try to turn them off one by one. Sounds_F16_3.zip extract archieve as usual and try one by one edit new files with gain = 0

Plz show it with the video. Supersonic speed maybe? :)

    Cockpit sound

Please, turn off the "hear like in helmet" menu option in the AUDIO settings and set all Volumes to 100%. Then record a short video without any changes and with my 3sdef's with gain=0 please. I can't understand where the rumble exactly...

Ok, let's try another two files Sounds_F16_2.zip extract archieve as usual and first edit F110GE129_Amb_InL.sdef with gain = 0, and if you wont be happy with it, try another file PlaneWindInL.sdef. Change last line of the file too: gain = 0 I hope this will help

Perhaps It will also be more comfortable for you to turn off the "hear like in helmet" menu option in the AUDIO settings and decrease the volume.

    Cockpit sound

For F16 I'm not sure which sound is bothering you. Let's try to change this one: Extract this file to your DCS folder: c:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS Sounds_F16_1.zip This will partially remove the bass rumbling sound from the engines in the cockpit. You can edit this file in the archive F110GE129_Back_In.sdef by yourself and set gain = 0 to remove it at all.

    Cockpit sound

Sorry, but I can't agree with you :) But let me help you: Extract this file Sounds.zip to your DCS folder: c:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS This will partially remove the interfering to you rumbling sound. You can edit this file in the archive F404GE_Amb_In.sdef by yourself and set gain = 0 to remove it at all.

    Cockpit sound

You can use your own sound files and modify sdef-files to turn off or made quieter everything you want. Please check Doc/Sounds/sdef_and_wave_list.txt In real life, in the F-16 cockpit, the engine power is much heard. What is missing in A10 or F18. we try to match reality. I'm sorry for the inconvenience If you think that the sound is very different from the real one and you have irrefutable evidence, video or recordings - provide them to me please and we will try to correct the sound
  20. After receiving the update, the sound will be tied directly to the animation.
  21. This was fixed. To be more precise - the afterburner sound was tied to the afterburner animation. I hope the animation works correctly. But please wait a bit before the update gets to you. Because at the moment some work is underway with some sounds of FA18 and it is not finished.
  22. please give a little more details. Do you speak about FA18?
  23. Well, with max power we don't hear anything: While with your params (2600 rpm and 1.4 ata) we can hear low bass sound of P-47 prop a little, not so loud I think 200 meters between us. But is there any proof that we should not hear it at all with these params? :)
  24. Oh, I'm sorry) I did not understand. Many thanks :smilewink:
  25. Do you really think it is very loud? Please, listen to how well you hear people talking on the background of the flyby. No lofty tones and screams, ordinary conversation. And try to find a similar video with the same distance to the P51, for example
