the ladies are the sweet potato :megalol: hehe, now lets get back to Yo-Yo for a moment, i recon he'd be the kind of guy you could sit and have a bottle night with, and no doubt he'd be a bit of a character as well, can anyone confirm or deny? note: a "bottle night" is a drinking session with some good company and each with a bottle of your favorite liquor, preferably spirits and by the end of the night the bottle should be empty.

from my past experience i will go out on a limb and say that i am sure most people here fell the way i do. firstly i have no issue with someone replying in any fashion they see fit, although heated personal bitching is really going nowhere... and should definately be taken to PM and out of the public arena. its a crying shame to see such a great thread deteriorate into a little squabbling match, amusing yes but counter productive in the end.:book: this is a great community and as it has been said before, filled with polite and helpful people, in general but obviously not as a rule, although it should be. its saddens me when i see this crud undermine the integrity of such a welcoming and productive place, that in the end we all share, for the benefit of all. quite offen we are lucky enough to have some input from ED's devs but i can't imagine them being interested when its just in-fighting between members, so........................ lets get back on topic or this thread may as well be locked and forgotten... ps: i must say i was suprised that anyone buying flamming cliffs in the evolved gold edition, especially someone in a sqdn would have not heard 1, about this issue and 2, how to resolve it, but hey i guess they are out there...

just streamed it then. looks like an amazing experience, i am very envious, thanks for sharing.

judging by your current system specs, yet not being specific to lockon and focusing on the original question, i have absolutley no doubt that another gig of ram will increase your systems performance, end of story. go for it and enjoy the added performance.

i say tomardo, you say tomaydo.:music_whistling::thumbup: this thread is ready, its done, it has expired..... lets post something worth reading, i say as i type this dribble, hehe :pilotfly: check out the thread dedicated to the ka-50, its a good read......

as we speak i am working on a tally program for threads like this, its in beta now so.... who wants to guess when the tally program will be done? :music_whistling: ps: yes it does get annoying when someone crushes a legitamite question, but i also agree the old "when will it be ready" question gets old too. lets see, hows it go... soon, two weeks, when its done etc etc there we go, that should be enough for everyone. i guess what should be said is please answers from mods only, or only reply if you have something worth adding... but then there's always someone who, seems to be able to type yet not understand english ;)

English Forum Friday-Night Cage-Match
G3 replied to SwingKid's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
i recall as a kid being quite fearful of those "plunger arms of death", hahaha how silly it seems now. EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE........................ its all been said before... but i for one, along with several other members that have voiced there opinion on how much more value we get from informative updates on what the team are currently working on rather than another pic or three. the only screenshots i am interested in are the ones we will be taking ourselves, don't get me wrong i enjoy the pics and looking at the quality of the missiles, vehicles etc but i much prefer reading about flight models, weapons, ai and the like. i guess we should be greatful for anything that trickles down the line. ps: and its a no brainer for the cage match, those darlecs(?) are a sure thing, and if the tardus has an AFM then that angry mob has no hope.:P -
unsure of the exit speed or muzzle velocity for want of a better term, but surely it would be a fairly intense and instant acceleration rate and i just can't see that pig returning to earth and being alive, i could be wrong but i recon the pig in the after shots is an imposter, and the original pig went on the dinner plate that night. i say its a hamspiracy...

OT: I want a 6800 GT/Ultra or X850XT AGP
G3 replied to Pilgrim's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
sorry for OT, but i found it interesting that my ultra runs cooler than any of the gt's, by quite a few degrees, i guess that larger cooler does a good job. pilgrim, good luck on your hunt, pm me if i can help, i know its on the other side of the planet but the offer is there... -
1680x1050 widescreen and Lock-On?
G3 replied to LawnDart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
mr wolf, unsure if your joking but incase you are not, to figure your aspect ratio its horizontal resolution divided by the vertical. eg 1024x768 = aspect of 1024/768 = 1.333 pretty sure thats how it goes. and yes if you go and edit the graphics afterwards you will need to do it again. if you were joking then please disreguard.:music_whistling: -
keep em coming, these are killing me...
-
its the old gap in the middle issue..... stacking them vertically would be interesting, i wonder if it could be done with such a big res? look forward to more pics...

OT: I want a 6800 GT/Ultra or X850XT AGP
G3 replied to Pilgrim's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
gday from australia, unsure if its worth the hassle to arrange getting it to you but i have an unused 9800 pro, brand new RMA from canada, and also have an albatron 6800gt with an nv5 cooler. the 6800gt is still a good thing and the old 9800pro's runs lomac suprisingly well, both cards are agp, if you are interested in either card please send me a private message for further details, cheers. -
snomhf, after seeing your latest work on the ch gear i think you would be very capable of modifying anything. i think its a great idea, now what about a left handed f-15. :) ps: i am always on the lookout for a talon and an sfs throttle on ebay, they do pop up occasionally. is the talon a solid unit or are they rubbish? sounds like you would be interested in putting the talon handle on the ch base, is that right. and those sfs throttles have a heap of buttons etc, would be awesome if you could reverse one of those.
-
snomhf, thanks again for the detailed insight into your project. from what i can tell they are looking superb. interesting to hear some feedback from a ch rep, and sad to hear they are not keen on a left handed alternative to go into production. will be most intersted to catch a glimpse of your finished " LOTAS ". :megalol: (lefthanders own throttle and stick) feel free to call it that if you like, i would be honoured.:smartass:, hehe. seriously though, you have made a fantastic contribution to the left handed sim community and proven that it can be done, and done well, thankyou. ps: i noticed in your sig, you have an abit Av8 m/b, AV8 = aviate :)

:megalol: i too thought it was a real example of a crosswind landing, then saw the humour in it, and then i read the above comment. this brought a smile to my face, life is to short to be to serious. its good to have a laugh instead of a sook occasionally. so, still in the dark, any news on black shark???:joystick:

it too suprises me that more people aren't interested in such enhancements. instruments viewed on another pc is one of the better ones, and i too was always jealous of f4 especially with the mfd's. better go back for another look and try that glass cockpit demo. very exciting, there i go now...........................
-
Fufunka, thanks for the input, the information about the glass cockpit instruments is very exiting, i can see some serious potential there. as for the dome thing, i have seen it before but i must say it is impressive. looking forward to the release of lobs, by then i'd say i should have a th2go and will look futher into the glass instruments, thanks again. would be awesome to see a mfd, pacs, tews etc. great info and great links, cheers.

watching your other thread snomhf, love the pics, be sure to give us some close ups (macros). following with interest, thanks for sharing.
-
that is music to my ears, thanks for the reply. look forward to that day. i would love to hear of any future/futher progress on the matter, thankyou as for the th2go there are several hardware sites now with a review, yet to find one as thorough as joe's and considering we are all here for lockon, i thought his review covered it well. others i have read are fairly dull in comparison, with only general information.
-
Shepski, as a mod and tester, maybe you are able to persue this further? i have started 2 other threads on this subject in the tech section but they did not recieve the enthusiasm i had hoped for this would be a major enhancement for added realism. this idea needs some serious exploring. something like fs9 where you can open gauges in windows and move them around onto other screens. imagine 3 monitors for the cockpit view, and then 1 or more monitors below to permanently display the instruments, vsd, mfd, pacs, tews. nice life sized radar etc, say 2 gauges per screen at a guess, user configurable. awesome for a desktop simulator without the need to build a full cockpit. could use an old dual head videocard or the second output from a modern videocard. with some luck and possibly a little community input, hopefully ED may see this and help in providing a solution. we can only hope or at least ask nicely.... \dear ED development team, please consider, thankyou ggg87.

sounds good joe, it would be nice to get this zoom issue sorted. lets hope its relatively simple to resolve. i mentioned trying different planes as i had read somewhere that the new su-25 had some zoom issues, can't remember what exactly, someone else might recall the details. i thought that may have been a factor in the equation. look forward to more.
-
yes i saw the full size shots, pretty exiting, imaging the black shark on all 3. no big deal about the nascar, i have it set up in a lan with 3 pc's, one each screen, its such a chore to setup every race, this box will be a god sent. unfortunate your screens were not all the same as the effect is much more impressive when they are matched, not to worry. unable to help with the zoom out issue, is this on all planes that you tried? and any inside info on a release, i read april, and thats nearly over :)
-
great work joe, you have done a fine job of giving this product a good going over. agree with groove, tis nice to get a mention. upon release one of these units is as good as on my desk, that is now confirmed. those lockon pics are somewhat pretty you'd have to agree. as mentioned in the review, be ready to drop settings and resolutions to make it run nice, that said you can keep the little box for years to come. with ongoing video performance improvements every six months this will only get better, its a bright future for th2go. those gpl shots look good, everyone seems to mention the increased sensation of speed in the car sims, i hope this stays true to lockon also, i believe it will. its certainly the case with nascar2003season, opponents also become visible at your rear guard, not your bonnet, and things just seem to zoom by, oh yeah :) some nascar2003 pics would have been nice but i saw it as being supported in the sg software so no worries there, good stuff. :) xmas comes early this year.........

i am truely leaning towards the "go for it", option, i have no doubt i will eventually have a fully left handed hotas that i can be proud of. i would like to see your assignment layout, that would be wonderful. so many projects going on at present i cannot justify any custom stick building in the near future but you have definately inspired me and restored my faith in my fellow left handers, giving in is all too easy and not really my style, nor is it yours i see. a good question now would be: what joystick/hotas setup would be the best to base my project on. as i mentioned earlier, i am disappointed with the reliability of the attack 3, so a quality hotas would be desirable. ideas: ch hotas cougar hotas i kind of like the cougars throttle as it moves in a radius, rather than a sliding motion, although i have heard some people complain of a sticky movement with the cougar, while others swear by it. please comment on the feel and motion range of the ch if you would. once i made myself a six speed usb shifter for racing sims, so i am no stranger to tinkering and modifying etc, bring it on i say. thankyou again for the inspiration snomhf.
