  1. One thing I’ll say is that this problem is made even worse when looking at water through the tpod; waves look comically large
  2. Sorry for the late reply, been away from DCS for a while due to a house move. Yup, that’s it. The (either 10mm or 12mm M2.5 I believe) bolts go through the button matrix from the back and screw into the back of the UFC front plate.
  3. Thanks you! To answer your questions: 1) I used M3 button head screws 2) It should be there but I’ll check 3) They’re approximations 4) Yes, feel free to PM me Thanks again! :)
  4. Sorry, I meant to do this a little while ago. Here's the list: Mini toggle Tactile Switch (for buttons) Rotary Pots Rotary encoders (for comms) Awesome, any chance of seeing some pics? I'm curious to know how other people's prints turned out
  5. +1 on this
  6. A little while ago a read somewhere that Razbam were working on the VR pilot body for the Harrier, any idea of this is still the case?
  7. Hi All, I’ve recently returned to VR after flying pancake for a little while and thought I’d start with the instant action PG F-18 free flight mission. After flying around for a few minutes I noticed that it really wasn’t a smooth experience; moving my head left to right, the cockpit was all stuttery. After it almost making me sick, I thought I’d try another map without touching any of the settings and so tried the ready at the ramp NTTR F-18 mission. Wouldn’t you know it, it was as smooth as silk, even on the ground (there were a few stutters here and there but overall, it was a much better experience). Does anyone know if there’s any optimisations that have been made to the Nevada map that are yet to make it to the others?
  8. Not to hijack this thread (although I guess it’s still relatable) but when did we get the ability to see a representation of where the TPOD is looking in the HUD when slewing around (and when in snowplow mode and when a target is designated)? Edit: just came across GR vid
  9. Hi All, Apologies if this has been asked before but how do I go about creating pitching deck conditions with the SC? I'm assuming with the addition of the wind etc?
  10. VIXEN413, I’m going to have to take you up on your offer. As you can see from my designs, the throttles are positioned parallel to what will be the movement of travel and as you mention in your own post, I believe they should be angled around 18 degrees outwards. With that being said, I’m having a tough time trying to figure out what the width of the right throttle unit should be (front and back when viewed from a bird’s eye position) once I include the 18 degree offset. Would you be able to measure yours/provide the measurements you’re working from? Thanks in advance :)
  11. Hi All, After today’s OB update, I thought I’d give the new A/A tracking ability of our trusty LITENING a whirl. After setting up a simple mission where I’m at the 3 o clock position of about 5-6 Russian Bears (around 20nm) I was able to lock (using the AA radar) a target and have the TPOD slave successfully. After using various levels of zoom, I noticed a rather annoying thing when trying to VID the bogey in that the video display of the TPOD was all jittery as it was tracking the aircraft through the sky. Anyone else notice the same when tracking A/A targets using the LITENING?
  12. Can I just ask, with the delivery/release of the ATFLIR for the Hornet, will be get VV and angle of bank etc indicators (ie similar to what Wags just demo’d in his YT video for the A/G radar) that folks were expecting with the LITENING (ie these things in the centre of the screen as an overlay rather than to the bottom left)?
  13. I think you’re partially right, I just 3D printed a prototype (basically as the model is in the images I attached) and I had a hard time slicing both the L & R throttles). I don’t like printing with supports for a variety of reasons but was forced to use them and as such, parts of the model came out pretty horribly. With regards to the electronics, I hadn’t really given it much thought until you mentioned it (sure, I thought about a few button placements but that’s about it). I don’t think I’m going to gut a TM Warthog throttle as it’ll just add to the cost so I’m probably going to but some small push buttons off of eBay and see if I can make it fit. I’m also going to see if I can buy a cheap game pad axis and also jam it in there somehow :)
  14. Thanks VIXEN413! To be honest, I was inspired by your thread a great deal, seems like you’re doing a great job; keep it up!
  15. Yea, I tried to find the OpenHornet throttle but I was unable to in the repo. Also, I don’t know who’s they’re designing their models and the control freak in me wants ultimate control over what I print & build! :)
  16. Hi All, As I'm building my own Hornet VR rig, I thought I'd take a stab at modelling & 3D printing the throttle. Also, I don't really want to pay £700+ for Winging's unit (as great as it looks) and have no need for the left console switches that come with it (wink wink Winwing ;) ) From the pics, you can see that I still have a bit of work to do but I think its coming together nicely. I'm working mostly off of images online (surprisingly, there aren't that many) and a loose schematic that I think the original builders Mason somehow released. The biggest challenge I think I'll have is finding the correct switches for the right throttle control (or even failing that, switches that'll fit inside the housing). If anyone know of the correct boat switches to use, please let me know! As with my other work, I'll be sharing the STLs so it can be 3D printed once complete so please let me know what you think and I'll make improvements! :)
  17. Interesting, I’ve always wanted to go down the route of making my own PCBs but have found it difficult to get stated; I also use Bodnar boards and would like an easier/neater way of connecting 32 or 64 inputs What software do you use to create the PCBs and where do you get them fab’d?
  18. Hi All, Does anyone know if its possible to buy toggles switches that come pre-wired? Or maybe even a service that lets you send off your switches (inc. wire maybe) that then does all the soldering etc? I'm building full left and right console panels for the F-18C and the thought of spending multiple days cutting wire, soldering, heat crimping etc for all the switches is getting me down :) Thanks
  19. +1 They changed the LTD/R switch which required additional texture modelling so I’d be surprised if they didn’t add what you suggest
  20. +1 on this.
  21. I’ve tasked a few times and I’ve never got a response, I too use an Xbox controller and thing being able to bind the right stick to the external view that is spring loaded to centre would be amazing
  22. That’s what I don’t understand, if it’s not correct as per the year/model/vintage of F18 the Hornet is going for, why even include it and spend the dev effort? And why stop there? Why not have 2/3 rack Mavs while we’re at it? Also, the underhanded way it which it was announced that we’ve got Spanish functionality on what is supposed to be an American Hornet (ie until the community bug them enough about it) feels down right deceitful. If ED came out from the start/prior to the OB and just said ‘hey, we’re going to give you guys something that, whilst not period correct, we feel will serve it’s purpose until we release the ATFLIR’ I think I/the community could get onboard (well, a lot easier than this anyway)
  23. Good job! Hopefully we'll get a response from ED
  24. I would love Nine or someone from ED to comment here?
