correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, it just lowers the overall volume and applies a low pass filter. However, if we compare with a reference video, then we always (or almost always) should compare with a disabled option. -

Many thanks. I am really happy you like it. Please wait this improvement in the nearest updates. If someone has any other thoughts, necessarily supported by some reference, please write about it. -
Sorry, I can't help in this case. Maybe @c0ff can

correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable

Here I am @Bob1943 and F-5 pilots and players, please take a look at the second sound test video with improved cockpit engine and high-speed airstream sounds (and some minor improvements): -
correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for your answers! Yeah, you right, the high-speed airstream knocks out of the sound mix the "howling" sound. I will try to adjust the sound settings for the "howling" to make it look like this. Yeah, it is really like a "siren", but in my video-references it is barely audible. Anyway, I think I should add it a little. I will return with another "test-video" later -

I'm back @Bob1943 and F-5 pilots and players, please take a look at this test video: Note, that the option "Hear like in Helmet" is OFF. Several sounds were added, some of them updated, taking into account the reference videos that was posted above. How do you like it. What can be improved else? -

correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Many thanks for your very detailed answer. I will try to update it somehow and return to you later with some test video For all, please don't worry, we will not return to 2.6 sounds. We will update the current for more immersion in reality. As I see there's really can be more noticeable high-pitch noise about 1kHz: https://youtu.be/j77LEoXWOvA?t=95 https://youtu.be/P7QumrbgLfY?t=58 -
correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for your answer. I mean not your video, but some of the youtube-videos, that sounds great by your memory. And we will compare them and try to find what we missed and what we can add to improve the current sound -
correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Of course not not so easy ))) First I want to explore why Bob likes the previous version better and compare it with the real sound of the cockpit, which I hope Bob will provide me. Perhaps some small detail was overlooked by me in updating the sounds. And I could tweak it without spoiling the current sound. -
correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable

Definitely 2.7 is better for me and more realistic But please give me the real-video from the cockpit that you will like to hear in DCS. -
correct as-is In-Cockpit Engine Sound with V 2.7 Stable
btd replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi. That's very strange, cause there was not any changes for F-5 cockpit sounds. It was for F-16 only. Although the changes may have been made a long time ago and were not included in previous updates. But let me update this to make it more comfortable for you. Maybe you can give me the youtube-link with the cockpit sounds of F-5 that you really like and I will try to adjust the sounds to it. -
reported What`s that noise, gear door closed?
btd replied to skywalker22's topic in Bugs and Problems
There have been many complaints before that people do not hear when the landing gear is retracted. And that they need it so much. I agree that in real life this sound should be softer and felt more by the body than by the ears. Something similar was done in F16 with new cockpit sounds. Not yet in the current version, please wait for updates. If the reaction of people will not be negative for the soft and quiet sound of f16 retracted gear, then I will do the same for f18 too Thanks -
reported Sound bug: Engine RPM sound increases/decreases with camera movement
btd replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think yes, this bug was related to moving cameras, regardless of single or multiplayer -
Hello, If you don't have it, please create: Sounds\sdef\

Not sure how fast it will get in the update. Therefore, I propose a temporary fix. Unzip attached archive to c:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\sdef detentSDEFs.zip

There is a sound which you can hear without a helmet definitely in the real plane. Do you enable "Hear like in helmet" option? Anyway: 1) I'm not sure that something was changed from 2.5 for it I don't see any changes there 2) settings 300% will not apply to it, because it does not belong to the "switches" category. It's like a separate mechanism 3) The cockpit sounds will be updated in the nearest future and I will check and adjust this sound too Thanks

I would be very grateful if some of the pilots would also comment. Please note - this is the sound "without a helmet"

@GrindleHi, it is still in work. But please watch this demo video (I've updated the link): How do you like it? Maybe any suggestions for improvement? Thanks.
-
Fully agree with Bunny Clark. The sounds from the camera on the airframe that looking at the pilot are very very different than the sounds from the pilot's view. But in any case, there are a few points to update. I will try to add a little more warm, more low frequencies in the cockpit. And update the airflow sounds. Many thanks for your report. I will return later with some test videos with new sounds. please be patient

Audio crackle when going through Mach 1 (repeatable, track included)
btd replied to Gunjam's topic in Sound Bugs
Please give me some tracks or/and videos with not 3d-parties modules, FA18 for example -
That's strange. I checked your track. Evrth is fine, the rocket sounds well. Maybe something in the current brunch version of dcs
