The last days of the Tomcat
504 Wolverine replied to Starlight's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
While spares like radar and such are irreplaceable, parts like hydraulic cylinders and oil pumps can be reverse engineered. Half of their fleet was cannibalized to keep the other half flying. Cannibalization like this is not unheard of, the USAF and other air forces do it to keep types no longer in production in the air. -
No. IIRC the limit is 35 degrees.

I would have to be in agreement with wolfie here. I won't be downloading them. When the Black 25T skin was released the 504th set about an experiment to see just what we could do with is editing ability, and just as wolfie says it has now turned into a circus, (though not for much longer ;)) I think that its ok for skins for the 25T that have been used IRL but these sort of fictional skins are a no no for me as well. Of course this is my own personal view on the matter that is not intended as a flame of the subject. I hope those that get these skins enjoy them to the fullest.

First of all you need to open the "mission editor" on the title screen. Next you need to open the campaign that you want to change the settings in. This is acheived by "File - Open" options in the drop down menus at the top of the screen. Now you need to tell the editor that you want to open a campaign, like this. Next you need to Declassify the campaign so that you can make changes to it. This is done by "Edit - Declassify" in the drop down menus. Now you enter the password to declassify. the stock campaigns and missions use "eagle" as the password. Now the campaign is declassified you can use the options menu (as shown here) to change the opition to what you want. ie labels and graphics settings. After this is done. Go "File - Save" in the drop down menu and everything will be saved to your settings. Hope this helps. :D

Krasnodar cntrl parking
504 Wolverine replied to 159_Archer's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes it a known bug. Just begin your turn before you get to the taxiway (ie taxi over the grove at an angle) and you will save your tyres. -
Lock-on is not an open architecture sim. Add-ons can only be added by ED. The only flyable released in 1.1 is the Su-25T and for 1.2 there will only be the Ka-50.
-
No you don't need to keep making changes everytime you want to fly the same mission. Just declassify it, make changes, reclassify (you can skip this if you want), then save it. Changes will be saved as well. I would also make a back-up just incase you make a mistake somewhere.

Minimum Specs for Black Shark
504 Wolverine replied to SUBS17's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
With cheese? ;) You can go supersize as well. :p :icon_lol: -
See my previous post. All campaigns and missions that come with Flaming Cliffs are classified and have to be declassified for option changes to take effect. just how it works.
-
Also you need to declassify the campaigns for option changes to take effect. To declassify the password is eagle.

lol, wrong forum Shaman? :p :icon_lol: Anyways, The <504> variant is only used in TS because the () characters cannot be used. We still use the (504) variant in game and forums.

FC is now only $14.99/£9 for the download.

No. That's just me and my Vikhrs. :p :icon_lol:

Whats your airspeed/loadout when this happens? Sounds like overspeed to me. Cruise speed for the T is around 400-450 Km/h with loadout.

Empoyment doctrin of the Su-25
504 Wolverine replied to MBot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
1st thing mission makers must be aware of and I have been guilty of myself is that only 4 waypoints should be assigned for the vanilla su-25. IRL thats all its primative nav computer can take. Also as said previous though we can use the vanilla as a CAS aircraft in lock-on IRL it is used as a flying artillery piece. Orbiting some way away from the frontline and laying down all of its ordanance in one pass when called in by foward air controllers usually with rockets, dumb bombs or cluster munitions. it wasn't until late in the Afghan war that guided munitions were used, to great effect. -
How do you pan your mouse in the cockpit?
504 Wolverine replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View and open View.LUA with wordpad. Change CockpitMouse = False to CockpitMouse = true -
Any joy mate? If you are having trouble with the process I could build up a Modman/loman5 compatable pack for you if you send me your skin files.
-
Looks like you installed the patch for the CD version, thats why it is asking for a CD.
-
You could try editing some of these values in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View\view.lua (backing it up first of course)
-
You can also add different skins to the droptanks as well. Just open the PTB-800.skins file in the bazar/world/shapes folder with wordpad (backing it up first). The "value" entry is again the ID of the skin that you want the droptank skin to be paired with. In this example of our instructor skin its ID is 13 so its value number is 1.3. the name of the skin file for it's tank is PTB-800-PAINT-TRAIN.BMP so this is entered to tell the sim if I use the instructor skin use this skin as a droptank skin. so just as you have multiple skins you can also have multiple droptank skins. :D Fig 1.1 Example of PTB-800.skins contents. Fig 1.2 Ingame example. Any questions on this process I will be only too happy to answer.

Modman will place any skins that are not named the same as the stock skins into the bazar/temptextures folder, so name these files whatever you want.
