  1. That is a good point. And Did you learn this by doing?^^ Too dumb to be devised xD Supersheep
  2. @StrongHarm: I know your profiles (really great) and understand the concept of covering every [insert curse here ;)] single combination, but I would want to set up VAC to set the buttons of the radios without looking down. Then, after that, your work comes into play. I'll hit Google for some background on radios with VAC now (better than forums search..?) Respect for the BS and FC radio profiles, though! I assume you know this fwllow's work: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59641&highlight=radio+vac Supersheep
  3. Is it possible to use VAC to control the radio settings like frequency and all the other knobs on the radio and intercom panel? I see that there are (unused) commands prepared in the options menu, so I assume that this should work. That would be gorgeous! I see only frequency increase/decrease commands, no way to directly command a specific frequency with VAC, however... Supersheep
  4. Just curious, can you elaborate? As a civilian, I cannot image what kind of stuff you could put in the way of someone wanting to become certified :D Supersheep

  6. @all: It is 20%, not 20$ off at D2D. Edit: BS2 for 19.99, though... (?) Supersheep
  7. Hehe - that exactly is the trick of the Record AVI tool. It does not render in real-time as the normal gameplay does, but renders a pre-recorded track frame by frame in a user-defined quality setting. It takes the time it needs to do the job and is limited by the write speed of my hard-disk, indeed. Yes, it takes a long time to do, but that is the purpose of this tool. Recording ingame? Correct, not so good. Supersheep
  8. If you consider those very first hours "entertainment"... :megalol: But I think you are right. Before learning anything I jumped into a ramp start mission and just hit the buttons like I thought to. No ideo, no plan, no good, but very much fun :P Later, it is fun again. Supersheep
  9. Yep, I see you point now. You are talking about this picture. Quite nice idea. This is a great trade-off rather than a disadvantage, as it makes the best of the limited resources (money, space etc.) Is that an 8" display (I guess, whose extra space you cleverly allocated for more) or in fact like the 7" you linked? Thanks for your patience! Supersheep
  10. Thanks Sway, I have not checked ebay.co.uk for displays, only the .com. I promptly found a 8" screen from the same seller. Now I am really indecisive. Go for something that fills the MFD completely (and waste some disply real estate) or let it be and go for the cheaper version (and leave a "gap" and be annoyed everytime I look at it? In any case, this seems better than betting the device I linked above will output a PC image... Supersheep My find (essentially the same as yours - cannot rename links in Firefox??): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VGA-A-V-TFT-Driver-board-comes-8inch-tft-4-3-800-600-HCR-N1-V2-AT080TN52-/220884171609?pt=UK_Computing_LaptopAccess_RL&hash=item336db8fb59
  11. Hi! I am trying out the Record AVI Tool and found out that it consistently crashes (does not load at all) when I select a resolution that is greater than the one of my screen, that is greater than 1680*1050. I thought its purpose was to render better videos than the machine can crank out in real-time...? This hapens regardless of any other settings. And of course there is plenty of disk space. The particular track exceeds 5 MB so I cannot upload it, but it happens with short ones, too. Any help appreciated :) Supersheep
  12. As promised, I made a quick mission to get used to JDAM delivery. Since I do not have too much time now, I have not tested if the rearming at Kobuleti works (or the group of F16 takes off and leaves the airfield empty.) The TGP is loaded for the single GBU 12 and to allow you to check on the damage done in case one of my triggers does not work (This is my fist "mission" and I never used them before. They should be ok, though). To penetrate the fog with the TGP, go to IR and adjust the gain and level settings on the TGP page (unrealistic?) If you spot any errors (tested first JTAC target - ok), feel free to let me know, so I can learn about building "missions". File attached. Have fun! Supersheep JDAM Practice based on Siiting Ducks.miz
  13. Hi! If you want to practice, you can make a mission with a target (a tank, say) that is stationary (gps is no use, otherwise) and set a waypoint on it. I like to modify the very simple "Sitting Ducks" mission for these kind of training. Create Waypoints, insert a JTAC and change weather. I will make you a quick one later. I can also make you a track of one, however, I have not really worked with a JTAC yet. If I get it done, you will see it here, if not, I will make a track of a "waypoint attack (not that difficult) Supersheep
  14. That is about 200 Euros for me :( ATM, I am looking for something like this to do the job on the cheap. It says it has a VGA port, so I might be able to abuse it as an MFD screen. Two would be a bit more than 100 Euros. Just thinking however and that needs more research. And by the way and more on topic: That is a great and functional build! Especially the choice of your switches (or the ease of access to the functions the box provides, to be more precise). Supersheep
  15. Your "eightinchers" seem to fit perfectly. I am currently looking for a set for my planned MFDs and would be especially interested if you do not use the Lilliputs, as they come in a bit pricey for me. Edit: I have seen an inscription on a screen in one of your images, but cannot make sense of it.. Supersheep
  16. I will go for the Rev. 2, then. Any chance for me to identify the version before I buy when they ought to cost the same? I will ask the vendor, I guess. @Loz: Thanks for stressing. I have not seen the part I quoted as so grave. Saving me some trouble :) Man, this sim is making me go bankrupt xD Next I'll need two 8" screens and then a new graphics card to hook some more displays up and more time per day... :dunno: Supersheep
  17. Hi! I am very persuaded by the Thrustmaster MFSs, but need some more input. In the other thread I found this: and Those are the two on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=thrustmaster+mfd&x=0&y=0 I cannot make out any show-stopper on either version (exept the price) How big are the differences and should I spend the extra ~$30? Thanks! Supersheep
  18. Man, I am again wondering how you created the lettering. Printed on a mask (how to cut out that mask...?)? Sprayed and "written" with a router? Lithography? Looking good! Supersheep
  19. Jeez I finally made it to the boom. So you can in fact get fuel from Texaco :) Image attached because no one will believe me. That was 7 (seven) connects with ~1,500 (?) pounds of fuel when Texaco decided to call it a day... At least more than I burned in that time :) And @simfreakl: Thanks for that mission, I found it today and gave it a shot. Nice simple setup. See image below. Supersheep
  20. Now that is some fast and serious incentive. Much appreciated, Supersheep
  21. Over at The WarfareSims, they are working on Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations (formerly known as Project: Red Pill), which will simulate all kinds of EW (and include sonar, satellites, radar, mines and so on). So it can be done, but it is really complex and makes for an own sim. Again, I am waiting for the future :) You can find many entries here: http://www.warfaresims.com/ Supersheep
  22. Reporting back: They can be defeated by a single AGM 65H. But they do defeat you, too, if you are not really careful. I guess ya all knew that already, uh? :joystick: Supersheep
  23. Sure, will do. If I get close enough, that is. I do not know the system yet, but I will find out. Supersheep
  24. I just set up a little mission with me and a Tunguska. After getting my Maverick off, I was so fascinated by its missile launch and the mav intercept that I did not even notice the true destination was me aircraft. So, no, Tunguskas don't shoot down no mavs anymore. Jeez. Should have trusted the one who posted this above :( And not attack from the sea inna future. Supersheep
  25. And an aircraft that can uses something more sophisticated. SDB's, anyone? Or an SSGN like USS Florida. Or an EW aircraft. Or player-controllable ground combat. Or a DCS. So much to do. So much to learn. I am dreaming too far ahead. Supersheep
