G3 replied to Mnemonic's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
hey Mnemonic, its been awhile since we spoke last, life gets crazy sometimes and we can all appreciate that. i am just about to setup my flight sim again, currently going thru configuring things such as this lovp, TB etc, one thing at a time. look forward to your next release, US gauges is what i need :D good luck sorting out your hectic life:thumbup: -
thanks for sharing, awesome how you can admire the planes inside and out. what was the first screen, was something starting up or blowing up ?:)

thankyou golfsierra2, we are having a great trip. superkunfu, how true how true, a perfect way to describe the road rules. 5 cars in 3 lanes is fairly accurate, its a totally different way of thinking here, a battle of wills so to speak , between cars buses motorbikes, pushbikes and people. walked passed a large puddle of blood near a shop front that led back to the road, it was a substantial quantity so i guess someone had a bad day and lost the battle of wills. talked to my wife and daughter on skype last night, that was nice, as for eight years we have never been apart for more than a few days. this is our first time out of australia so you could imagine that its quite a shock for us. last night we had a bottle night, consuming copious amounts of jack daniels and the we ran out of smokes, so i volunteered to go buy some. so far i can say hello, how are you, thankyou, and no want :) was smart enough to take an empty packet of smokes with me and that made it a sure thing, although i did ask and thet seemed to understand, also finding my way back was a bonus, everyone is so dam friendly, its nearly embarrassing to think how foreigners can get treated back home, it as curtainly opened my eyes. a large storm hit last night and a large window was blown out of the restaurant and smashed only metres from where we sat, quite scarey at the time, i am glad we did not wear it. we have been playing a game like hacky sack using a ball with feathers, its great fun and everyone happily joins in, including what we would consider senior citizens, yet the old people here are still very active and make us look pathetic :) all the best, off for another days adventure, i think today we are going to the museum in the forbidden city, i am looking forward to this as i have heard great things about the treasures there, so far we have only seen it from the outside at tian anmen square. by for now....

just thought i would drop in and say hello as i vacate in china visiting my friend, so close to russia but unfortunately out of reach this time. visited tian anmen square, forbidden city etc. just saw the new screens and showed my friends torwaks trackir demo on youtube, thankyou it was a great example. also visited the touchbuddy site, if you aren't using that by now i have to say you are missing out, do i need to say more. people are so dam friendly, but the driving is chaotic. taxi's have no seatbelts, at home we don't move the car till seatbelts are on. thats it for now, quite smashed currently, all the best ggg87

hey ice, you still selling those $25 cloth badges and thowing in a copy of FC ? :D had a few friends interested lately and they wanted me to go back to 1.02, i said they better go up to 1.12 :D and for that kind of money how can they say no :) thanks, ggg

instead of a title 'Just my $0.02 on ECM Blinking' it should have been called "there goes an hour i'll never get back" :) that said it was an interesting read, obviously a topic people feel strongly about. some valid points in there, and not to raise hopes but: the mention of a possible 1.13 patch for FC great to hear from the devs and to know they are listening, and hopefully ignoring some of it :) sorry if this was old but the recent thread on the matter made me do a search of my own, and i think i am better for it, and slightly wiser.

some great shots there, thanks for sharing. -
absolutely amazing screens, thankyou, it just gets better. those models look brilliant, lost for words...
-
hmmm, i think the model is ax100e panasonic, 1280x720. where as the th2go res is 3840x1024, so you can understand the performance difference.

Most awsome hardware you ever had for its time!
G3 replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
hey not bad, you had a hdd...:), the first ibm compatible i remember was my mates C.A.T. clone. it had no hdd from memory, you had to load things up from disk everytime. and i used to say how crap it was and how much better the old commodore was :D Ven:, papyrus- not hardware but a worthy mention all the same, never paticipated in hawaii, but remember hearing about it, papyrus games were the best for sim racing in my opinion, loved em from the first lap of laguna seca using indycar 1, till the end of an era with nr2003 and all the associated mods and addons, a great pity it all came to a sad end, many fun hours were had racing mates at lans etc, lugging all your hardware to a single location just to join up with coax 10base, remember those terminator resistors :) rfactor seems to have taken over nicely though for myself and my fellow race sim fans, so many mods and great community and developer support from isi. and the ecci wheels, that was pure unobtainium. gunja: good to hear, another voodoo fan :D, it was an amazing difference. hehehe. -

for me several things come to mind, some new some old. getting a 1541 disk drive for my c64 was heaven compared to the tape drive :) getting a mouse :D, i learnt to navigate windows 3.1 without one :D first entering the world of ever improving pc graphics: 4mb pci voodoo1 monster 3d accelerator :) piggy backed off a virge s3 2d. then onto the original sli 2x voodoo2 12mb, and finally a 3dfx 5500 dual gpu :) arhh the good ol days, now its laughable. imput device: built my own gameport wheel and pedals from wood in the early 90's with pots, must find and upload a pic, classic stuff. and recently built a 6 speed usb shifter, which doubles as a landing gear lever :) my current pc setup would have to be my favourite: ch/sfs hotas controls,wheel/pedals/usb shifter, trackir, triplehead2go, projector, (touchbuddy, virtual panel and lockon fc) along with a dual core a64 x2 and being able to set affinity, all the above put together would be my ultimate hardware for its time, and that time is now :), and doesn't hardware get old quick :) haha. remember adaptec scsi adapter 2940uw :) and accesories like zip drives, hdd and cdroms. first m/b with an agp slot, that was a huge step up. finding decent psu's like antec etc, over those nasty generic case psu's :) countless pc's have been let down or killed by a cheap psu. removing my 14.4 modem and getting a 33.6 then 56kflex, then forgetting all that and plugging in my cable modem, that was a memorable moment. then discovering routers and sharing the net without configuring it thru ICS. i will stop now, they're just a few of the great moments in hardware i can think of, no doubt everyone has a story or 3 to tell. look forward to hearing others:thumbup:, good one pilotasso. -
looks wonderful, easy to see cockpit instruments. are you running the game at full available res etc? what did u have before?
-
good to hear of your new lease on look gunja, i had a similar experience going from the th2go to a projector. graphics settings were reduced to get the desired performance with the th2go, where as the projector was the same as a single 16:9 screen allowing for better performance with higher settings. so i upped all the graphics settings and hey presto i had much better long distance visuals, and by the sounds of it our reactions were the same. isn't it great when you get an indirect bonus from doing something else

looking forwards to the eagle skin in the aussie camos, wicked  Q: will these skins fit the walmis f15 or the original eagle model only? great work by the way, amazing detail.

after years of flying lockon, i have only just today made my first track file. it was a short and sweet affair just to see if it worked ok, using the quick mission for the a10, i swooped down and took out a tank, then was abruptly attacked by a ground vehicle with a small turret, tracers flew over the fuselage and rounds took out my right engine, slam into the ground and game over. that was enough for me to experiment with. well to my delight i worked out how to replay the track, and viewed the action from the tank i blew up, watching the a10 come in over the mountains and launch a missile right towards me, then boom. then i saw you can loop the track for continuous playback, so far so good. i am intersted in being able to just replay the action part of the track, ffw/rewind and change view etc as it plays, but i couldn't work it out. i will take a guess and say that since pause works like normal, then i guess game speed could be done the same way for slow motion, but how to rewind is what i need to know. my question is: can you control the track file like a replay and rewind/ffw/slow mo etc, or is it purely for replaying the entire track from start to finish, thanks. i am beginning to understand the attraction for moving making. please no "read the manual" answers, that is getting old:thumbup: just helpful advice if you have some would be great, thanks. .

hitman, if its fake then that is disappointing. kuky, :) a little contradictory, but i think i know what he's saying. superkungu, you seem to know about the images origin, can you expand on it authenticity or lack there of. refocusing on my original intention, which was simply sharing these pics with you guys. a few nice pics of the helo's, frogs, su fighters and lots of planes i for one had never seen or heard of previously, like those twin prop per engine planes, i am assuming that they are counter rotating like the ka-50 heli rotors. -

hitman, you are correct, post limit not thread limit, i could have posted in the same thread after all. so egg on my face, oh well 16hour shift is my excuse :) superkungfu, in china you say, fair enough, either way its bloody low :) -

Who wants a PIT BUILDERS forum here?
G3 replied to m0unta1n6uy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
i love the idea of a pit builders section, we have some great stuff to go in there straight away, eg: show your pit pics multi screen setups touchscreen setups virtual panel + touchbuddy setups and eg: custom lua configs ? trackir positioning for projectors lua export data discussions. make it and they will come :D thanks ED for doing this, great idea. -

superkungfu, i have no idea about their accuracy or origin, just thought they were worth sharing. hitman, sorry for the inconvenience, it seems there is a twenty pic limit per post, so i had to split it up after i had already manually saved them from pps, converted to jpeg, uploaded to photobucket one by one, 20 in total at a time, another limit, then copied a link from photobucket and copied it into my post 77 times and manually edited those links in numerical order, only to find it said no no no, 20 pics only per thread, so then i copied all my links to a text folder so i could then copy and paste the relevant links to the images to each of the four threads i made for us to check out. so i must apologize for your 10 mouse clicks  haha (thats 4 to open, 4 go backs and 2 more to tell me the above, not to mention all the scrolling), just having fun with ya :D judging by the shadow and pilot size i am guessing this shot from part 3 is flying less than 2metres from the surface, pretty keen :)
