I have been trying to create missions where I can activate different groups via F10 radio menu and I encounter a small problem with it. The problem can be described the shortest like this: When first time spawning and picking one slot the radio menus are switched between coalitions. Meaning if I spawn as RED first time I get the menus for Blue. If I respawn as RED the menus are back to normal. Even if I pick the first unit again it will have correct menus. I attach a test simple mission where the bug appears only for red. It used to appear for blue also until I changed the date of the mission. I am not sure if this is a simple coincidence or a correlation/causation. To test it. Simply spawn in a Su25 (there are 2 available) and try to use radio F10 to activate an enemy Blue APC. You will see you only have the option to activate the RED one. Then, respawn in the second Su25 and you will see now you have the correct option to activate the Blue APC. Spawn back to first Su25 and you will see again you are back to normal. Radio menus test.miz

Training Missions bug tracker / improvements
zaelu replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Training Missions
I would say the contrary. The perception from within the cockpit while having the seat raised is very confusing for some players. Also because the cockpit shape is not a standard one. Best way would be to have these informations also: Distance from where you should start your approach. Altitude Sink rate(s) depending on weight. Approach speeds and touch down speeds Yes they are "calculated" automatically and all you need is to align those chevrons and brackets and signs but the 2D perspective most o us use can add errors into this especially on final moments. Especially because these are not covered at all in the manual. Another suggestion I have about the INS tutorials. If you are planning to retouch them maybe it would be a better way to call the INS button on the PCN "INSERT" instead of "I.N.S.". Because... again is very very confusing even if I know what you mean. You are talking about the I.N.S. (aI eN eS :P ) system and saying casually pres "I.N.S." is strange. What I.N.S. to press? The whole PCN panel? Is it loose? :D The key is better called INSERT which is a direct equivalent of ENTER. Is like the Key on A-10C that is shorted ENT. I am sure our English speaking friends would have no problem to understand that Insert means "to insert/enter those numbers into the system" but saying "aIeNeS" it just confusing. And since we are at it. Finally I got it... "BUT" is not an acronym but the french word for "goal" (ha ha... I am a French Language apprentice... an older and slower one) but ( :P ) maybe the meaning of BAD would be nice to be explained too. You know BAD BUT would mean "Bad Waypoint" for some "minds" :) . Oh and when you translate But in the training mission maybe you should say: BUT means waypoint in this situation. Or is equivalent of waypoint in this situation. -
Get well Zeus! :cold: Codeine is an opiate so those effects are expected.

Training Mission 10 (INS Offset bombing) cannot update INS
zaelu replied to Home Fries's topic in Training Missions
Thanks for explanation of the stick. Regarding the two buttons... do they normally serve different purposes? Iirc at least the OBL is made with either AG Designate/INS Update or Nav Update. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
zaelu replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Let's not exaggerate the biggest MMORPG didn't had one for most of its history. I hope ED doesn't wait that much though to move in this direction. The ability not only to use VOIP build in the game but to use one so greatly matched with the content of the game like Ciribob's Simple Radio is an unique experience. -
Training Mission 10 (INS Offset bombing) cannot update INS
zaelu replied to Home Fries's topic in Training Missions
I think the cross does not update. Not sure is this how it is suppose to happen but it was reported several times before and nothing was said about it. Because that mission has airstart and is very short time since you start till you bomb you can skip updating and simply pass over IP and proceed to target (BAD) What means "stick length"? Also "Nav Update" has same function as "AG Designate/INS Position Update "? -
Training Missions bug tracker / improvements
zaelu replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Training Missions
I will try it a few times more no problem. I just wanted to say that I found it difficult and I do have a few landings with Mirage (I would say many attempts but not so many good landings as the whole thing is really confusing for me :D... but I can land the Mig21 no problem and I landed it without issues from the beginning if this could be a sign of how much can I land a plane in DCS.) -
Training Missions bug tracker / improvements
zaelu replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Training Missions
I find that the ILS landing training mission is difficult to follow. The final part is taking place in a low visibility which creates a lot of disorientation spatial and temporal (sense of speed is lost) and because time it's becoming short instructions/informations are lost. Also... the dashed line is pointing with which end? IMHO the informations should be given when there is no time pressing. You can't expect someone to land through the clouds and learn some new notions about ILS etc. Take in consideration that one is suppose to talk with the ATC also so when the lady speaks... nothing else is understood. I find the experience as frustrating as a game where you are expected to fail several times so "you know where your enemies are in advance" and you make your moves automatic. -
The Détecteur de Départ Missile (DDM) - Bugs and observations.
zaelu replied to Zeus67's topic in Resolved Bugs
I am curious how it's done in real life such separation. I would input the position of the sun into INS GPS etc and just filter out alarms made in that area. -

zaelu replied to Zeus67's topic in Resolved Bugs
What is misleading? The fact that in reality the device is mounted only on the D model, the plane that has ground attack role? I wouldn't take it as a "misleading" rather more like a "hint" or a "clue". I hope it sees also the sun as "a launch" as you turn circles with an enemy. Maybe then it will be clear why it's not working as people imagined. M2KC is not F35. -

zaelu replied to Zeus67's topic in Resolved Bugs
Disregarding time? I think (thought?) that the alarm will be present 10 seconds so maybe after first alarm no other alarm will be given for 10 seconds? Or maybe the bug is here... like the counter doesn't reset after 10 seconds? -

Read this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2963498&postcount=1 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2969690&postcount=162 and https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2969718&postcount=165 These sensors are not your magic saviors. What you want exists only in Battlefield games. If implemented properly in DCS they should help sometimes if the threat is in their range and maybe if they are not confused (aka turn them towards the Sun, Explosions, etc). So don't trust your life to them because you will die most of the times then. -
Not necessarily. Some cameras are more prone to IR light (human light not so much). Their sensors are not so fast many times so an image might stay longer and the optics can flare a lot. For example when you try to take a photo in difficult lighting situations (big contrasts, sun almost in view, high reflections, etc) you will see that the image captured with the camera is far worse (over blown by light) than what you can see.

For this I created a mod where I copied all the ENG sounds to RUS folders.

IMHO all places are suitable for Multicrew-ing. Some would really want to play even as engineer. A full loaded Mi-8 with people and drinks would be loads of fun. Once I flew with the wheels dipped in the water for long time and boy I would have loved to have an engineer to scream that I burn his engines... I couldn't raise from the water anymore and after struggling for half a minute the engines failed and we drowned. And by the way.... I also would love to be able to jump off the helicopter with some life raft or even chutes.

the flash could be visible only by the low quality camera sometimes.
-
At this point yes, but if the entire back cabin is modeled to be able to take troops... maybe later will have use/immersion.
-
Yes, it seems once you put gunners hardpoints are mandatory... I also wished to have them without hardpoints.
-
I think only in "game" (arcade) mode not "simulator".

"ARGO" DCS UH-1H SP Campaign - Upcoming DLC
zaelu replied to gregzagk's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
Any chance for a coop capability? Maybe we get multicrew too for Huey till release? -
Yes, when you press the trigger the bombs are released instantly although the cue is not yet crossing the FPM. The trigger remain pressed all this time and after.
