  1. Is there a Mod that allows for 3 digit side numbers for Red Aircraft? The Blue Aircraft have 3 digit tail numbers as an option. Thanks

  4. Anyone building any missions related to the current issues in Asia?
  5. Did something like this back in the Flanker days with my World Squadron Program... It's a great Idea... Back then not many people did much online stuff... I have been thinking about bring that stuff back on line...
  6. Hey G, The reply was ment more as an in general kind of comment. You are right that Lock ON! does not support that option for the NATO side. Do you assign your flight target objectives via the mission editor?
  7. AI is not that bad! The AI is not that bad. You just have to know how to use them. What did you assign their mission as? Did you give them a target in the editor? First it depends on you the user... like others have said.. get the AI into the fight by commanding them to turn on their sensors. Just after take off once you get formation sorted is a good time to do all of that. It's pretty much a good idea to drive with them on if you want to play in a realistic fashion. Despite what you read... you can't really hide that many tons of metal, heat and noise in a cold empty sky, but this is not air combat so you have to take advantage of the stuff you have. Also use your formations that have been modeled. Spread the boys out if you know that you plan to engage a contact. Also you should always fly with Airborne Warning Aircraft or EW ground radar relay stations. The game supports both. That way you will have data link information. That alone helps a lot in this game. You see what the AI sees and you will get cueing and threat data. Which helps you see what’s going on. You can fly with a 4 ship but like someone said... you can't sep into 2 ship elements like you can in the air but that’s to be expected from a program running on a computer. So yes it's harder but you can make it work to good effect. When using all the above, playing the game with and against the AI has been a pretty cool experience. It’s not perfect but It gets the job done. Good Luck and again use your tools!

  17. Any one feel like doing some multi directional time on target work along with some other AG work?
  18. It's been a while since 2 well trained Air powers have clashed in anger. God Willing ...it will stay that way. _
  19. Like EB said it is the evolution of the science. Every air force is a deadly one. Every weapon is deadly. No one item in air combat is the keystone... or the magic bullet. The system as a whole is what makes this such a deadly game. That system includes many things that have nothing to do with the airplane. Aircraft designers do not put their stock in one place.
  20. Bingo! A slow fight against a jet that can fly slower becomes a problems. As one jets is near stall and the other has a few extra knots of smash before stalled... the guy that still has more control authority has the advantage. Classic Viper vs Bug fights off the East Cost. To keep it basic....in training, including academics.. the goal is to find the best rate and radius for your turn... Corner... but after that yours goals become very simple and that's to keep your smash up... and don't get killed. Yesterday.... a fight was a race to see who would get to the wall last(meaning be the last one to lose speed / energy ... lose rate... and become the first to lose the fight as 20mm cracks through your skull... don't worry they say it would not hurt since you would pretty much be headless) But really... Today Jets like the 22, EF2000,Flanker and MiG jets have the thrust, computer power and aero to fight in this slower flight regime. A turning fight gets slow... it's just how it is... as you try to get the Kill geometry. So jets that can turn 180 degrees in less then 400' of sky at a high rate with full aerodynamics or thrust control become very deadly close in. Hope that helps
  21. Hi D. Maybe there will be something on the Discovery channel about it.
  22. Well here is a quiz question. What (use to) happen(s) when you get slow and reach Max Alpha?
