  1. interesting :) Got to say though it<s pretty wasy with the 2.5 MV, you show Connector dialog window, slect on left the connector and on right the model you wanna load, only issue being a pain is, now MV doesn't keep windows as it was when we quit it, each time you make a change tot he texture is, quit MV, reload it, reshow liverey window if needed, connector window etc.. only one that stays open is the Shape/Model window :( Even tried the Autoexec to add it where i want the window to appear, but each time it sorta reset it to default and close them all on quitting MV. Also, never was ever able to load the AV-8B Gunpod with my livery texture, was always picture the one in defautl folder, so the AV-6B model was loading on startup my livery or any i selected manualy from the window, the workaround i found was, simply copying the default texture on my desktop and i work on the livery replacing the one int he default folder, once done put back the original file.
  2. I'm using NVIDIA Inspector to limit FPS in ModelViwer since a long time ago, still do, might fixes the issue if you'Re using NVIDIA cards as a fix until the graphic LUA or CFG for in game limitation affects Modelviwer as well.
  3. Dude, if i could, i would Upload your direction right away a 52 foot long tractor-trailer full of beer to cheer up! Thanks a ton, never ever knew how to use these stuff... been a grpahic artist int he print industried and 2D for 20 years but when it comes to 3D stuff i'm so far behind, thanks a ton!!! You know if we can edit the autoexec to make it load by default like liveries and models?
  4. Greetings guys, I was wondering if there is a way to show armements in the ModelViewer, i thought at first at arguments, but i don<t think it counts, i wanna see the gunpod loaded on the AV-8B, as making a camo livery is a pain to fit the camo cntinued on the GunPod by loading/reloading DCS eachtime, unless there<s a quick way to reload the model in game without reloading the entire game with the adjusted Texture, or as mentioned loading it onto the model in ModelViewer. Thanks.
  5. Thanks, never thought of that :) Now also realised i need to use AGM-65D, wa using K, butK seems to have issue on lock and most of the time only lock at 3-3,5 nm versus D around 7-9 NM, unless it's really intented to lock that close... unfortunately though IR D & G for me are hard to use on day time on MAV camera as tuey use IR, wasn't like this on pre 2.5 from what i've seen in videos though. So not sure if it's a feature or incorrect behavior that was wrongly modeled in pre-2.5 or it its is in 2.5.
  6. So far my favorite Module, fun to learn, fun to fly, so many different things to be done with, 4 wayd to land or taking of with, can be refueled in mid air, uses lots of armements, Naval aircraft, which are my favortie things ever.... detailed modeled required for me, my most detailed liveries done, RoughMet Mappings does makes it looks like an alive beast, i even enjoy watching replays. Awesome job so far Raz team! :)
  7. GReetings guys, I know the AV-8B is WIP but i am curious if it's a not implemented yet, bug or not available features on the Harrier, so i ask as curiosity or maybe i am doing something wrong. When using AGM with TPOD help, once you have your target on TPOD, uncage your AGM, TPOD MPCD goes as Nite mode on DMT back to the EHSD, you then press your TDC down button to lock your AGM onto target, then launch, if you wanna get back your TPOD view on the MPCD you were on to see the strike, only way i get to put back the TPOD on MPCD is by going pressing manualy the PB, from Keybindigns i thought pressing the Sensor Select Switch Down would reactivage the TPOD on screen, but nada i might had simply miss understood the keybinding name « HUD Scene Reject/TGP ». In any case, anyways ways to put back the TPOD screen on MPCD without rpessing the PB? I'm right handed, mouse is on same side of the stick, so kinda annoying holding stick left hand and mouse right hand to click, specialy since after launching an AGM the aircraft does suffer a huge weight off balance and need to retrim, ok i presume i have time to retrim, then go back pressing the PB manualy to see the strike :)
  8. And i presume sidewinder name came cause most of the time they are mounted or only able to be mounted on side stations or wing tips stations, never inner wing stations or fuselage stations?
  9. My fav. Module yet, so many different things to do, 4 different way to land and take off... even in early access and WIP it beats the FC3 aircrafts all around. :)
  10. Yep, that<s what i found put as trying, was jsut confused as why the Harreir came with Speculars and Roughmets enabled together, though they couldnt complete each other,s but ran some test after posting. :) Test ended up Roughmets generating a better result for what i wanted than Specs, jsut had to fogure out the diference and what channels does what, thanks to you it all made it clear, really appreciated. :)
  11. Hi Skate Zilla, Awesome thread, thaanks! Been out of DCS for about a year and a few things changed since then... I bought the AV-8B a few weeks ago, and as i made my skin, realised there is a new stuff, the RoughMets.... So here i am discovering it.. You post helped a lot. Thing is, i had the bad idea of going 2D/Printing graphic designer :) So i<m stucked with Photoshop as it comes to skin, got no knowledge at all what soever in 3D modeling or texturizing... So my skin are made with PS only. So i droped my Speculars as used to for this Harrier skin and explored RoughMets, achieving more what i wanted... My question is, as not 3D Max user, achieving a goal manualy with playing around channles gets a bit comlicated, are there any huge advantage as ousing 2 files (6 channels) with RoughMte and Spec, or using RoughMet only could do it well... I<m not satisfied with my RoughMet setup and gonna test if using Speculars added to it does way better, as i tend to make my skins complicated... using 2 different reflections on each colo used, EX light grey and Dark Grey as their own reflection, one being more matt than the other, added to this, decals being a bit more shiney/reflectives, and having a sorta meta texture toward this having some reflection, and wethering resulting also more matt on everything above... Long story to ask as manual skinner, would it give a huge better impact using Spec with RoughMets... i'll have to learn if so, to combine the effect of those 6 channels all together... Not to mention i'm still a bit confused about all these effect working together, i guess i'm a hard to learn person hehe Thanks for any feedbacks, BTW there's a screenshot of what i so far was able to accomplish.
  12. I wouldn't mind giving them away rights and stuff and provide PSD files to them for my RCAF CC-130 skin if they'd wanted to ake it stuck with the game :) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3170141/
  13. Just finish mine, first skin after being out of DCS for aobut a year, bought the Harrier a few days ago, had to create the skin to get in my RCAF fleet, another one to the fleed addition, made the pilot, speculars, since the provided template yet has not a single marking in it, i had to retyped them all, all the NO STEPS markings, all WARNINGS etc... need to say i also did all the numbered metal plates forming the aircraft :P. :) Love this aircraft.
  14. I've been out of the sime for about 6 months, sorry for the late reply. But yep i might be working on it eventualy, i also had some F-5 skin which i never made online before i left a few months ago.
  15. I was finaly able to achieve my goal, ok not as perfect as i would expect, but working out speculars takes quite a few skins to get use to it, it's now paying off.. i wanted brown to be the most matte part, then grey camo a bit more reflective and the grey underneath the fuselage, inbetween both, and all markings and stencils a bit more reflective than the grey camo, so we get reflection on there on any color they are...
  16. Ok Solved, i was just stupid, all i had to do is duplicate each lines in the lua aout the numbers, chaging it to apply to speculars channel with 2 instead of 0, and simply point out my speculars, why didn't think of that, it was so obvious. :S
  17. GReetings I'm having an issue with this module as i try to create my skin, when i use any customed Specular, i got an odd problem, like all the shapes where all the number would appear, show up a more shiny, as if, it reads another specular... or doesn't take into consideration my specular for the spot that the numbers should appear, i did made all number in the lua using the Empty file... to be honest, i'm out of idea, this is the first module i'm having such a hard time with problem with speculars like that, i simply wanna use my own speculars, if i use the speclars provided in the template it's all fine, but once i modify it and save it, i get this behavior with all the 10's and 100's numbers location... see picture, you can clearly see the rectangles more reflective than the rest
  18. Link to Mi-8 updated, now includes Fictional RCAF SAR, Mods to black rotor blades. See first post.
  19. If they end up doing what every single person is asking on here and try to please everyone, you can bet it will be broken, and absolutely normal to get some problems, we just need some common sens. ;)
  20. Ti be honest i didn't remembered which one i used, but visualy remembered in cockpit, i simply shut them all one by one until i found the right one, so many of them, we can easily get confused :)
  21. Ok will do later, but first i<ll try again today, i restarted DCS yesterday to try, but didn't try today after a cold boot. If it reproduce i'll try with my Beta version install to see if it's my DCS copy then since yours is fine...
  22. Nope, fly a SP mission or session, then Quit, you end up in the menu where you can select, either fly again, watch track or save track... if you click Fly again, meaning going back in the mission and retsart, you should as before, restart flying, but now, Fly again and watch track does the same, you get to the replay session, different behavior than a few patches ago, but i just did it this morning since a few time, so just discovered that this morning.
  23. Using 1.5.5.6053 i've just found out that when you leave a mission, and click the Fly Again Button, it will actualy not leave you fly again the mission but act the same as clicking the Watch Track Mission, you end up in the Track Replay....
  24. Yep that's what i've found before posting here, was hoping for a more convenient way to turn it out without clicking once in a while on the wrong breaker lol
  25. Awesome, haven't thought about that one :) Thanks
