Tunguskas shooting down Mavericks?
Hellcat61 replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That doesnt suprise me. Tomahawks move relatively slow, not even breaking the sound barrier. Mavricks are a bit more suprising. -
NAS Oceana: Blue Angels Air show video.
Hellcat61 replied to NEODARK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I went both days. It was a great show. I didnt really watch the blue angels, their shows are all the same. Seen one and you've seen um all. I was much more impressed with the Tomcat demo's. The sunday demonstration was very touching. They retired the VF-101 demonstration team. Very sad. I was fortunate enough to be in the VF-32 tent, which sat at show center. Pays to have a pilot father . I also had a quick chat with Tomcat legend, Dale Snodgrass. He visited the VF-32 tent after flying the F-86 Demo. Another high point of the show. I posted about this on the neglected Ubi forum. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/94610606/m/3351005753 -
I have had Shepski's realistic weapons mod for quite a while now, unfortunately, the CBU skin is gross. I notice the beautiful CBU skins in the Lockon.ru gallery. Can I get those? They would really make the difference for me. If so, were can better CBU skins be found. Thanks, Hellcat

Ok. I have your answer, unfortunately I dont think its the one you want. You need the 61.77 Nvidia drivers. The problem lies with the ships. When ships are moving on screen, all dynamic lighting and shadows stop. Once you get into a certain distance of the ships, you lose these effects. I had posted on the UBI forum about this problem last year. Ive been through two graphics card upgrades and the rusults are the same on both. If ships move, you get no shadows. Its just a bug. As of now, no modern Nvidia drivers will correct this. The only ones that would allow me to get dynamic shadows with moving ships were the Nvidia 61.77 drivers. If you have a GF card, hunt for these and they will solve your problem, unfortunately it is a very old driver. If you are a ATI man, then im at a loss, I have never seen a fix for this bug with any ATI driver, I may be wrong though... Good Luck.

Ive never been able to get one to break the sound barrier. All of my attemps were in dives of corse, and usually ended in very gratifying structual failures resulting in wing and tail loss. Its amazing how much fun you can have in FC without firing a shot. Belly landing is another favorite pastime of mine. Especially when a wing hits before the fuselodge. Aahh... debries....

su-33 to su-33 'buddy' a2a refueling
Hellcat61 replied to S77th-Dante's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
A-6E's and K/A-6D's used to do it all the time. F/A-18's refueling each other is commonplace as well. I agree it does seem silly to see two of the same aircraft drogueing off each other, but its not as silly as you may think. I do hope this feature is implimented. Very cool. -
The levy holding Lake Pontchartrain broke, had this happened in any of the other hurricanes New Orleans suffered, the results would have been the same. Its just that this was the straw that broke the camels back. The results are unfortunate. I appreaciate the thread Pilotasso.

Indeed! WOOT!

How? I've never seen the Su25T loft. Tutorial?

I noticed the Su-34's ability to use pylon branches to carry three bombs on a single pylon. Much like the F-16, these able the aircraft to triple what it can carry. Is their a mod for this on the Su-33? It would be great if you could impliment this feature on other aircraft. Im unsure of the availability of this on the real aircraft, but dont see why it would be a far-fetched idea. It would make bombing a much cooler experience to be able to have triple clusters of 250kg bombs on the racks. I know the '34 and '33 have a few differences, but I dont see why this couldnt be done? Is there a mod? -helk

Maverick keeps missing on A10?
Hellcat61 replied to sirbum69's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I didnt know this. Mine was set at default settings and range was what seemed to be the problem. I can hit targets, just not garenteed at close range. -

Hellcat61 replied to TekaTeka's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Actually, the reason the price dropped at Natural Point is because they decided to release 1.1 in Lock On Gold, which sells for about $20. FC sold for about $30, so when they decided to package 1.1 in Gold, Natural Point dropped the price to keep people buying at their site. Thanks for the economics lesson anyway. :D -
Maverick keeps missing on A10?
Hellcat61 replied to sirbum69's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Its your range. If you fire the Mavrick and it doesnt have time to complete its climb and then drop directly onto the top of its target, you are shooting them too late. Learn to use the MFD's and seeker heads to magnify your target and fire the missile from a longer range. Its not your missiles, or a bug, you fire too late and they will overshoot every time. Range is about two kelometers out if you do it right. Good luck. -Hellcat -
I may be wrong, but I dont believe the Su-27 can complete a full rotation cobra. Try as you might, you wont be able to do that one. Grab a Su-35 and you have a chance :D

It kind of pisses me off that I payed thirty some-odd dollars for it three weeks ago. :icon_butt -
OT: British Team rescue trapped Russian Sub
Hellcat61 replied to Brit_Radar_Dude's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That is great news. I saw it on Fox News the other day live before they had launched a sub to save them. I kept thinking about the Kirsk :(. Im glad they got those seven sailors out. Great job Brits! -Hellcat -
Were can this be downloaded? Looks really cool. -Helk

I would like to know the ranges of the Aim-120 and Aim-7 in FC. I know what they are supposed to be in actuality, but it seems that when I fire them, even at the ranges proposed in the manuals, they loose momentum and run out of steam before hitting their targets. (Usually less that 20km away). I am in BVR mode and am getting a solid lock. The AMRAAMs and Sparrows just dont seem to have the fuel to tag the bandits. Is there a trick to this? If so, please share. -Hellcat

Realistic payloads request to ED
Hellcat61 replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You missed my point. True it "can" carry them, but how the heck is it going to utilize them in game? We dont have grount controallers or podded aircraft to guide the LGB's, so as far as the game is concerned, A-10A's dont carry LGB's. The C model on the other hand can and does lase targets and drop PGM's. Lose the damn attitude. People are trying to help you. -Hellcat -
True that!
