Game mode allows for mistakes and decreases the amount of time u will spend reloading the sim. after Being shot down, or crashing due to lack of knowledge. Game Mode setting with unlimited fuel and lives so u can learn how to dodge the Sam and IR Missiles. Watching the track files after ur flight. Is how U learn. not Sim. Mode loading and reloading because u keep being shot down before u learn to jink properly. People who say "I only use Sim Mode" as if it is some badge of honor, are absolutely ridiculous. 1920X1080 is the resolution of the desktop too? If not set them both to the 1920X1080 and see if it locks up again. This was an issue a few updates back that reared its ugly during another update, hope it isn't back. or not as it is easy to fix. That R9 has caused a lot of issues for DCS. do a search u will see. After searching this PC for that file, it was found in Eagle Dynamics Lock On under Ubisoft. But not in DCS Eagle Dynamics folder. It is found several times under Microsoft's entries as part of DX9, DX11 and the C++ entries along with the Video Driver files. So updating or installing those again should do the trick. Battle Field has nothing on DCS. No shooter does. Think about all of the Systems that go online when u start the Jets in DCS. IGI. ILS. MFDs. DSMS. TGP. Maverick targeting system. among others and the myriad number of sub. system involved in them u will soon realize the Shooter Genre only taxation is to the Graphics card as it draws images. The weapon in the hand of the user is the only "System" involved. That R9 would and has done better clocked down not up. do a search many have relegated their DCS gaming to down clocking and waiting for EDGE to receive the benefits of that card. I don't think anyone would agree that a DX9 Software Title is an "Experts" attempt at Graphics Processing, as you say. But an attempt at giving users the "Flight Simulator" we all clamored for. Unfortunately at the time of development DX9 was the Bees Knees (good thing). As the development of this "Great Title" progressed so to did the skills and utilities used for software development. Unable to do 2 things at once (Financial Constraints) starting over in the middle of development wasn't an option. i.e. adding multi-core processing/updating to DX functionality. As their hands were full developing a title that inherently comes with bugs needing to be worked out. (Keep in mind the size of the development team). It has already been discussed over and over the unrealistic comparisons of this title and "Games" done many yrs. ago resulting in an agreement that this software doesn't compare to games as the level of simultaneous systems out way the "Shooter" genre in complexity. It is unfortunate that you missed out on those long chats, as they would have added a more thorough knowledge base to your discourse. With this in mind would you suggest that all development cease as to wait for better graphics processing abilities of DX9? or would it better move along our genre to continue development (Even adding "Polygons"). an addition to the title that allows the continued "Forward Thinking" that will soon be a thing of the past, as the new engine comes online. in order to epees a handful of "Blue Angel" want a bees. How much Video Ram is on that 560Ti? Background programs like iTunes updating in the background could cause this, (Happened to me once) They give U no warning just start downloading Windows updates are notorious for this too. Other than that I would look into the Cache/Swap File settings, what are they (Windows Controlled)? I would restart My PC before starting DCS a few updates back I found better FRAPs by doing this, a possible solution in ur case here. The Drivers for that Nvidia are up to date I assume?

I don't get it? Why would anyone install a program that adds a profile then delete it. If it wasn't there in the first place after the deletion isn't he back to square one (as it were). Which indicates adding and then deleting isn't prudent? Or am I missing something?

That is odd. The number of crashes due to different files would indicate a potential failed HDD. Or Ram. To many files involved to be app. specific assuming the loader is programmed correctly, sense no one else is having this issue that rules out the software itself. A repair is in order. If this doesn't work a total re-install is called for. If it persists then a look into ur hardware will be needed. Hdd first then Ram. and lastly a controller on the motherboard. Do not assume because other programs on the PC are running well that this isn't the issue as the other programs occupy different areas of the drive.
