Man... you should quit what are you drinking because you are still sliding away downhill  OT I guess by now we can conclude that the best trainer made in DCS World is L-39 and is made by ED and they didn't had anything to learn anyway... beside building the dual sitter code which could have been be done for any dual sitter not only a trainer given their experience. We could at least in a "bar discussion" agree that the other teams that made trainers failed lamentable in their quest of "learning". One sold a similar plane with L-39 (two versions) but at (still) lower quality than L-39 but bigger price and since 2 years they had little progress and lot of struggle without a EFM to really teach something. The second sold a trainer in indisputable low quality and without thinking from the start at dual seat in multiplayer which is basically the main purpose of doing a trainer aircraft. The third team was wise enough to drop their development and moved to a iconic fighter which progressed very well in one year, brought them money and fame. They are example to be followed not the failed experiments of low selling expensive to develop and buy trainers. There was a fourth team that started a trainer and I don't want to mention anything more about them beside their trainer would have been probably the most shameful because it could have been directly compared with the jewel(s) EDs L-39 is(are). All these said, I would really love a talon a T-38. Who knows. Lastly I want to reiterate my advice for any team interested in "money and fame" -Don't build trainers. -Build something that will bring new players not milk the existing ones if you manage to fool them with some patriotic bs (eg I wouldn't build a IAR 99 Soim even if it would trash any trainer done by other 3rd parties). Think outside the box. Build a DCS Sky Diving. Code a FM for a skydiver and make good controls for him (and the rest of ejectable pilots so everyone could enjoy). No complicated avionics needed just pure EFM but simple one. Build around ME so this can be easy to use and bring people into the fun of it. Make people enjoy the Sand Box DCS is without big costs and with big sales. Then build a darn An-2 :joystick:

So I asked a former MF Mig21 pilot about this issue... sure MF is not Bis just like the version USA tested is not the Bis... but he said when I asked if it was any limitations on these zero G and negative G maneuvers that they had none beside the fuel quantity. I asked him again if he had any fear of shutting the engine if he had done a "lid" (this is how we say usually to a negative G maneuver executed from level flight... when you simply push the stick and you start diving) and he said simply: "No". The only problem he said was that the fuel tank for negative g /upside down flying is very small but still you could fly a bit over 5 seconds upside down without worrying. He joked that the designer of the fuel pump got some big decoration in former URSS. :)

Critical mass for this would be achieved when Mig21 fans will be joined by Viggen fans... just before F-14 ships out (hopefully) :D.

Here is one crash. some notes: I had the tacview disabled for recording last 3 days and had no crash. Now I activated it and it crashed promptly. The acmi files have no info I think. They are two but I think the zero kilobytes (lol) one is the one you need the other one in size of 1kb is just a previous connect and manual disconnect. Tacview doesn't make any logs, right? I had the tick on extra information (debug mode) this time but the file is 0kb as I said. Logs.zip

Twitch2DCS - Simple twitch chat UI inside DCS
zaelu replied to Jabbers_'s topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This is so cool! I wonder if you could build one for Youtube stream? -
They should work together but make sure you have export.lua not cluttered. When I upgraded ro TacView 1.53 (first one integrated in DCS menus) I had duplicate lines form Tacview (e.g. same instruction several times, sometimes deactivated with -- sometimes not). For Tacview 1.54 I uninstalled first 1.53 and made sure all Export.lua was cleared of Tacview references and whan I installed it all was OK.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
zaelu replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I think there is a problem with it still. The server now doesn't update the clients. We are on server but we see each other static although we taxi or take off, etc. This message keeps repeating... not sure it has anything to do with it but... it might -
I can confirm too. I had the impression it has something to do with how much G's I pulled but it happens also in straight flight. Randomly.
-
I will try to do that!

I have observed some crashes (CTD) when trying to click o "back to spectators" when Tacview 1.5.4 was active. It seems it doesn't happen when I turn off recording of Tacview. Anyone else observed this?

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
zaelu replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I would call it buggy... for now. You don't say it's unrealistic if when you eject from a plane you see 500 canopies isn't it? :smartass: -
I did it just to be sure.
-
All 3 are used in Blue Flag or just the known one on port 5010? Also, any chance of integrating SRS in DCS yourself like Vyrtuoz did with his TacView 1.53?

Would you prefer TS in real life too? Also, have you ever tried Discord? Because if you imagine TS would be better in real cockpit you imagine it without all the silly work of creating servers and adding channels and whispers (and modifying whispers) and passwords etc, exactly where Discord shines, not to mention it works great on tablets or phones and would work with a glass cockpit better than "stuck in the past" TS. But since we try to recreate here also the atmosphere from these jets we have in DCS... SRS is better than anything. If only it would be integrated in DCS by default. -

I did also same guess for last week and found no one. I flew few times with people in TS but I wish SRS would be used more. -

Is Simple Radio Still used? What is the IP port? I understood that you have 3 ports now? Which is which? Thank you! -
You either take your headset off and operate the normal monitor or you need to use Trinus VR to make it bend your images so they will fit the lenses. If you use only Moonlight the images on the phone are normal/straight not adjusted for headset/lenses type. I prefer the normal straight mode myself with my headset as it looks best and also cuts the middle man Trinus VR. At least for now...
-
Same happens with Mirage 2000k. Same workaround as Uboats said. Or repeat the process until it works.
-
Yeah... it's OK... :) They are pretty different and maybe later it will be handy to have them both. For the moment I don't see the use of image warping options Trinus brings. Do you use them? If yes what settings? I tried a few and it was pretty bad distortion. With streight images I see no problems.
-
Today I discovered I don't necessarily need Trinus VR for this, I can use only Moonlight. Bad thing was that I discovered literally 15 minutes after I bought the full version of Trinus. :D You don't even need to check the VR in VR tab... just Stereo and you are set. Of course you have to provide the head tracking via Trackir etc.

I got my BoBo VR BS :D Here is my initial impression: 1. I never tried VR before. Never. 2. First time I saw it (I was in Mig21) I had the impression I was in a diorama, but I think this was because I saw the plane inside as I have put my headset on. After a while the sensation disappeared and I noticed that it actually looks a lot better than a 24" screen I have (usually at maximum 50cm from face). 3. I think this is awesome for us but I wouldn't recommend this setup unless people don't expect high quality and money back. It's like a demo and looks great for somebody that never used VR. Here are some details about my setup. Bobo VR4 with a mere Samsung Galaxy S4 :D. Headtracking was pretty decent in speed but because the tracker (home made for opentrack) was normally used in lower position and without the googles to obstruct it I lost track and had jumps all over when I turned my head left. Still awesome :D . I used Wireless with moonlite and I didn't observed lag except from some freezes of on second maximum... probably my phone was struggling. I don't understand how Oculus and Vive got out on the market without wireless if I with a junk phone can have a decent experience? I would have put 2 Wireless AC adapters if necessary in the rift and a super dongle to create a virtual network to connect with it (just like this sorry setup does with bluetooth). Power cord is acceptable and a battery pack anyone could attach to themselves from after market... Anyway... I am impressed of the potential even with this. I am glad I didn't tried VR before because maybe I would have had problems resisting the urge to buy Oculus or Vive :) . sniperwolfpk5, I want to thank you for your effort to bring this to the forum and for the help in setting it up! Speaking of which I have a question, what settings do you use in Trinus for headset etc?
