I've been using the i7 920 for about 6yrs. now, I have yet to see poor frame rates in any release of DCS. That said, there is no reason to upgrade for this software at all. The speed of the newer CPU will have "No" effect on this DX9 platform. The increases from an upgrade such as u have stated would benefit newer titles. So Save ur money for something else if ur PC runs other software at comfortable Fraps for U. That Purchase would be a waste of money for sure. If increased performance in DCS is ur intentions.

Newer FFB Model is all I can think to do. as of anywho.

Sounds like a heat issue for sure. Have u tracked that as u use the software? Blowing out the PC with compressed air would do if so. I take mine apart once year to avoid this and clean the GPU after taking it apart.

Some have had to turn down the overclock on the GPU to get better results in this sim.

most definitely. DCS has had issues with USB devices in the past. Getting "Something Else Demanding" will tell U little of this software unless it is a demanding DX9 user also.

Sure U can test it. Create the Log in for them. Log in with that info. then purchase the module with that account.

That error was related to the C++ files in other posts, it was also part of a driver that didn't do well with the software (GPU Driver). http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2019667 for C++ and then role back or update ur GPU Drivers, which ever is applicable in ur case. There could have been a glitch in the matrix on ur last attempted C++ instillation u might want a do over.

Do U have mouse pointer trails on? and u do shut off the Windows Aero scheme when loading DCS? its an option on the GUI.

After a search on this PC. I found the file in 3 locations, one is the download bin in DCS world another in World OpenBeta and the last in world bin. With that said, and the files all report the same size, U could delete/drag and drop the other one in to replace ur bad copy. Worth a shot to avoid Re-Instillation?

Another Demanding game will tell us nothing as this game is DX9 Demanding Games of late are far from DX9. GPU executions and CPU coding are way different instructions used back then are slower and hardly optimized for todays technology. and as per this dated software u will run into trouble without the swap file, as it only knows one method of carrying out the coded instructions. That depend on a "SwapFile" it has no instructions for "If exists Go to" in a system with out it.

What do u not understand? The Q. was answered on the first page. One with a purchase for an individual with out a log in the other answer is for a user who creates his own.

Backing up is a must for any application. have 2 externals just for backing up everything. 279 Music CDs, 523 Movies all backed up twice on the externals. Along with DCS Missions I like. the full download game install (latest of course). A must have tool of our trade.

Along those lines, pasting the mod commands into the new folder doesn't work? (Notepad++) And there is a user created mod app. in beta as we speak.

That behavior sounds like 65H. no way should an IR Lock do that.

All the info. on His PC specs are in the DXDiag.txt. Nice machine Subferro. It looks like U have mucked with the swap file/Page File ie. Page File: 2224MB used, 14090MB available from ur DX txt file. U need more than that Hence the stutters as the CPU adjusts to the small amount of Page File available to it. Go big on the Mem. setting for the page file to stop the thrashing (Stuttering). Double the size of ur Ram is what most set their swap files to. Some go double plus half.

you are using Microsoft Server 2008 for an OS.? u could use more Ram for this Sim. it is very dynamic. with all of the systems that go online when u start her up.

Easiest way is to create the account for them. I used their Facebook account for email. and it was theirs from the start. After sending the account info. to them they were up and running after downloading. I have suggested a "Sticky" with this info. but haven't heard from anyone on it.

your issue is the overclocked cpu. and the settings used to make an overclocked cpu stable. the gpu is overclocked too? the original Q. was how much does defragging help. and the answer is not much after the first run of a defragging program (they all do the same thing) once the files are put in a sequential position on the drive there is not reason to do it again. fragmentation only going to happen with windows elements after that.

That overclocked 760 caused issues for some.

the purchase needs to be associated with the email used to acquire the module. If u used Google to purchase and u use another email to log on this will happen. check ur purchase history when u log into the site. u can find this info. in the support sticky. for more details.

That will not work. the Serial Key will be associated with the purchasers account.

Isn't the option to set as DSL the fastest method? U do have it set right in the options menu of the Multi-Player GUI? I think it is DSL if someone knows the right one please inform us. Edit. just saw another post suggests that LAN is the fastest.

Usually the individual isn't a member. In that case Sign them up by creating a user name and Password for them when U purchase the module. Then I email them the info. or message them on FaceBook have done it several times now. A good way to get quality personnel in our Forums and Multi-Player area. This will be my 4th purchase for friends and family. We should have a Sticky with the Title Purchasing Modules for Friends. It will remind users it can be done and increase sales as members are reminded they can bring Family and Friends into our Genre. Just a thought. I've seen other threads written by other members with that video card. It seems to have issues with DCS. One person adjusted the overclock on it and found better game play at the reduced rate. Do a search on that card to see if someone had better luck at resolving it than the one I remember.
