No more than $100.00 to $125.00 you can get LG.PHILIPS LB084S02 with control board for less use them in portrait mode and they will fit in the A-10 C MIP and under the Glare shield.

1. yes it can be back lit 2. easy way to find that is remove the back plate aluminum if there is one remove the pcb with bulbs on it and test the connection to a bulb soldier location. advice read Hansolo's Thread and GS Rain's thread great information in both.

I think you have summed it up nicely why would any one go to the personal expense to share accurate planes for free? When the administrators of that site have openly posted they will use any information from other member to make for profit products for sale. Dick move or not trying to make money off of others work has killed the flow of information on cockpit building.

many of the rotary switches have adjustable stops or on some panels you will have unused extra positions.

I would suggest you use the 2TL6- 1 on off on 0r 2TL6-3 on none on each has two wire positions that will making using it with an Arduino easier.

The main problem doing it your self is not all of the knobs are listed with part # any ware many dont8 have part# or spec sheets.
