F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
VO101_MMaister replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nice models, but those plastic nuts with threads are hopefully only prototypes, they wont last long. What do you use for CAD modelling and rendering? Those renders look really awesome! -
What is a absolutely critical to avoid the ground loop or the leaning to one side after touching down is to eliminate any sideslip when the wheels touch ground and roll out. Since before the screen we have no feedback in our bottoms, check the ball and keep it centered during the process.

Engine RPM - Switch or Slider?
VO101_MMaister replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I put the prop pitch also on buttons, because the axis was useless. But for me at least if i hold the button down it doesn`t change the pitch constantly, only a bit (about one min. on the clock) then it stops, so I have to keep pressing up and down the button constantly to apply more pitch change. The button is on a Saitek TQ. Does anyone else experience this? -
Thx Zabuza. Then as i wrote the yellow button is to drop bomb or the ext. fuel tank.

Well it is announced on the official update forum by Chizh that the beta module is available now for download. It must be a mistake I guess.
-
Well maybe they had a different system for the k4 from the usual button layout of the kg13. Let's see if we get more feedback about it.

Very nice work. I am wondering if ED has ever considered to make these state of the art manuals available for sale as hard copies.
-
No problem:thumbup:. It looks very neat now.

Very nice Slaw. It is smart to use CAM loading. On the pictures the CAM profile looks symmetrical. It should be assymetrical to give the same load caracteristic on both pedals, given the current CAM arm design.

I am glad you find it useful. By the way it is always the most rewarding to use something what we built/created ourself! You have the trigger and the button clip, so you are over the most challenging part!:)

Nice scratch built!

MSI GTX970 Gaming OC 4GB First Thoughts
VO101_MMaister replied to JaseGill's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I also upgraded to a GTX 970 from an 560Ti. So it was pretty much a leap forward. (CPU is a 2600k @ 4,3Ghz). I am very happy with the results, although the AAA online is still an FPS killer. -
Fw190d9 module crashes since the new patch
VO101_MMaister replied to VO101_MMaister's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
OK, I just deleted the whole dcs from Steam and made a new, standalone install of it. Now everything works. -
Hi, Since the new patch was installed (via Steam), I can`t start any mission or quick mission with the Dora. Every other module (F86, P51) works fine. But If I create a mission or start a quick action, the game starts to load then it crashes with the following screen. Any ideas? Thank you MM

Hi Lizzard, I will give a try today. My DCS was updated by steam though. Can I still use the updater? -
DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails.
VO101_MMaister replied to Mrmaverick's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
My fw190D-9 module fails since the patch. If I try to start an instant action of it, I get this message. Every other module`s instant actions start up just fine. -
OK chaps, I managed to test it. It is truly awesome and immersive, but it is a serious handicap against trackIR equipped opponents considering the exercise you need to put on to follow your opponent in a dogfight or to check the airspace around you. I can only imagine using it online on "Oculus Only" servers.

I just borrowed a Dk2 for the weekend. Now I managed to start the game with it, but I sit somewhat too deep in the cockpit and close to the dash. Can I modify my sitting position? thank you MM

Well I am a ME (if it means sg.), and I am quite sure that the 2x increased torque will wear if not brake the transmission parts. It is not because they are plastic, but because they were designed to a much lower load. Due to the long lever the increasing backslash will be also more noticable. Regarding the pot travel. In a new mechanism it would be no problem to make a simple gearing between the pot/hall sensor and the shaft`s pivot point. But again I am mechanical eng., maybe there is a more elegant, electrical or sw. solution.
-
That is quite an interesting mod. I have one concern. How can the mechanical, plastic components deal with the doubled force and the lengthened lever? I don`t think that the plastic cogwheels were designed with such a safety factor. I still love the mod and make me think about building an FFB stick with new, more powerful motors, and new mechanism, driven by a hacked SW FFB board.

Wow that bracket is quite tricky. I guess you didn`t cast it, but welded it. It had to be some hours of fiddling. Good job!

What about 3d Print?

The Official "Where's my Update" Thread
VO101_MMaister replied to Revvin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Actually Falke is right. I am always amazed how patient this community is. Everything points at Luthier`s habit to promise things and then forget about them has not changed too much. We, who supported the kickstarter are his investors, and the very minimum is to keep us updated on a regular basis. It is not necessary to show awesome new things every week, but a few words to write about the progress cost nothing and takes no time.
