  1. ThunderBirds huh?? Sounds like a new action figure in the GI Joe section of Toys R Us... Ill have to keep an eyeball out for these guys and see how good their show is.:D
  2. who are these guys again ? Are they worth the money is what i want to know?:D
  3. Well I found the answer to my own problem in lockonfiles.com. It seems I had to edit the graphics.cfg file. There are three places you must edit if you are having this problem. The Display Mode, Interface, Simulation all have to be changed so that they reflect your desktop resolution settings. Once this is done you should be able to run Lockon once again with the model. For further details post here or pm me and ill be more than happy to explain in detail for ya.
  4. Well the Texanator is ready and fueled up ... just let me know what side I need to kill ....:D.
  5. Not sure if anyone has downloaded this wonderful looking model but I did and have problems with it crashing lockon on startup. I use Loman 2.1 final and am trying to stay away from using Modman 5 and Loman 2.1 final at the same time, as they have had conflicts on my rig in the past. Problem: I use loman 2.1 final to install the model with the loman 2.1 compatible download from the site above. Note: I have tried both loman 2.1 and 2.1 final to install the model and still they both crash to desktop on startup. Once I uninstall the model Lockon runs as it is supposed to with no problems. I realize that the answer to this problem is probably going to be .. " Switch to Modman 5 to install the model" but Im hoping that there is a Loman compatible version out there some place. Or perhaps a quick fix for this otherwise unknown issue. I have pm'ed TekaTeka but still have gotten no response as im sure he is a busy man . KYS on the other hand I dont know if he has a screen name here in lockon.ru. But I have tried to reach him at lockon-models.com. Help would be appreciated to anyone who might know how to fix this problem , I am open to suggestions. Thanx in advance, Tex:joystick:
  6. is the water PS'ed as well? never seen water like that in LO .. hehe

  8. Sorry to butt in ... but the only way I was able to know for sure that I had all the ATI drivers removed from my computer I used Driver Cleaner Pro . But I caution you to remove the drivers with this program and then immediately install drivers that you find on ATI's website. Because once you use this program if you restart your computer you will not have the basic drivers to run your computer in its 256 color mode ... or whatever. I could be wrong about this but this is what happened to me. Make a long story short this program is a great way to cure any video card issues caused by corrupt drivers ... or in your case programs crashing to desktop due to conflicts caused by drivers. This gives you a fresh clean slate to start from so that you can install drivers that you know are good and not install good drivers over bad ones which places back at square one. I know Im getting a little long winded but try re-installing your drivers in this order. 1. use ATI uninstall utility 2. restart (this should render your desktop to the ugly 256 color mode) 3. once your back at desktop (assuming you already downloaded and installed DC pro) fire up DC pro and click "ok". The setup is pretty self explainatory just remember to click the little box that says mutiple options or something like that. 4.Then from the drop down box on the right go through all the selections that say ATI and add them to the list. I suggest selecting all of them just to ensure that you have all drivers removed. 5.Click the start button and then click "ok". It will take a few seconds and then your done. If you want you can click the "details" tab and it will show all the drivers that were removed. 6. Now assuming that you have downloaded the latest drivers for your card from ATI fire up the installation wizard and install your new drivers. Sorry I went all out on you there but I know the pain and suffering that comes with Video Card drivers as I just went through this with a previous ATI card. Hope this helps bud. Tex
  9. Hey i downloaded this DivX and now all my media devices dont work .... including DivX. The only thing that plays is the Audio .. anyone know how to undo this ????
  10. If im not mistaken you have to assign him to your flight as well as your wing. So when you create the mission make sure that in the box where it asks how many pilots you want .. choose 2. This will give you a wingman in the same flight as you. Now dont quote me ,because LOMAC has a mind of its own when it comes to mission making ... any one of these seasoned veterans here can attest to the headaches that accompany mission making in LOMAC, but this should force your wingman to land with you. Provided that you dont give him any orders that would complicate the already ridiculous intelligence of the AI. Such as giving him the order return to base, complete the mission and then join up, or any of the few orders that you can give your wingy in LOMAC. The way I always look at it is , once I give him an order I dont expect to see him again ..... ever :D . Its kind of a ugly truth for Lock On that this game as well as the AI have a mind of their own. Having said that I have had my wingy (AI) land with me in formation but it was one of those strange moments that you never have any control over ... nor can you ever figure out how to do it again. But the above is my best explanation for it so it is possible but not probable ... hehe. Good luck bud:thumbup: If all else fails have someone fly with you. If you cant find anyone give me a buzz ... Ill fly with ya. Tex
  11. I seem to remember this incident taking place and it being posted in here but, for the sake of this post being posted in vain, I dont recall the reason this guy could not get out of the aircraft. So in short instead of making this a "Dude this is year old news thread" why dont we make it into a "Why was this guy stuck in a multi million dollar aircraft that should have been designed to allow the pilot to escape the aircraft no matter what happens" ...... thread. So why was this guy stuck? And what did they do to fix the problem? Thats what I would like to know. Most , if not all , fighter aircraft have some sort of emergency jettison for the canopy ... why the didnt use that instead I dont know?
  12. Another thing you can try, and please dont kill me for mentioning this :D as you may have already tried it, but never the less try this. Its more like doing it manually than using the mouse, which you have more freedom and control over. 1. While your recording , or however your planning to implement the smooth scrolling, Hit F2 then hit ESC. This should bring up the usual dialogue asking you if you want to quit the game yadda yadda yadda. Simply press the ESC button again (I believe thats how I did it) and this should render your mouse useless to pan your view. Now I know your thinking this defeats the purpose but hear me out. As I said before this is a manual method of panning your view that is a lot smoother than using the mouse. Now use either your num pad or the arrows , not sure which one or both might work, to pan your view. You should notice that its very smooth ... the only thing bad I think is the speed starts slow and then speeds up, but this can be easily be fixed by chaning the scroll speed in the settings i believe. If you want to use your mouse again all you have to do is hit ESC and when the dialogue shows up this time you press cancel with the mouse pointer. And voila your mouse is operable again. Hope this helped out Tex:D
  13. Heck yea Frazer cant wait to fly in the same skies with you again. Really enjoyed your performance in the last VFAT dude:thumbup: . Hope to see you there again.
  14. Its just the F15 cockpit Kato was careful to only show the top half of it so that it would not detract from the movie. He did a good job huh? :D

  17. Hey Amraam, I feel so tarded calling you a missle, would you happen to know where i could download free plug in's for Vegas 6.0. Or could you point me in the right direction as far as editing movies? I just need to know if the secret to making the breath taking footage that you aquire is from lots of creative thinking in the editing room ... or did you download some plug ins from a good website? If its creative thinking then say no more I wouldnt want you to give up your secrets for me .... I will have to think outside the box a bit more but Im having a hard time finding plug ins for vegas. thanx in advance. Tex:D Edit: Oh BTW nice work your doing there.
  18. Ian, welcome to the BVR the advanced session. Sounds like you already know how to dodge his missles and then when you become low and slow he is killing you because your so far out of position. Roger that brotha we have all been there. Not sure what method your using but try this. When your about to engage him turn your nose 90 degrees to the right or left of his approach. This is called beaming the target. #1 this makes it harder for him to lock you and #2 it puts you in a position to drag his missles out to make them use up there energy ... add a split S to the end of the manuever just before the phoenix arrives and you should be able to dodge the missle change direction and pick up speed in the dive. This also makes it easy to know what direction your opponent is coming from. If he was on the left when you dodged the missles now he is on the right. Gain altitude and set up to do this again traveling the other way. Pay close attention to how close he is because once he is within range of your missles you want to lock him quickly and fire your R27 ER's. I would suggest keeping him 45 degrees to the right or left of your nose firing missles in 15 sec intervals matching his altitude until he dies. If you have to break your lock and he is close switch to vertical scan and try for an ET shot once you dodge his missles. I cant remember how close he has to be for an ET shot something like 25km or something. Lets just say rule of thumb if you can see his ugly mug he is probably in range. At this point in the fight stay low dump chaff and flares and try to get your nose on him for the ET shot. I say ET's because they are fire and forget with more range than a 73. This should give you more of a fighting chance but there are no tricks in the wide open sky. Only when the terrain permits can you try to out wit your opponent until you can bring him into your fight ... which is obviously closer in range. Try ducking behind some mountains or drag him into some Air defense .... SAMS, Shilkas .. stuff like that. This will distract him long enough for you to get your nose around on him and kill him. If all else fails ... RUN .... theres nothing wrong with living to fight another day.:D I hope this helps Im sure others here in the forums will tell you more than what I know so dont get discouraged keep at it bud. Tex
  19. thank you for pointing that out ..... and with all due respect I still dont know what you are saying.
