  1. OK. Full repair of DCS resulted in no change to the compass behavior. Attaching a track and map screenshot of runway lineup clearly showing my 060 heading. ED needs to look into this or someone advise me what I am doing wrong. P-51 Compass.trk
  2. Oh yes, I can quite easily adjust the DG to match the compass indication. But then both instruments will read 090, or 30 degrees from my true heading of 060. I have found no procedure to correct the compass indication to 060. Am I missing something? Surely I am not the only P-51 pilot to experience this issue. How can I ever find my way home from a mission? Perhaps I need to perform a DCS repair.
  3. Ok, but.... see this screenshot shortly after takeoff from Brazenville runway 6. Compass reads 090 and DG reads 060. 30 degrees difference??
  4. Realize this is a necro topic, but I just started flying the Mustang on Normandy 2.0, 2.4.8.39731 OB and noticed this issue of compass and directional gyro readings differing by 15 -20 degrees. Is this a long-standing bug or am I doing it wrong? Do I need to calibrate gyro before takeoff?
  5. Panasonic/Shiftall MeganeX headset delayed. Big surprise! Now scheduled for July (2023, I believe) release. Consumer version weighs in at 1699 USD. As I recall the January 2022 CES announcement was for a May 2022 release at about 800 USD. Twice as long and twice the price. At least the postponement periods are getting shorter. 6. Are Normandy 2.0 individual airfield maps available anywhere?
  7. OK, Tx. Beginning to get the hang of it. One wonders why the engineers designed it like this.
  8. I have Crosswind pedals with toe brakes. The toe brakes behave normally during calibration and when used with other DCS aircraft, like the Mustang. I decided to venture into the Thunderbolt. Assigned P-47D wheel brake right and left axes to toe brakes, tuned axes to slider and invert, but behavior seems wierd. When I tap a toe brake it appears to remain engaged after releasing the brake pedal, so that the airplane continues to turn/spin until I engage the opposite brake to return to straight line taxiing. Is this normal? If not, how do I achieve normal braking behavior?
  9. Some time ago I created a profile "DCS Update" that disabled all the DCS Install folder mods. Sure can't remember how I did it, tho.
  10. Ahhhh. Ok, installed fine when I "Run as Administrator". Tx for quick help. Set that up permanently in program properties.
  11. Successfully completed purchase of P-47 module 2 hours ago. Shows up for download in DCS Module Manager, but download attempt kicks me to desktop with this log entry: Any suggestions? Overburdened server?
  12. Title says it all. Yesterday it was a sub-topic of DCS World 2.8. Not there now.
  13. Wow! I am a native English speaker and engineer with vast experience writing technical reports for unsophisticated lay persons. Moreover, I have been a PC software user and flight sim enthusiast for about 30 years, so consider myself technically proficient. Now, I have been using OMM since near its inception, as I prefer it over OvGME; and I must admit I AM STILL CONFUSED over the package creation terminology and file storage procedure. I say this not to be highly critical, as I appreciate the efforts of mod developers and I know I could not cope well in another language. I will try to digest all the foregoing discussion and offer suggestions for improvement.
  14. Many thanks for continuing to support the WPE.
  15. Since TheWay utility was updated to V2 on Apr 16, DCS WPE TheWay coordinate capture method no longer works. Problem is within the new TheWay.lua script, that has many changes, that goes in Saved Games folder. DCS WPE still functions as intended with the older TheWay.lua script.
  16. Interesting that the VR method using DCS Scratchpad does not require cycling the F10 map coordinate mode to precise Lat/long.
  17. I struggled with this issue also. Lasko helped me resolve. My issue was my custom Windows and DCS scaling settings, for my QHD monitor, that WP Editor could not handle. I fixed by changing the Windows scaling for DCS (see attached image) and changing the Scale GUI setting in DCS\Controls to 1. Hope this helps.
  18. @ Baseline_ Quite interested in your experience with the 3080 12G, as that is the vid card I have currently; and I am planning to get back into VR this year with one of the new Gen headsets. Planning on a MB/CPU upgrade, but wondering if I will need to upgrade my video. I now have 32G RAM and suspect that those new headsets will greatly benefit from 64G.
  19. Latest releases at: Latest Version VRK. Have not tested with dcs-mt.
  20. So far as I know there is no built-in HOTAS function to change waypoints. Two options are to bind the control function to a HOTAS button or keypress or mouse-click on the HSI OSB.
  21. What is it?? Fire Can maybe?
  22. Probably because to produce an improved VR experience over existing headsets requires more costly technologies like pancake lenses.
  23. My search results were fruitless, so I will ask here for a detailed explanation of how to enter JDAM/JSOW pre-planned target coordinates in the Hornet. Official guide is a little sketchy.
  24. DCS Waypoint Editor is a very handy tool for inputting weapon PP coordinates, as well as navigation waypoints. DCS WPE Github
