  1. I got my BoBo VR BS :D Here is my initial impression: 1. I never tried VR before. Never. 2. First time I saw it (I was in Mig21) I had the impression I was in a diorama, but I think this was because I saw the plane inside as I have put my headset on. After a while the sensation disappeared and I noticed that it actually looks a lot better than a 24" screen I have (usually at maximum 50cm from face). 3. I think this is awesome for us but I wouldn't recommend this setup unless people don't expect high quality and money back. It's like a demo and looks great for somebody that never used VR. Here are some details about my setup. Bobo VR4 with a mere Samsung Galaxy S4 :D. Headtracking was pretty decent in speed but because the tracker (home made for opentrack) was normally used in lower position and without the googles to obstruct it I lost track and had jumps all over when I turned my head left. Still awesome :D . I used Wireless with moonlite and I didn't observed lag except from some freezes of on second maximum... probably my phone was struggling. I don't understand how Oculus and Vive got out on the market without wireless if I with a junk phone can have a decent experience? I would have put 2 Wireless AC adapters if necessary in the rift and a super dongle to create a virtual network to connect with it (just like this sorry setup does with bluetooth). Power cord is acceptable and a battery pack anyone could attach to themselves from after market... Anyway... I am impressed of the potential even with this. I am glad I didn't tried VR before because maybe I would have had problems resisting the urge to buy Oculus or Vive :) . sniperwolfpk5, I want to thank you for your effort to bring this to the forum and for the help in setting it up! Speaking of which I have a question, what settings do you use in Trinus for headset etc?
  2. Yes it is possible. Some (including myself) consider this a from of cheating. But when procedural things will be more prevalent in DCS engine... it would be far better, FPS might increase and the bad aspects of texturing would be gone.
  3. Best solution. Just respawn the plane with the new skin if you like. Instant "reload". As for the problems... all can be solved no "blocking solution" is good enough. The default skins can be changed without triggering Integrity Check so "forcing default" to avoid cheaters with "transparent plane" is useless. Also it has to be noted that the current system in DCS is more of a design choice took 15 years ago after LOMAC than some clever anticheat eons resisting strategy. I wish ED would do monthly contests o skins building and best of them to be included in a special downloadable pack that would extend the skins pool and increase community involvement into the sim. I wouldn't mind a secondary pack with squadron skins if they pass a quality check standard and are chosen by ED (even in a 100% discretionary way). As for the actual menu. I wish the user could if mission designer allows choose not only a skin from the pool but also the numbers. Most of the times we fly with same number all over because it is a pain to assign individual one to each plane. I think default one works OK. Black could bring visibility issues in to discussion.
  4. Did you read what he said or you just reacted out o fear? "A solution" for you in case that joking BAN poll option was the problem would be to somehow establish a FOV for each screen. Anyway banning is not an option. @theGozr If you use an axis for FOV adjustement in game you can limit the axis in "Axis Tune" Menu. If not you might have a chance by editing the server/customviews.lua from User folder. There are people that report they had success with it and that folder is not part of IC.
  5. I'm not sure this is OK... A lot of things are strange there... hm... (this is from last night mission)
  6. There is no overlay. It's how it looks when the light dims out. It's like an artefact of compression... like instead of 8bpp it shows less... 6 or even less. Try putting one single plane on a mission on an empty airfield (Anapa is a good one) and then just accelerate time really really much and watch the night setting.
  7. I use TracIR only in that window. If you used freetrack protocol before "it will feel" very different and you will have to make new adjustments in the program profile.
  8. Thanks for the help. Both problems solved. 1. Stereo mode in DCS Options/monitors mandatory. 2. I have to select nothing in sensor in Trinus not TrackIR so I can normally use TrackIR interface! I had selected TrackIR and it was messing with the interface that fed DCS itself. I guess it was creating a second Trackir or something. I also managed to make it use moonlight but it doesn't "distort" the images to be used with lenses. That makes it useless with a head mount? It looks like this (sorry for the crappy shot :) but it's a start. I will order a head mount too :)
  9. You know all those stories about bad statistics, right? Returning to Blue Flag.... from last night. IFF problems much? Sometimes tracks work flawlessly... ;)
  10. Is there a tutorial on how to set this up from scratch? -I installed trinusVR on the phone -I installed trinus server -I had setup few things there and I can see my phone either by USB teetering or through router (I prefer through router because it doesn't add new network adapter/address and my Mig21bis activation bulldog stays put) -I start DCS go to VR option enable VR -I start a mission and get inside the cockpit I have video on screen and on Phone Video on the monitor is normal Video on the phone is split/doubled (2 moving images like it should... I guess) But 1. I don't think the images on the phone are different at all (left eye right eye) 2. Trackir is picked a bit bad and pitch axis is inverted no matter if I check or not the invert box in trinus server app. ( I have actually OpenTrack that outputs only TrackIR) So how do you make sure the images are different on the phone? Is it normal to still get a normal 1080p image on the screen? Shouldn't it be split too? I don't have a headset as I am just trying to figure out if it's worth it. So far it kinda looks like it works but I am not sure.
  11. The problem is "maintenance mode" is 95% of the time. So you will have airquake 95% of the time of the year so this server will be nothing more than an airquake. Sticking with "your" side for long term can make you take decisions on long term. Switching sides just dilutes everything into a boring air-quake. Why I say air-quake. You won't switch sides to re-conquer what you just captured 10 minutes ago with the opposite side isn't it? That would be complete nonsense. You want to switch sides just to take on the enemy (ex friendly fighters). - Airquake. The idea of Blue Flag was to be different than this. You can't have 95% air-quake then suddenly be serious when the match starts. That's why I proposed dropping altogether the "numbering" as ROUNDs. Call them "Versions" and make them run continuously. Also AI should be more prevalent not less. Fighters or ground units. Frontline should move hard else should offer just a warzone for skirmishes. Frontlines should be assured with hard to get SAM sites.
  12. This is to stop people from switching sides just to see what the enemy is doing. You can ask for side switching to an admin (here or in chat or on Buddyspike forums). Obviously if you want to switch each 5 minutes will deny you, also if you are a switcher on a daily basis.
  13. Just wait that F-14 will be in full swing production to have some good fun with AJ37 pilots. Now they are spoiled... :D
  14. try deleting the files located in: C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\M-2000C The game will recreate them and you can start from scratch. The bug is ugly as not only happens to some and not to others but it can happen several times in a row while trying to assign a key or axis then suddenly disappear 3rd time you try or at some point if you are relentless. I tried once to record a movie while it happened and it simply vanished :) .
  15. Maybe the direction should be towards continuous campaign without numbers and when Korea is ready a new server should be made. Same for Case Blau, etc. Bugs and features can be fixed or added without the need of a new increment. Just when they are available.
  16. If you try the training missions your doubts might vanish :) .
  17. Indeed. That thing in the manual is just a game/joke information. :)
  18. Maybe they take into consideration talking with hand signs :) . About the 2nd nozzle, info is in the manual on page 168. Here is a screenshot Basically, when AB is On, the nozzle is opened fully but it should close when AB is turned off. If it fails to do so the engine will not have enough power hence the manual setting (to close) and the emergency.
  19. Some people want to be mysterious... you shouldn't interrupt them.
  20. That was fun to read. No offense :) .
  21. 1. controls only the radio. Up=On Down = Off Crew is beside you on the ladder and you can talk with them without the radio. I think DCS has a small issue now that you can talk (in any plane/helicopter) with crew and rearm even with canopy closed. It used to be mandatory to either use intercom if available (example Ka-50) or open the canopy to speak directly by yelling :) 4. As Grunf said. The green annunciator just tells you that the nozzle is open not that is a problem with that. Is green! The switch controls it in case of failure. You close it with that switch to keep gases inside engine more to build pressure in case of malfunction.
  22. Cut the engine at 60kmph and electric power. Don't forget to pull your legs as you eject! :D
  23. I heard this numerous times since 3rd parties have appeared and I think is a bit "unprofessional". Work is measured in work hours not since you started. Work is not like smoke quitting. Look, Razbam started the EFM of the Mirage 2000C 2 years ago at least. We know who the coder is. He delivered a year ago a proto EFM and now the FM is so tuned that is basically a different animal. And it will be tuned still. Same for Mig21Bis. What will happen when you will start MirageF1? 4 years of "work in some evenings"? And don't tell us it will be simpler because you learned with C101 because it's not same plane... remember? CC and EB are different planes for you. 20$+30$ (I see you edited out that part from first post... but still you have so called "free"- "travelling salesman" thingy. My only hope is that another third party will learn from your experience and instead of starting a unknown plane build 4 cockpits for it and try o sell it at a premium "pre-sell" price for years of alpha... they will simply start a WW2 bomber. I am sure they will have a lot more support.
