  1. I just tried the aviation 'no centre' cams and they're horrible. there's about 5cm of play/movement in all directions before the gimbal starts 'pushing' back; even when it starts, the travel left is so short that its pretty much indiscernible that its non-linear. Cams aside, it turns out it may be something to do with the VFX grip and how I naturally hold that stick vs. the TM Warthog/F-18. I swapped out the VFX grip for the TM Warthog and found that the 'wall' I previously mentioned was pretty much gone. Long story short, must be something to do with how the VFX grip is held compared to others that makes the base/gimbal feel different
  2. Interesting. I'm using the default cams which I think are the aviation cams? I'll give the space sim cams a shot now and report back
  3. Hi All, Long story short, I already have a VPC MongoosT-50CM2 base that I'm using with a 10CM extension, the 'heavy' springs and the TM F-18 stick. All movement across the axis/gimbal range is smooth and there's no discernible points in the movement where the springs 'start' (i.e when I pull on the stick and compression really starts to take effect). I bought another 50CM2 base that I thought I'd use with the Virpil's VFX grip and another 10cm extension hoping to somewhat mirror the enjoyment I'm getting out of my first base. However, after taking delivery last week and setting everything up (including added the 'heavy' springs), I've encountering what I think is a bit of an issue. When moving the stick within about 0.5-1CM aft (and to a lesser degree forward), I keep hitting what I can only describe as a compression 'wall'. Putting it as simply as I can, it feels like the gimbal is only starting to compress the spring after moving the stick past this 'wall', even though I can both see and feel (by putting my finger in the hole) the tension adjustment screw moving in turn with stick deflection. Is anyone else coming across this issue? Cheers!
  4. There’s a small hole beneath the the palm rest that you have to stick an Allen key through. I’ve successfully locked mine and it won’t move at all, I think Virpil did a good job here
  5. Anyone else think that the weapon select switch won’t hold up over time? I’m finding a lot of play/wobble in mind and don’t have a lot of confidence in it tbh
  6. Pics and general thoughts?
  7. Just checked mine again, looks like it’s been picked up and is going through the network. Happy days! :)
  8. I'm in the same boat as you although mine is currently scheduled for Thursday. Starting to think it won't be by the end of the week now..
  9. Well, more the case that it helps my sanity as it proves my mind wasn't seeing things that aren't there :)
  10. Yea I experience the same thing. Posted on here a little while about it but no one really commented on it. At least I’m not the only one with this issue :)
  11. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere before but are the left and right displays supposed to match up (in terms of the values that are displayed in the 'EYE LEFT' and 'EYE RIGHT' sections of the tool)? I only ask as I thought/very slightly noticed that I was experiencing a bit of discomfort after putting my Reverb headset on for the first time in about a week (probably didn't notice it before when I used it for a few days after taking it out of the box because I was so giddy about the increase in clarity) and decided to boot up using the tool out of curiosity. Simply put, my values original values were (note that I wasn't able to grab decimal values 4,5 and 6 using the tool so just added 'xxx' below): EYE_LEFT = { L_OUT =1.108xxx, L_IN =0.9474xxx, L_TOP =1.002xxx, L_BTM =1.010xxx, } EYE_RGHT = { R_OUT =1.106050, R_IN =0.947433, R_TOP =1.001386, R_BTM =1.013335, } and my new values after I clicked the 'make symmetric using right' eye button: EYE_LEFT = { L_OUT =1.106050, L_IN =0.947433, L_TOP =1.001386, L_BTM =1.013335, } EYE_RGHT = { R_OUT =1.106050, R_IN =0.947433, R_TOP =1.001386, R_BTM =1.013335, } I noticed a slight improvement in comfort but to be honest I'm not sure if I was having a placebo effect or if I was able to genuinely improve the situation; I guess only time will tell. Do other peoples' values match up?
  12. +1 - I'm a Reverb user and I still still struggle to read the MFDs
  13. You mean when adjusting it via WMR headset settings?
  14. It’s funny you mention that, I’ve adjusted the slider from 59 all the way to 67 and can’t notice any difference in clarity. I was however doing it ‘in real time’ in WMR home but still...
  15. Hi All, I don't know if its been there all along and I've only started to notice it but after putting on my Reverb headset just now, I noticed something a little odd. When looking straight ahead (either in WMR home or DCS) I can clearly see out of the bottom peripheral of my vision what I can only describe as a 'bubble'. When trying to look directly at the this 'bubble' it disappears. I've also noticed that when I push the entire headset closer to my face I can see the rectangle outlines of the HMD's panels which makes me think this 'bubble' I'm seeing is in fact the bottom of the panels. Question is, is anyone else experiencing this? Cheers
  16. Thanks a lot Brun! Should be able to complete my setup rather nicely with this
  17. I've been using my Reverb for the past couple of days and have noticed a bit of an issue and am wondering if anyone else has noticed/experiencing the same. Has anyone seen a slight 'bending' or 'bulge' in the panel's centre field of view? For me, this is most evident when looking outside of the cockpit at the scenery; when moving my head slightly from left to right I can notice a slight distortion in a small oval portion of the vertical view to the point where it looks as though the HMD's panels are slightly bent/distorted. TBH, I don't think you'd notice it if you weren't looking for it. Anyone else experiencing this?
  18. Andre, could you send me a link to your 8 motor seat please? From what I can find on your website, I can only see the 6 version seat! Thanks!
  19. What does he mean by ‘would be 100% and 100% to start?’ Like as I read that I don’t think that sentence makes sense?
  20. I get a ridic amount of flickering during loading which is pretty annoying tbh
  21. Definitely second this motion but I notice a lot of other jets (F14, A-10c etc) don’t have any axis inputs which is pretty annoying
  22. Thought I'd add my two cents. I bought the Samsung Odyssey about 6 months ago from Amazon.com (live in the UK and can't get it this side of the pond). After waiting a week or so I was pumped to finally crack open the box, install WMR and SteamVR etc and fire it up. Like yourself and others, I immediately had double vision; I cannot express how many hours I spent trying to rectify the issue (uninstalling drivers, DCS, wiping temp settings, profiles etc) to no avail. The issue only occurred in DCS. Eventually I cut my losses and sent it back and decided to live with the Rift CV1 and its relatively low res. Needless to say I was excited to hear about the Reverb when it was announced and after monitoring the forums on here and other places, decided to place an order (again on amazon.com) for the second gen headset when it became available last week. I was pretty nervous to be honest as like the Odyssey, the Reverb is a WMR/SteamVR headset so was anxious to know if it I'd run into the same cross-eyed problems again. Well, after cracking open the box and again going through the motions of setting up the software, I was pleasantly surprised by the cross-eyed issue not rearing its ugly head. Its important to note here that my PC hasn't changed at all; the hardware is the same as when I tried the Odyssey Basically, thats my rather long winded way of saying that I firmly believe this issue is headset related and not caused any software. Sure, there may be software related issues but as far as I can work out, they haven't been able to totally fix the issue. My advice would be to send back the headset and get another one.
  23. +1 on that, would be awesome to get my paws on them :)
  24. Hmm I don’t think that’s the case as DCS is still the focal app when I take the headset off. I just had a little flight this morning before work and noticed that the control of the mouse etc comes back once I turn back on one of the Reverb controllers so it seems somewhat related? Is there a way to not need the controls for mouse etc input?
  25. I think I’ve got another issue in addition to what people have noted here. After about 15 mins of flying around, I hear the windows disconnect sound and I’m not able to use the mouse nor my HOTAS for input in VR. When I take my headset off though, I’m able to see the mouse moving around and can use it to click options. Any idea what’s going on?
