Yaw behavior is totally unexpected!
Supersheep replied to Shaderhacker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
And I always assumed that this effect is caused by the rudders position above the center of gravity of the whole plane, so it does not only induce yaw, but also pitch via the created torque vectors... Super- -
I cannot reproduce, see track below. Only EAC started, no tests, no engines etc. Do you reset the switches on the Warthog throttle before loading the game in case you use one? Just a cold, dark jet. 1. Battery power 2. Inverter 3. APU 4. (wait) APU Gen 5. CDU on 6. Switch next to 5) 7. CICU on 8. IFFCC on (even needed?) 9. MFCDs on 9. Load Data 10. wait 11. hit OSB 9 - NAV Mode 12. NMSP - EGI 13. SAS switches 14. Radar altimeter on 15. EAC on? Super- EAC.trk

Two weeks ago I removed all curves from my axes, now I don't get those intense uncontrollable oscillations anymore. From time to time I bang around, but thats due to my incompetence. Super-

You're basically waiting for Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations then. http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1101 Make sure to check the videos, they implemented more than my Supreme Commander-loving brain could notice in one go. Super-

Got my TM Hotas Warthdog!
Supersheep replied to Delerium's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Depends on where you are. In Germany, voelkner.de sells them for $370. Got mine from there. Edit: Free shipping Don't know about the US. Super- -
@Eddie: Why that roll from 0:45 on? To avoid bringing the nose down with negative G's (because of the fuel lines?)? I know too little about SEMs, must change that. Super-

That confuses me. Searching for the targets etc diverts attention from said correction, it is difficult to keep the plane level while looking around or into the pit [edit]so I would trim to eliminate this need.[/edit] Super-
-
I never knew that one can use the side windows as a reference. Now I need to try this to improve my dirty bomb runs. Side-observation: Is there a reason why you don't trim your plane? Before the release, you oscillate between pitching down and pulling back on the stick. Super-

Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook
Supersheep replied to lobo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks for including the charts, you put them into the most useful place. Very handy! @Viper: I really thought you posted a screenshot. Looked convincing, I had to look again - ED needs to put steel on target with the DX11 EDGE :D Super- -
Re-arranging cockpit switches prior mission?
Supersheep replied to Kenan's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi! In the GUI manual, there is a section on the "Prepare aircraft" feature. With this, you start the mission, preset the aircraft to your likings and then save this for future runs of the mission. It does interfere with selecting custom loadouts on the briefing screen (not recommended in the manual), so you lose flexibility with it. For details, refer to page 57 of the GUI Manual. Please note that I have not used this function yet, so no more insight from me here... Super- -
While these German soldiers in Afghanistan obviously have a very different and urgent problem, this is what happens when you set the HOF wrong (Artillery, but...): http://www.vidup.de/v/UQL6X/ At the beginning, they are understandably furious about the strike. At 0:30, after the cease fire-call, the radio guy learns that there are still two rounds in the air - hence the "Runter!" (Get down")-order. These eventually impact in the vincity of a G36-fireteam. And the gag at the end of the video (1:02 and following) does only work in German, as far as I can think of. Here's my try to explain it Basically, the guy says "We have a Durchfaller. This means the round had a wrong HOF and "fell through". But Durchfall happens to be the German term for dysentery, which explains the answer "Ich hab hier auch gleich Durchfall" - I'll get dysentery here, as well..." Training footage, by the way. Someone made a mistake. And the 102/105 probably will producs duds instead of a heap of smoke, I think. Super-

C-130 and C-17 Formation Flight
Supersheep replied to Backy 51's topic in User Created Missions General
I wondered why this isn't possible a while back as well. Very quick and unscientific research shows that C-17s [edit]predominantly[/edit] fly "Trail"-formation (or something similar). This is easier to set up than a flight of multiple big aircraft doing more intricate formation as you would need to set each plane's height for each waypoint individually. Back then, I did not try to implement a formation as I wa only doing a practice mission and wanted to have some eye-candy in there. Super- -
Off topic, but @Jona: Look into the thread "Another FNG" over at the FSF/Introductions. Addition: Its a sim by Microprose, possibly not the same... Super-

We have someone with experience in F117 as well :) Me not, however... Anyways, you're welcome! Super-

Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog
Supersheep replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So, we need a way to make an un-sticky material stick on our balls (no, you get it..).. On frying pans the process involves heat, but thats not too good for the stick. Just adding a teflon grease won't hold long, I guess? Super- -
Ah, now I get it. I don't remember the whole thread, but as far as I know these are from member Reactorone. He has done great work on the differnt panels. See here and here. Sorry for me not getting what you meant, Super-

If you don't mean the continuously updated list with links in the first post, I'm a bit toopid as well... Super-

Wich is a good CMS program forcountermeasures?
Supersheep replied to LcSummers's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I guess that the UK pilots also need to take response time into account, when they are close to the ground that is kinda dangerous. While I really don't know any specifics, I heard that the terrain is very demanding and limits the performance of helicopters. Super- -
..and from Germany. Now that saves me some time on the video that I'll invest into studying your miz in the editor. Need to get to terms with SEAD flights :) Thanks, already! Super-

Camera manipulation, Missile seeker camera..
Supersheep replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Now I am interested in your final work :) And btw, you could break away, cut the video and replace the last meters with a distorted image of a very close fly-by. Or just go for it, simply call it one of your production tools and not simulator. Problem solved xD Super- -

Can I change the amount of countermeasures when playing MP?
Supersheep replied to Crescendo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Your practice is reasonable the way you describe it, I think. I outlayed it a bit different ;) Wish-thread is in the making. EDIT: Never mind, you were faster. Super- -
Can I change the amount of countermeasures when playing MP?
Supersheep replied to Crescendo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi! Aren't you announcing your presence and position to anyone interested by pumping out these flares? I only drop flares when I am near a known IR threat and/or in a sensitive position like an attack run. Am I thinking wrong here? Super- -
