Why always erasing my settings with every patch?
Supersheep replied to Mongolf's topic in General Questions
Can you make a copy of the .\Saved Games\DCS\Config\ folder when it is all set up and re-paste it after a patch? Still it's not supposed to happen, but that way you don't need to redo the controls every time. I suspect it has to do with how the updater is run, maybe from a diferent user account (admin?). -
Gamespy? Something like XFire? I don't know people who (still) use either. Edit: 03:31 PM!? That is when I got on my train to travel to my DCS rig xD (Yes, for that purpose)

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1645277 So many bits are filled with 'info' about this LASTE thing that I stopped trying to follow on what its current state is, much less trying to get it worked out myself. There's a correcting dumb bombs thread somewhere, and it's 12 pages going nowhere. I wouldn't waste time on that and rather use it to practice CCIPing. Super-

??? The last page made me wonder what to expect from the weapons. For a ship to sink, you need water. And the radars are usually mounted on the mast, the highest point of the ship. Is there any water? Maybe there's shrapnel and bent metal, and the ship might even be blind, but it's not going to go down in most any cases. Designers hopefully expected the thing to be shot at, and accounted for that. This reads like only having a truck, yet thinking it should outrun a drag car. Can it do it? Maybe in some limited circumstances. Would one bet on it? Me, nope.

Not sure when this happened and if there has been a thread for it, but thanks for this important step. Now, I can acually see what's hot on the boards again :) Now, only the A-10 board can still use some work. Super-

You can read the likes of Chíckenhawk, A-10s in the Gulf and Viper Pilot during the time. Makes you feel better, and you learn plenty of things, too.

Better yet, have the arms form a 90 deg angle and have them hang, not held in place. As is ideal for a keyboard. Tendons that are moved and being pressed on are not good, either. Shoulders, however, hang naturally. Not good is to have the arms considerably in front of you, especially extended to a desk that is higher.

Hey, you're not the only one. I fly the A-10C, and own the TM:W. When I had a month off, I put that to good use and flew plenty - long and often. After a week I felt uncomfortable, after two my wrist hurt and my hands were partially "stinging" from numbness, and after three I actually had to see a doctor. Worst of all, I had to pause flying for six weeks :/ It turned out my throttle was positioned badly that subsequently caused serious strain and muscle issues. Since I wasn't flying as intensively before, I didn't notice this earlier. As said already, a doctor can help you a) make sure there's nothing more serious and that symptoms will fade again and b) that this is indeed the cause. I suggest you take a break that's longer than just until the symptoms are gone to truly relive your hands, btw. Get well soon! Super. Think about your setup: -angled-off hands -arms extended in front of you -streched fingers -repetetive movements -etc

That's a funny gap between the intakes and the chines (?). Maybe good for shielding the wing from stuff (heat? blown compressor blades?), but I wonder why it is not covered for drag reasons.

The August 2nd Wags Update! Thread
Supersheep replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Well that's a shining example of a community member there. I usually am disappointed by these threads b/c I notice that there's no update yet, and then I forget about it until the next day. Or, I forget that it's Friday again, and when I finally see it, the update reminds me that yet another week has passed, cutting my exam preparation time ever shorter... :( Super- -
[DCS World - A10-C] - RWR Audio Expansion
Supersheep replied to Tetra's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
One can always set up a sandbox mission in the ME and see what makes which noise when. Edit: I might still have one. If so, I'll upload in a week or two (no flying for me atm. Sad, uh? ^^) -
A mod that comes without the BMS files should be ok? Like Audacity handles the lame_enc.dll the user can add the BMS files himself.
-
As explained above, Shkval is not an option. That's why I'm not sure this method would be used at all.
-
At night, NVGs allow you to see the beams. You could try to use that to share targets, but I'm not positive that that's good practice. Edit: I once tested this with KA-50 and A-10C, but cannot recall if it worked both ways. And I don't remember in which version (1.2.0?) I did the testing. Super-

Deleted docs mysteriously reappear
Supersheep replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The average Hard Drive is much more likely to die on you after three to four years already. Nobody I know worries about that, and a lot of people deliberately ignore this very real risk - against better knowledge, that is :dunno: Super- -
Some mod like that already exists for DCS: I was asking about it in a PM, but never heard back. Figured that the mod is squadron-only (which is ok).

Leap Motion looks promising
Supersheep replied to Thrakazog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Indeed, as my edit was supposed to indicate. Thanks for the link. -

Nevermind, google says that's not true. (functionality is another thing entirely). Uhm, what!? This has no mouse emulation? -
Does that mean that you are in some way affiliated with a company supplying/maintaining part of the systems? I read "their company" as the BWFuhrparkserviceGmbH, but I don't assume that they do helicopters, too. (I might be way off here). Super-

Maybe I don't know enough about the sim business (quite likely), but aren't there some high-quality F-16s already? ED (or whoever) better does a top notch job, or people look elsewhere. This level of requirement puts any profit into perspective, me thinks.
-
Do you think this because of the Viper or because of the other software around and how the products compare in general?

Tugs Tenders Oilers ->underway replenishment -->vertical replenishment harbors docks dry docks Information sharing between the units. Not a fog of war type, but based on actual radio/datalink/morse code/ interoperability Also nice to have: An "easy" way to set up defence rings for carrier groups (air, surface, subsurface) without spending a year in the ME USS Florida style operations

I'll blow the lower threshold: 20 still, for some weeks. Running a sim community, I feel way older :(
