never hear mention of the F-111, not that i want it but i thought it was strange it had very little interest, surely us aussies arent the only ones still flying that old girl. i will never tell which plane i voted for, ok ok, it was the eagle :thumbup:

go with whatever one can be modelled to its full potential, so for me it would be the full a10a rather than half the a10c. as far as other flyables go, i think most folks would be very happy if we get back the planes we already had with nothing more than AFM, clickable pits + 6dof. i think the a10a will be great, will be the start of getting the planes into dcs. how could one resist hunting those sharks in an AFM a10 :)

well done ED, congrats on the new everything, site, name, sim etc. this way, by the sounds of it, we will end up with a game truly worthy of being called a sim. looking forward to the release but thats a given, and heres a toast to all our testers and others behind the scenes, keep up the good work so i can eventually have my eagle back :thumbup: ggg

not the cessna, thats the only one i don't want to see :) logic would suggest that an opposing enemy heli would be a good idea next. after that if the A-10 comes along, then yes i agree with a previous suggestion of matching that against the su25t for obvious reasons. this is wishful thinking and nothing more, but to me it seems like the logical path. down the line i would dearly love to see the fast movers back in the air superiority roll, so let me be first to guess that might happen in say 3-4 years if we are lucky. just give me back my eagle :thumbup: eventually, please.

great idea this list, should be good reference material for 1.13 patch if and when. 1. fix 120 missile and f-15 radar performance. 2. fix aspect ratio defaulting after a graphics change in game. 3. simple dedicated server interface, non-graphical. thats all :thumbup: honestly i would be happy to see any or all of the issues addressed, and in that order. fingers crossed for the 1.13 patch for FC

i too am an ocean away and therefor will have to miss out, be worth the airfare just to check it out, but then santa wouldn't have enough money for xmas and try explaining that to the little ones :) so running the risk of being pelted with rotten tomatoes: if i may be so bold as to inquire, when ED have the display booth @ e 4 all, will this be a current beta demo or a full release? i am obviously asking is this "e 4 all" to be the actual release/launch of BS or just showing off what is done so far? should we be mildly excited or ecstatic?

welcome, may i suggest searching for threads containing the following: lovp = lockon virtual panel. instrument gauges displayed on other pc/monitor. touchbuddy = touchscreen interface for cockpit buttons etc on another pc/monitor replaces clumsy keyboard commands, with simple touch buttons, with many ready made profiles, seriously worth checking out. note: no touchscreen required, you can still click the buttons with the mouse to start with. and i will assume you know about trackir, if not also check them out. thats a good start i think.

i figured out a "roller" is a lockon movie :) but yes i must agree the interpretation leaves a little to be desired, interesting trying to read thru the lines so to speak.

love the idea, it would be great to have all in a pack, provided its ok with mod makers. some really good stuff in there... true there is always something else coming out, new models or mods. maybe a release and then a later update/new release with an edit to the meinit etc

from what i have seen , v-sync definately helps with tearing, as for performance it seems to lock the fps to a multiple of 15 or 30, there abouts. so provided you have a reasonably high end system it should be worth having on. not sure about the triple buffering, someone will give us the good oil i am sure. something about lockon and triple buffering also comes to mind but i can't think what it was?

lockon can ideed run on two monitors no worries at all. its all about setting the res, aspect ratios and zoom levels, 3 screens requires software or hardware as described above, this has been discussed extensively in previous posts that you may search. lockon on multimonitors is awesome, but its hungry on the hardware, don't expect the same game performance as with a single screen. as for BS, i am unsure if it will have support other than what we have now. the best way is to give the softTH a try, if i didnt already have a th2go i would be using it for sure.

Raised_Dead85, great pc, the e6850 is a real sweetspot in cpu price/performance at the moment. love to hear more, running full detail settings etc. Troffmeister, is that the p5n32e+ with the 2x 16 pci-e? it appears you have built this rig around a single card, for now at least.

Highwayman-Ed, great to hear you found a performance increase for your efforts, as it is not something to jump into blindly. as 3Sqn_Fudd suggests a backup of your lockon game folder is good thinking. also great for retrieving controller configs etc, checking old aspect ratio settings etc, trackir edits in the configs or whatever you like changing. something worth serious consideration is making an image of your entire system when it is freshly setup to your liking. with out novelling on too much, heres an example simplified somewhat: backup loved data elsewhere. partition hdd as desired install fresh OS and configure as desired install imaging software (ghost/acronis/etc) continue customising with must have apps, firewall, AV ### now make an image and call it "fresh" or similar. ### install games, lockon, and rfactor :) including all mods configure controllers, tir, video settings etc. (basically get the computer set up as you do now, but fresh as a daisy) ### now make another image and call it "gaming" or similar. ### done....... so lately you pc has issues or is running poorly for whatever reason: so what's causing it, that new game demo, a beta driver, virus, spyware etc to restore: this is the good part, once you have created an image or two, you need spend only a few minutes getting your pc back, fully setup ready to use just as you like it. simply run you imaging software, select the image you made earlier and choose restore, next thing you know it reboots a few times and its all brand new:D extras: aftera few simple steps like update virus definitions and your done, finished. the other guy is still looking for his windows cd, hours away from flying or racing etc. if you haven't already, i hope this inspires some of you to give backup imaging a try, Highwayman-Ed its the perfect time for you :) i personally use an old version of nortons ghost 2003, it still gets the job done nicely. create yourself a readme and document the procedure so if and when the time comes, you can restore the image that suits your needs eg: "fresh" or "gaming". not necessary but you can also rename the c:\ to the same name as the image file you're about to create, this allows you to see what image you have restored. the entire procedure is no harder than setting up your computer like you did last format, if you also include installing and using the imaging software it will be the last time you have do it from scratch. this is when you will see the fruits of you labour, well worth the effort. this ends part 1 of my mini series on how to make your computing life easier :) ps: i must confess to not having flown much lately, but its only temporary. i must also admit i have missed out on some of these great sounding mods. unfortunately not as much online access as i used to have so hence the reason for my lack of input, sure this makes up for it :D happy to discuss imaging further in a seperate thread if need be, but for now back to original topic: always glad to hear of any performance gain in lockon, its still a hungry beast and a clean install of the game can't hurt, enjoy, ggg
