Damn!! That looks awesome. I'm really curious to see the performance numbers when this thing gets imported into DCS.
-
Aaaah I see. Anyway, that bastard!!! :D I want magic to happen to me as well!!!

Wolf Rider, not to sound disrespectful. But this is real issue that is already filed and reported to ED. Kuky who has been so kind to help us has been able to reproduce the effect also confirms this is a real thing. He also reported that this apparently has been fixed on an internal build. There is also more of us who has the same issue, and are able to revert to 1.2.5 and get rid of the bug. Following logic, this should tell us that this is a DCS issue and has nothing to do with our video card settings. Or where we have it installed.
-
Nice one. I'm currently at work and will not be able to test this. :p

Thank you! :)

Kuky, when you are checking between the 2 versions, are you running them both in 3x27" with corresponding resolution? Or you running on a single screen? If you are running it on 3x27", test it on single screen with higher avg. FPS. You should see the difference a bit easier then. You have a very competent system, but I think me and you have a very different stand/oppinion on what is fluent gameplay. I tried a Sapphire 7970 GHz edition card on my single 27" one time. It had some unexpected dips in FPS, and when I compared it to my GTX 580 that it was supposed to replace, the GTX had higher minimum FPS while the 7970 had higher max fps. So in the end I returned 7970. So seeing you running 3x27" and being ok with it's performance, tells me that you and me might have a different view of what is stutter and what is not. Some of us also might just be more sensitive to noticing changes like this. Anyway, appreciate you are taking the time to look into this issue! Thank you :)

And I'm back to smooth as silk in 1.2.5 again...
-
I'm reverting back to 1.2.5 right now from latest version.

Ok, tried in windowed mode and fullscreen mode. No difference. And here is the reason I think someone notices it, and someone don't. Personal preferences and your ability to see faster FPS. Example: Me personally can't play with 30FPS. I find it very hard on my eyes. After a while it's uncomfortable. My preference in 60 FPS with Vsync, it's silky smooth and a joy to fly. Others don't see difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS, as long as it's vsynced. Anyway, If I keep my head completely still, everything is smooth as silk. As soon as I try to look around I get the same feeling as when your FPS has dropped a little bit. Not by a huge amount, but just enough to be out of sync and giving the impression of stutter. This very noticeable as you are flying past something and banking over to keep visual contact while you are doing the turn. I also tried setting max FPS to 30, to put it this way, I wanted to claw my eyes out ;) Also tried taking off the Vsync, got so much tearing that it was impossible to make comparison. Specs: i7 3820@4,6 GHz 16 Gb Ram Titan SLI

performance with dynamic weather overcast and rain

I'm running i7 3820 @ 4,6Ghz with GTX Titans in SLI. -
I'm gonna revert as well. I can't enjoy the sim in this condition.

performance with dynamic weather overcast and rain
TZeer replied to 159th_Falcon's topic in Game Performance
I have noticed the same thing. Dynamic weather (clouds, rain, fog++) really makes stuff go into a slideshow. Funny thing is when you get past the clouds and break through on the top, the FPS goes up again. -
Phu! Happy to see this thread, sort of. Been out of the sim for a while and did the update dance etc. First thing I noticed was stuttering when using track IR to look around. If I keep my view steady looking to the side, smooth as silk. As soon as I start moving my head to look around, very noticeable stutter/jitter. Flying around, external view etc, everything smooth. Move head, feels my eyes are going to start bleeding any moment. Not touching this with a ten foot pole until it's fixed.

I'm really interested in performance numbers on the new EDGE engine. Expecting it to be more efficient and better at using todays power in the GPU. Will be interesting to see how they have dealt with the problem with object count in the engine. Problem today is that every bullet, or fragment in a CBU is an object. And when that comes into view in current engine your CPU gets clogged and FPS goes down the drain.

Who among you wants an F-16 for DCS - Petition here!
TZeer replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in Chit-Chat
The poll is bad. Of course I would welcome the F-16 to the DCS word. But I would rather have F/A-18 or F-15E. It's like asking if you want 100 bucks. Of course you do. Then add some terms to those 100 bucks and you might change mind. And for your info, the next multirole module coming from ED to DCS is the F/A-18C in case you didn't know :) -
-
If you haven't cranked your graphic settings to the max and saturated your GPU, you should see increased performance by overclocking your CPU :)

Boos and sustained burn time, bleeding of speed. Last time I checked, the boost time and sustained burn time where the same. In RL the boost time is only there for a short moment (which seems ok) while the sustained burn time is there for a lot longer, not accelerating anymore, just maintaining speed. In game the sustained burn time is the same as boost time, which is incorrect. That's the short story :)

What on earth are you talking about? You act like you're the high protector of DCS fidelity. I hate to break it to you, but you're not... ED has stated that DCS will include products ranging from FC3 fidelity to full spec high fidelity simulations as the A-10C and Ka-50. No matter what dribble and negativity you manage to spew out will change that. And simply by your attitude, where you actually welcome a failed KS campaign for adding a very exciting module to DCS World, shows me that you are a very "small" person, thinking purely about yourself and your interest instead of the DCS World as a community. Posting so much negativity, and constantly bashing a product that is not even of the ground is beyond me. Specially when it doesn't affect you one bit. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

This has nothing to do with this thread. Should be posted here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35070

I was thinking more of a "snapshot" like when you take a screenshot. They are like, a few megabytes. Put some filters on it, whatever fancy stuff that's doable. If you wanna zoom in on an area, it generates a new "snapshot" for a closer up look. Apply filter like noise, black/white++. The engine is already capable up putting labels on objects, and automatically track a moving vehicle in the TGP. Should be doable to use that in some sort to automatically pick out moving stuff etc. ?? I don't know, I'm just tossing out ideas :p
-
What kinda processing power are we talking about, and for how long?
-
What about just having a "camera" taking a snapshot in the 3d world from a top-down view. Apply filters, done?
