  1. Not since I play (2.5 years).
  2. This there a ground level differential between your base and target points? I was flying off R-Alt once and did some ugly deliveries until I noticed that my logic didn't hold water.
  3. Slightly off-topic again, sorry: Is there a formula that I can simply plug my calculated drag index into and get the relevant speeds and/or endurance out of?
  4. Blocked that, much better. Luckily I didn't need to adblock each bulb LOL @Trev: What does AO refer to in this context...?
  5. Just want to get this here as a cross-reference to post #100 from a page before: About targeting
  6. In the Youtube videos, it seems that during the SEM, you push the throttle up only after the TVV is about at the horizon. Is that intentional to prevent more altitude loss? It delays the time until the power is available, causing a slight coasting phase in the climb. Ref here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tViAs1dI47E&t=0m27s
  7. I don't speak Russian at all, but the Google Translate offers basic functionality for RU- EN. Sometimes there are great discussions in the Russian part, but I don't regularly invest the time to make sense of the auto-translated texts because it is still hard to read. Am I missing out on a lot there?
  8. Yay changelog link! :cheer3nc:
  9. There's documentation in the lua up to line 212. I don't get scripting, but I now have a general idea of what the SAMs do (Hint: made of nastyness and hate...). Great Grimes!
  10. @EtherealN: What's a coffee boy? Are you an intern now? LOL
  11. Played this with some people earlier: Mission runs fine, and the chatter comes in well. We'll re-play it in the new year, too.
  12. I like it. Unfortunately, mission editing takes so long that I end up completely turning down the music because I can't stand it anymore after some hours. That's not the music's fault, mind you. That'd happen with any often-repeated track.
  13. Is it usual for aircraft to put down their own smoke as reference or is that usually the ground forces only? Putting the smoke there has exactly the same difficulties that he actual bomb delivery has.
  14. Pretty much. And keep in mind that nobody is making you buy the stuff. Either the people you say you're talking about are successful with that, or there's no willingness to pay and those people will look for another way to allocate their time.
  15. Some modders do take donations, which is perfectly fine. And from the feedback many people including me would indeed pay for those mods. BTW: In this case, addon might me more appropriate than mod.
  16. Thanks Sobek, I completely missed that. The only thing I heard about that was that there was something to get Steam and dcs.com keys to one common account.
  17. Technically, transferring is against the EULA. And I'm not sure if you'd only be substituting existing sales from one person to another instead of generating new ones by giving away licences. My suggestion would be to buy ED modules from the dcs.com when they're not on sale. I reckon that that makes the most money stick with ED.
  18. Thanks for asking. I trained in no wind/really low wind conditions so far. As I wrote somewhere in here, I completely lost track of that thread you refer to. OTOH, there are few people I trust in regards to this topic, so I'll not comment and wait for an answer. BTW: This thread is immensely valuable. I just completed a flight with someone who I pointed here (sorry JayPee...) and he picked up the concepts real fast - clearly more precise than me trying to put it into words.
  19. You could argue that you have _lots_ of corners in a sphere. Ask any 3d-artist...
  20. I actually made one, so no need for that, thanks. What irritated me was the part of the post. With that out of the way, I know what you mean.
  21. Not clear: Either this means that one flies towards the target in a constantly steepening turn (to keep the 45 degrees) or I can't follow you here.
  22. For those who haven't seen it in the (longish) thread before: The spam message that gets spammed on TS is due to the server anti flood setting. It can be increased on the server and the message goes away. Here is what you can do: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1425771&postcount=590
  23. Thanks sir! Gives me five servers as of now - plausible as they need to be brought back up, too.
  24. Last time it was about an hour IIRC (without looking for that thread). Nothing major anyways and I agree that IT needs time for coffee :)
  25. I try to not get too uptight with that. Before a run, I take a mental note of how things look and how I assess my position/movement relative to ideal, and then see how the run turns out. If it's off or otherwise whacky and I notice that multiple times, I have a pattern that I can correct. Simplified example: Rolling too late -> exessive dive. So if I notice that I keep diving exessively, I know (assume) that I roll too late. For similar parameters, I set myself up with a small range (WPs placed in a square) so that I always fly in the same area. My range pattern is far from perfect, but works better than the things I tried before.
