Oh the good old days. I really loved my 300 baud modem.
-
what are you doing to kill time for UH-1H huey and patch 1.2.4 release
pii replied to hannibal's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Are you supposed to? -
Thats when your mark point will say its like 800 miles away right?

Thanks I'll try it out. The problem with it though is I've watched a video on youtube for it so many times I know where all the targets are.:P But I'll give it a try and see as all I really want to do is see if what I input to the CDU matches the target. In the few I've flown so far I never see the target or by the time I get it entered the JTAC is going abort abort. I'm like "make up your mind you silly JATC!" :D Now that I think about it knowing where the targets are would help and that is basically what I wanted to do with my own little mission. So good idea glad I though of it:D

That sounds logical but there are controls that you could easily assign a button press to that Ed won't let you in a10c.

I'll admit that one was a little messy. :-) Just so you know (like anyone cares) That is the way we used to do it back in the days before every one and their grandmother had a website with forums. We used to have to go to Usenet and some flight sim group like Alt.comp.flightsim or something like that. It was a basically the forums before we had forums but it didn't have any of this fancy shamcy quoting so I still have some habits from then. But I think if truth be told its not hard to read the one time responses but yeah it gets messing on multi reply responses. Soooo I'll try to admen my ways but as noted earlier I'm and old fart and sometimes old habits die hard. Take care guys and happy flying

Damn that sounds hard. I'm trying to use a scout helo and just want him to call it out. Looks like I need to RTFM. Thanks

You're probably right and I never said it would never be useful or needed. I did have a roll to the right for some reason when I first got my tmwh hotas and i tried trimming it but no matter what I did it just kept Rolling to the right so I put it down to a controller issue and adjusted some axis settings. I tried to explain it to my trimming nemesis but he didn't seem interested. Oh well. The issue is gone now so I'm back to not trimming, yet.:-) I'm trying to learn jtac and entering coordinates in the CDU now so where is a good thread to ask mission creating questions? I want to setup a mission where I know were the target is and see if they match where the FAC tells me they are because in missions I never find %$%# where they tell me the target is. So far in my missions my FAC doesn't want to talk to me though.

Why can't you read it properly? Read the black text and then read the red text i.e. the reply. Frankly, if I may call you Franky, I think everyone has figured it out so stop picking on my or I'm going to cry.<-- just look at my sad face

Yes the advantage of the software is it is just suppling key presses so as long as you have the correct keypress assigned it should work. (I havn't programmed a x52 in awhile so hopefully that hasn't changed) Assigning buttons to the config in a-10 is generally easier, IMO, though and by assigning modifiers you can pretty much do it all that way. But , and I don't know why, sometime ED doesn't let you assign certain things to certain devices, as you've found out, and that can throw a kink into your plans. Instead of trying to program the whole thing you may want to just add to your config as you learn the sim. I find it easier to remember what I've programmed that way and you don't have to learn someone elses profile on top of learning the sim. So how do you like your new toys ? You gst the TrackIR yet? opps never mind just went back and saw your Alice Band snicker snicker :-) I got to say that doesn't look to comfy with all those teeth, you must really hate headphones.

The orignal post had nothing to do with Real life or how it is done in real life. It was related to the game. By the way I'm no kid and way over 40. I may be a smart-ass though:thumbup:

I qoute just fine it's way to hard to cut out each point in a message and add those stupid Ouote marks. Feel free to do it if you like I'll stick with mine.

Well it might help if you told us what the problem is? But every module has its own config for joysticks and keyboards so while it might work fine in one module it may not be set up properly in another. There are even two different configs for each module one for SIM and one for GAME modes. So (and I'm not sure) training may use game mode and thus work while your "Sim" mode is not set properly. Anyways tell us what the problem is and maybe we can be a little more helpful

Gezzz you guys can make a flame war out of anything. All I said was the poster made some good points but insisted you had to trim trim trim to use AP. That is clearly not the case, at least not for everyone. If you want to carry on and try to prove you guys are never wrong and have a never ending flame war just to prove your point then... OK OK OK YOU Have to trim trim trim to use AP I was crazy to ever think you didn't. I beg for your forgiveness! How can I ever show my face again, such shame I have never known :music_whistling: Feel better now? So lets move on and start fighting about what does high and mighty mean? Is it some sort of pilot thing? Gezzzzzzzzzzz I'm out I have to go trim trim trim my a-10 now because if I don't Auto pilot will not work..remember that kids.
-
Here is a quick ,demo, track with only one wing loaded. Yep it flies really bad and the AP disengages but once I even out the load (no weapons in this case) my plane flies pretty damn straight and level. It slowly lost some altitude but a little throttle brings it up no need to trim and the AP works fine and I can go pee for hours in this configurations  I also went back and veiwed your trk again and I see while your bombs are loaded the same on both sides you do have a AA missile and a pod loaded on one side also so I guess that could cause that roll. So I did a similar payload and it did roll but still not as bad as yours and the AP still worked and was able to correct the roll for me. Sorry forgot to save track :-( I do that all the time. Take care trim unbalanced mission.trk
-
I'm going to load up the a10 on one side and I'll post the track to see how bad I roll later. If you're interested in trying to figure out why you are rolling so bad let me know and I'll check my setting but I'm done with this trim conversation as I never meant for it to become a flame war so lets move forward, ok? Cheers
-
I noticed it rolls the same way no matter what and I had the same thing happen when I first got the WH. I even though I had a bad stick but it went away (didn't do anything it just stopped) but it does come back from time to time. When it happened to me even trimming didn't stop the roll to the right . Here's my track and although I roll to the right also its not anywhere near as bad as yours. Also I need to learn how to use selective jettison I dropped everything opps, I'll try again when I wake up. But you can see I don't have a lot of fighting going on and can use AP no problem trim mission.trk
-
Anyways I said you made a lot of good points but I'm sorry I didn't know you liked firing off all your weapon from one wing and then tring to fly around like that, nor was that your statement. My bad. Cheers
-
Well I can't say I m fighting it as it flies fairly straight but I'm sure I could trim it to make it fly straighter. Maybe I have never trimmed it due to the fact I use the AP a lot but the post I referenced said you wouldn't be able to use the AP if you weren't trimmed and clearly that is not the case. Or maybe I read it wrong, if so sorry. Later

Well from the looks of this thread you'll sell a few more than one. Count me in if they're in the 125 to 150 range.:joystick:<---me with my new F18 stick

Just download it.(You don't ever have to pay up front, only when you need a key) Install it and on your first take off it will ask you for a key, use Steam key and your good. Actually if I remember it can even find your Steam key and you may not even have to enter it if A-10 is installed and activated in Steam. (But I may be wrong) either way you're good. Now get to learning you have a lot more confusion ahead of you. :D I don't know why the say to buy all modules at the same site other than they want to sell them to you themselves. However buying them from ED's site they do keep a record of your purchase and your keys so re installing is easier having all the info in one place. Just hope you never need their Support Dept because you will be waiting a long time for a response a LONNNNNNNNGGGGGGG time:mad:

Easier said than done. I had a wingman take off behind me and ran right up my tail pipe and blew us both to pieces. Guess who committed fratricide? Yeah me  I guess I should have had my flashers on so the dumdass knew I wasn't moving. Basically anytime you are involved n killing a freindly even if its not your fault you get the blame. :pilotfly::joystick:
