Mission Prepare Options: Can you save damaged map Scenery??
Boneski posted a topic in Mission Editor
So In the mission editor we have the trigger option to damage scenery. Is there a way to save that damage so that new mission's can be planned using that damaged scenery? I used the prepare mission option but I don't see how you can save that changed and prep mission so that you can build on top of it. I the mission editor user guide I see that it describes setting controls in the simulated airplane but even there its not clear how any of this can been used in the next mission. Anyone with any insight into this I would be grateful for that information. Thanks -
This was my issue just as Badass1982 stated! I did some lite over clocking to get some better VR output on my MSI RTX 2600 Ventus oc and it was a no go. Reset to default clock.. game works fine no crash. So no over clocking for me.

Red Flag BFM Gun / Missile Tools and Options
Boneski replied to Boneski's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes this all stems from a real world syllabus. Regeneration back into the fight really gives the Nevada map purpose. Currently I make missions where I fly into a CAP or Sweep to engage in BFM. But AI with missiles you have to set up weps free triggers so they won't shoot your down before the merge. Also when you watch videos from DCS users trying to explain what they think is actual BFM is which I have yet to see a good video that really captures true BFM they are always gun fights. That burn all the Fuel up and end up 10 meters off the deck. That ain't BFM. That is WW2 fun time with WW3 hardware if that happen in real life. The Plus for a system like this is that Merge points could be setup allowing for missiles fights which should be over in less than 3 minutes and not some twisted furball going on for 20+ mins. The pilots would be noodle neck, arms and legs in real life. But all that aside. It would make a good addon. I am also looking to get into some online play again. Hit me up and maybe we can play sometimes. -
Please slow down the AI's start up routine to more realistic timings
Boneski replied to Boneski's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Spot On, Everything can be optional as some users as seen on some servers don't want to wait so the change can accommodate them. What I would like to see eventually is AI flight leads. Yes we can do it now by joining as an element of a 3 ship being the forth ship. But in the future I see the AI pilot skill actually meaning so much more. There was a game from back in the day called Chuck Yeager's Advance Flight Simulator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Yeager's_Advanced_Flight_Trainer So as a flight lead you can see how you could have the AI teach you how do stuff in the jet based on the settings. So Realistic start up times would be key. -

Boneski replied to Boneski's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It's not about a rewrite it's just another option or a tool for a mission builder to have in his or her tool bag. Keep it simple as possible if it's possible to do as pre-written function vs having jets spawn in or ai pilots magically spawn in. Contacting a pilot and asking her how long does it take you to start up your (jet type) during a non-alert situation and adding that pause / wait time to the AI may not be all that hard. I mean the AI waits when we are set to flight lead so it's already in the code. -
Wish List Item: ACMTO |Air Combat Manoeuvring Training Option This Wish List Item is for an Air Combat Maneuvering Option that would allow Users the option to conduct non-destructive BFM. Meaning record BFM kills without actually shooting each other down. How it can be done currently Currently this can be achieved by setting the player to be indestructible (immortal) with unlimited weapons, This works fine but players can't mort themselves when they make a mistake. So things like collisions and other mishaps are not recorded. Basic Overview of the Idea In this request the user while playing against another user or AI can employ a VAAWS | Virtual Air to Air Weapons System that will record hits and misses as well is weight changes (optional) as users may just need to carry inerts or just the ACMI pod. After Kills are recorded with impact of a VAAWS the jets are steer-point que'd to fly back to the reset point and fights on again. Implementation Ideas & Features This could be mission a editor selectable set of options or a special ACM / BFM editor mode. In this mode AI jets can take off from the same location as the advisory aircraft fly and orbit the training airspace and call when it position. Inside the editor in ACM mode the user set the floor, (which would be great as it will stop from having dogfights 10 feet off the deck due to poor altitude management. The type of dogfight setup like one circle or two circle setups as well as respawn points which could show up as labels or HUD ques. After Knock off flight return to base or tanker as fuel management is also part of the tasking. Within the ACM / BFM mode the user has a special radio menu that allows them to call fights on /knock it off , reset and so on. This Mainly to control the AI so that players can call them off and end the training sortie and RTB. Also It would be neat for Human wingman training as well, Wingmen VS AI setup and son on. . Currently inside of DCS most of these things can be achieved with the combination of settings and mission editor tasking. Brief Reason for the Request Finally brief reasoning for the this idea / request. Simply it fits DCS. It also adds a powerful training element to DCS and especially gives the Nevada map more purpose. Training evolutions can and would yield more results or players by allowing BFM setup without mission restarts and it also allows the users to do other training within the same sortie like refuelling, landing, formation, practice and so on. Just some ideas

Hi All the title says it all. But I am looking for a script that has realistic activity and weather for Nellis and Red Flag Work. If you are willing to share please let me know. Thanks so much.

Well gang its not like there is one person working on the game. There are teams. These teams work on different areas of the sim. If I take the things some of you wrote that you would like to see worked on first... by the logic you all presented those things you listed could not get done because the programmer is working on a thing that may not be the thing you listed. I understand that some are saying you see a set of items that your have priority in your minds as important. I can dig that. But you know what the most important thing is though? Attracting players. Getting them into the code base. Giving them options. If a female pilot wants representation in the player model she selects... that's just as important than anything else. It adds to her experience with the game. As someone wrote this is not the SIMS. But the game does not reflect the diversity of the player base either. Some attention to that detail would be just as cool as adding any other feature the game plans to offer. Currently I just edit the Skins for the Module I like the best. I'm My case all my F16 pilots are brown dudes doing what they do. LOL. I am looking forward to the ATC. Having difference voices int that element of the program would be great.

So I wrote about this a while back maybe a 2 year back or so ago... But it would be nice if the game reflected the community a little better when it comes to the way our pilot models are rendered and the Ai / own voice sounds. Of course I know its not possible to render every shade of humanity in the game, This is not the United Colours Of Benetton Flight Sim. But, The game could mix up the paint a little bit. for visor up operations via a generic Male / Female Model. It's not a big deal looking at a white guy in every jet from every nation... as you don't really notice it until you go external. But it gets wacky when you know the tech today is no longer a limitation like it was yesterday. Not suggestion that a female model have all the female parts rendered with physic and junk. The current pilot body skin works for both genders But a face swap would be cool. It would add to the realism. When you look over at your random Ai wingman and it could a brown guy or girl... or some colour that shows diversity in both ethnicity and gender. Just like the diversity of the in game Aircraft it adds to the realism... the diversity of the AI or human pilot just amps that realism up a bit. From Gender to Voice Modulation of the AI this stuff exist. For the player own character, settings via a slider allow the user to customize their pilot would be pretty sweet! I would be cool to hear female AI voices in the game as well as a broader range of other voices and and realistic pilot skin hues... Not a priority just and Idea. Sorry in a rush so forgive any typos.. will edit later.

Please slow down the AI's start up routine to more realistic timings
Boneski replied to Boneski's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hi yes, This is not what I'm on about. What is being suggested is much larger than that. The point is to have the AI be more believable when it comes to ground handling ops. The game devs spend alot of hours building a game that allows us to inject as much realism the player knows into their gaming system via optional checklist. The suggestion here is to script the AI by default to appear more "human" by running an AI'ish checklist that has built in pauses during startup to simulate a more realistic AI start up. Example when you watch Matt Wagner's F16 start up video or even the in game startup training there is a cadence there...pauses and wait times... it would be nice if the devs could add scripted wait times into the AI start up. So for example a 4 ship AI lead flight has a hack time and the AI works the start sequence to meet that hack time. The AI flight lead does a comm flight check in and all the elements comm to lead Check ready to go. So if the player gets the ability to fly as a non lead element... he or she has to comm to lead they are ready before the AI taxis out. Currently the AI is in scrabble mode. This makes sense because it makes ground path management and queuing less complex. They get the AI on and up as fast as possible. -
Hi devs great game products....long time player. As the topic states please slow the AI down when they perform their cold start. There is no way for a human to keep up with them when we are cold starting and try to play as their wingman or a wingman in the flight of 3 as number 4 or element 2. You load the game start the mission and they have started and by computer magic have run the checklist and have bounce while you as the human player is just getting startup clearance from tower. I know we can program triggers to give more gap time. But it would be nice to have the AI do it as SOP. I will also add a post about allowing a human player be able to play as a wingman in a 4 ship flight. Thanks.

F-16: Cougar Microstick: slowing down TGP movement
Boneski replied to Lange_666's topic in Thrustmaster
Hi So let me ask... If you have to do this and have to use this with Button Emulation on... You then have to write a full stick program and not be able to use the DCS functions that model their real world counterparts correct? So for example Long Press DMS down in game works like it works in the real jet. With Button emulation on you can't program a stick file to simulate DMS long press down. Am I missing something here. Thanks -
Thank you... that is what I wanted to confirm.... I have ad this thing for almost 20 years and still not sure how to use it fully LOL... Thank you again!!

Hi all I just want to ask about how dcs reads joystick input... my example is the pov coolie hat for trim. When I see JOY_BTN_POV1_L does this mean the game is reading the cougar's pov coolie regardless of the code behind in the joystick program file or do I need to empty my joystick memory? or do I need to assign the keypress as well? I am trying to determine if the F16 module will require me to program the stick to do the SOI stuff like the real jet or can I just connect op the Joystick empty the unit of all programming and let the game read the joystick input with no code behind. Also does anyone have a realistic F16 Profile for the cougar joystick:joystick: thanks

HOTAS Cougar DirectX input with Logical flag programming
Boneski replied to Pegaso69's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Short version of the logic: Well I will as if this is logical possible with the Thrustmaster Cougar I would like to program my cougar S1 button to do 3 functions with out having to switch the dogfight button. Basically I would like the S1 button to operate as close as it does in real life wit the 3 function NWS | A/R Disconnect And Air Refuel Disconnect I would do this based on press and hold time so: if I just press and release S1 it cycles weps if I press and hold for 5 seconds I would like it to Activate the NWS if I press and hold for 10 seconds I would like to run the refuel disconnect command Is that possible with the Thrustmaster cougar setup? -
HOTAS Cougar DirectX input with Logical flag programming
Boneski replied to Pegaso69's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi All, Is it possible to use the logical programming so that I could assign 3 key presses to it. So lets say I want the first press (short press) be weps cycle 3 second press be NWS and 10 sec press Air Refueling probe deploy and retract? When I tried to do the logic it always press the the first key then after a few seconds it did the second key.. this is not what I want to happen. What I would like to happen is the following When I either press the pinky or even better if this could be done with just the S1 button So for example: IF (S1 button in for 3 sec) THEN Cycle NEW IF (S1 button in for 10 sec) THEN Open Refueling Door IF (S1 button in and out <1 sec ) THEN Cycle Weps If this logic cannot be done with just one button then have the following: IF (S1 button in and out <1 sec ) THEN Cycle Weps IF (PINKY 3 Sec) AND S1 button Pressed) THEN NWS IF (PINKY 10 Sec) AND S1 button Pressed) THEN REFUEL DOOR Is this possible with the logic flags? This is what I tried and no matter what the default action for S1 Fired. Thanks! For Me, When using proper procedures the MiG-29 can be a mess. The full aft stick Flare is a beast with power pulled off. It normally results in some sweet skateboard tricks like a totally nar nar ollie followed by a sick railslide with lots of flames and junk. The good thing though, most of the mangled game jet is off to the side of the runway so the rest of the flight can land. No need to divert as briefed! But if I come in off mins and roll in fast and long... no prob. That Bloody Mi8 is ditch maker for me.. Might as well have all the troops jump out and press their luck if I'm the pilot.. because if I go to land it.. well someone will need to bring a mop. The MiG-21 if I'm landing at Mozdok due to the fact the game does not model brake fires ... All is well as I max out the ABS. But Landing at a field shorter than Mozdok... its done and dusted... bring TUG out to the far end of the runway because there is a MiG-21 stuck in the dirt! The Trail Draggers ... it's a wrap from the start... I can't get down the runway to get them off the ground. If you see Bones on the runway in a tail dragger... you can bet the runway will be shutdown until they get the fire out.

I sure didn't! Looks sweet though! I look forward to other Chinese fighters for sure.
