Hello Dave, (so 2001 :p :D ) This is a step by step guide that will allow you to add new Su-25T skins instead of overwriting existing ones. You might find it quite helpful. Note though this can only be done to the 25T, F/A-18 and C-130. No other craft can be edited like this. Also please back-up any file you are going to edit. First of all give you skin files a convenient name to distinguish them from the stock skins. For this example I will use our squadron Su-25T aerobatic skin. I renamed these files SU39-PAINT2-AERO.bmp, SU39-PAINT3-AERO.bmp etc. These files will go into your Bazar/temptexture folder as usual. Fig 1.1 my temptexture folder Next you add information of your skin to the Meinit file as shown here. The information you have to add is under the main Su-25T entry in the units catagory (where loadout and pylons are listed) and further down in the country catagory. Give your entry a unique CLSID number (so the sim can distinguish between them) and an ID code (next in sequence). Fig 1.2 Main unit Su-25T entry in MeInit file Fig 1.3 Su-25T country/skins info in MeInit file Next you edit the following files in the Bazar/world/shapes folder with Wordpad or other editor. These files are Su-25T.skins, SU-25T-FONAR.skins, SU-25T-NOSE.skins, SU-25T-TAIL.skins and SU-25T-WING-L.skins. You enter the name of the files used by your skin. The “value” being the ID code that you entered into the MeInit file, like this. All the information in these files should be the same. Fig 1.4 .Skins files All being well when you enter the loadout screen, Your skin should be entered into the skin collection like this. Fig 1.5 Loadout screen Fig 1.6 Ingame

Well to start my comments weren't directed at you to begin with. I am not questioning your use of weapons like this online but you always get the bad apples that use the likes of lope etc to cheat because they have no skill and would use any info you uncover to unlock the 25T to carry all sorts of things online. I was told by a little birdy that the weapons for the Su-25T were hardcoded but I was unsure what this meant (don't know programming) but by your previous comments I now think that it is hardcoded into the .exe Could someone confirm what hardcoded means.

So let me get this straight, you want a h4x for the only plane that we have that you cannot loadout with any "illegal" weapons all because you want to hang a missile on it that you think looks good. A missile, I may add that you could never fire or use because the proper targeting systems are not be modeled for it. The logic in this escapes me.

OT: F-22A Raptor goes operational

Strange the amount of "Uber L337 F-22" posts this weather. Is there a fishing competition that I don't know about. ;) -

Not asking for names here mate, but...Was it on our server? -
The problem with SF/Nero was caused when Nero was installed before SF. When Nero is installed after SF then there are no problems whatsoever.

OT: F/A-22 renamed F-22A Raptor
504 Wolverine replied to BladeLWS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The proposed naval variant of the F-111 (F-111B) was to be armed with the AIM-54 and fulfill the role of fleet defender. -
As I said, they are looking forward to 1.2. :)
-
You seem pretty hung up on 1.2 (or an unwanted helo/silly black shark addon as you call it) Well browsing the russian part of the forums tells me that the vast majority are looking foward to it, 1C are also looking forward to it and a hell of a lot of people here are looking forward to it. Its far from unwanted.
-
Yes 1.11 here and no problems, especially the ones you mention. screenies, lights and tyres all fine. With you comments about functions not appearing in the options page and that the CD checks constantly it sounds like there is something wrong with your install, a curruption somewhere. I would try a fresh install and patch with a newly downloaded 1.11 patch.

Norway's F-16's can also carry it as well IRL. Don't know if they can in Lock-on though.

OT: F/A-22 vs. well everything else
504 Wolverine replied to DaveRindner's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah, I don't either. If I did do you think I would be as low as I am. I think you should plan your posts a bit better or people will get the wrong idea about them and rate it as spam. Anyways enough of the Hijack. Back on topic. I remember a while back that there was a development of the Kh-31 being designed to take out AWACS, the Kh-31R IIRC. Anymore news on this? -

Still padding up that post count, I see. ;) -
Yeah. Doh. lol :icon_redf :icon_lol:

everything here listed works. Radio commands work with # key (UK keyboard) Screenshots are taken via the screenshot/sysRq key and are saved in the screenshots folder External lights in the 25T go from Off-Continous-Flashing-Off with the Shift-L key Drogue chute works when used within parameters. The 25T is a heavy machine, taxi at 20km/h or less and make your turns slow and gentle. Again this is not a bug. I would re-examine your landing technique if this keeps happening. Welcome to the wonderful world of Advanced Flight Model. It still works. Ctrl - R I believe.

Yep, that it does. :D Thanks for the link mate. Great Vid. -
Strange looking bug that. Looks like one half of the screen is using Low wter effects and the other is using High water effects.

504 Wolverine replied to 504MrWolf's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well you would not need to do all of that work if loadouts were simply hardcoded in like they are for the Su-25T. It is totally impossible to loadout any illegal weapons on it. -
Yeah we only have the GCI in one or two missions so far as its inclusion has only been decided reciently. We also have no LUA AWACS program installed as our server type person (Zorlac) is a tad paranoid about things like that.
-
It is modelled in the AFM. If you over G a 25T then bye bye wings.

Great vid mate. :D Thumbs up. This is Getsno's second publicly released Lock-on movie. His first called "Nam" is available on lockonskins.co.uk. http://www.lockonskins.co.uk/index.php?page=downloads&cat=84

A better way to get gamers to support devs...

Wether you think it's good or bad, starforce is doing it's job. There are NO pirate copies of Flaming Cliffs. It is sad that copy protection has to now go to the lengths that it has to but don't blame the producers of the software, blame the pirates who copy the software. The Devs/producers are only protecting their property. It's also sad that a vocal minority have had some problems but sometimes these problems are user caused and can be rectified with the proper help plus there is a large silent majority out there that have NO problems whatsoever. Rugbutt did a comprehensive search on virus software sites like symatec and norton and guess what. Starforce is NOT a virus. -
Thoughts and ideas on FC 1.11
504 Wolverine replied to DaveRindner's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In service with VVS Su-25 received a nickname "Gratch" (The Rook). This comes from the birds ability to get the food out of hard to reach spots, which is very similar to plane's ability to destroy the hardened targets in hard to reach locations in the mountains. The VVS staff called Su-25 "Konyok-Gorbunok" which is a fictional animal from one of the fairtales by Bazhenov. This character is more like a pony or some sort of a miniature horse, which looks ugly and small, but can outperform the bigger (and faster) stablemates. The Soviet infantry called Su-25 "Rascheska" (The Comb) because loaded Su-25 with its ten pylons occupied with the payload, resembled the comb if viewed from below. -
Thoughts and ideas on FC 1.11

Hello and welcome. :) 1. Ensure that your throttle is fully retarded and that your speed is below 300 Km/h before releasing chute. If not the chute will be torn off. Chute works 100% of the time for me when within these parameters. 2. Brakes work for me as well. I usually approach at 250-260 Km/h at -3 VS with airbrakes deployed, retard throttles and flare at threshold and pop chute. I f I do happen to have popped my chute in flight by accident then I usually coast down the runway for a while before braking. 3. I would look again at your rudder settings. Usually X-45's like mine have a problem with rudder centre settings. Ensure you ingame rudder settings are a curved axis with a slight bit of dead zone. 4. Vikhr is a guaranteed hit when launched within its parameters but if you are to close to the target I would not fire one because it takes a while to stabilise its flight path. 5. Yes the Su-25T is a dog for manouvering in the sim and RL. They added all that weight but kept the same engines as the vanilla su-25. Again if you keep her within her flight parameters you can throw her around the place. 6. The updated HUD info and the bombing modes/controls are excellent now compared to 1.02 and IMHO it is far easier than the western style. I suggest that us use the laser to help you in rocket and gun attacks but in time with lots of practice you will no longer need it. 7. I only fly the Su-25T and while it is hard to dodge amraams it is not impossible. Myself and 44th eagle had a good duke out on our server a few nights ago and it actually got down to a heater fight. It was a race to see whos heater hit first, I lost. lol. If you ever get a missile launch warning or lock warning the start to evade right away with knotching ECM and chaff&Flares. Never fly straight. 8. I don't know if the other aircraft will be getting it but NV is being introduced in 1.2 Black Shark After 1.2 Black Shark all work on Lock-on will be finished (well apart from patches) and no other units or aircraft will be fitted so the units and aircraft you mention will not be added to lockon. However ED are going to start work on a "Tank killer" sim probably consisting of the Su25/T, Ka-50, A-10 and AH-64 and a fighter sim with the F-16 Block 50/52 and the MiG-29.
