  1. Hi! What do I do when my markpoints are obscuring the TAD? Yesterday I had difficulties hooking the datalink symbol because my markpoints were all over the place... Tips are welcome! Super.
  2. No, I do not know how to pull off this feat, but possibly you/he/whoever read the thread w/o being logged in and hit the reply-button only after seeing the page counter - just like I do most of the time. Nothing magical here :) Super-
  3. Then one of you is logged in, the other not.. Being logged in generates longer pages.
  4. I do not know whether Dimebug's plans are designed to be printed, but if it is practical, the Adobe PDF Reader can print big things in multiple small "tiles". In the print Options, you need to select "Split big pages" (or so, I use a german verision: "Große Seiten teilen"...). This way you only have to figure out things like overlap and order instead of finding an A1 or A0 printer. HTH, Super-
  5. Hi! Mic forward usually (edit: if you tuned your first VHF radio, that is) . Did you cross-check the frequency? I had some surprises with this; however I think it is correct because you hear him. Freq should be in the briefing. If you cannot say clear pre-contact, you could be positioned wrong and the tanker blocks the process then. Super-
  6. Hi! For 1): Here you go For 2): No, its more simple. Go into the TrackIR software, select Advanced (I think) and via the drop-down menu choose the function you want. Then hit the button right of it and press the desired key on your HOTAS. You can use the paddle switch, MIC UP, and MIC DOWN to get started. Over time, you will find some versions better so adapt them to your liking. Super-
  7. Oh, while we're at it: There are some stickies that could be un-stickied, in my opinion. The "Pre-Order"-Threat is a candidate that just comes to my mind... Super-
  8. (Edit: Clarified a thing or two) I am not yet sure what you mean, but do VAC T. A. R. G. E. T and HELIOS fit into your list? I know that there is much for them on the board, however. Super-
  9. Jep, your thinking is correct^^ You do not need to use target for anything I mentioned. And trim hat/view, TrackIR and the rudder axis are all unrelated of one another. You change the TrackIR comands in the TIR software, map the trim hat to actually trim in the DCS commands menu and assign the rotary to the rudder in the DCS commands menu. By default, you trim the plane with STRG-Key plus the Trim hat. Possible, but unneeded as you have a TrackIR. More intuitive and "HOTAS-like". I tthink there are even some images around here that show how you do this. I could make one tomorrow, though. Super-
  10. Hi again and congrats to your new home defence tool (or HOTAS)! [Edit] see answer for first post below[\Edit] I can't comment on BS (or 2), but generally you do this in the Options/Controls menu. Select Sim Mode, filter for Axis commands, select the Pitch axis and click the "Assign Axis" button. At least this is what I remember, I do not have DCS around now. If not correct, it is very similar at least. TrackIR does not change anything by itself as it runs independently on its own. You can make some unused buttons on the Warthog to act as TIR controls (Pause, Recenter) in the TIR software (really recommended, this is!) For the post above (saw it only now): You want to map your trim commands in DCS to the Trim hat (this is what its there for, I guess), because out of the box, that hat moves your view. You do not need to load a profile for the A10, it is plug and play. Again, I cannot comment on any other sims here, maybe there is advice on this somewhere around here. Tip: do not use the forum search, but search using the Google site parameter. Go here to see what I mean and then enter yuor search string. Simplifies things. Enjoy! Super-
  11. You want a TrackIR in your Warthog, I wish you be best of luck selling Naturalpoint that they should port their stuff. +1 for OP, however! Super-
  12. Hi again! The order in which you set it up does not really matter, I did both in the past and I can confirm that you are ok with loading only the latest software from the web. You do not need an USB hub, I run mine directly connected to the PC (kinda the idea behind USB, isn't it? The WH does not consume so much power...) And since the last firmware update, I have not heard of another bricked unit, for me this is reason enough to believe the error is fixed. So as said above, update ASAP and forget about it. But no, the firmware will not update automatically, you have to initiate this by yourself. See attached guide from Thrustmaster. File is attached. Super- Warthog_Firmware_procedure_Online_v1_ENG.pdf
  13. I stopped utilizing speedbrakes. They amplify any trouble you have keeping your speed correct, I think. Besides, i read somewhere that no speedbrakes are used IRL, so there must be a reason for this. And refueling w/o disconnects, nice for sure, but that is a long way left to go for me. But its great that I finally get the knack of it. And btw, I reduced my curves a bit, that helped me too. I do not remember the values, but I think they were excessive. Super-
  14. Ha - I just heard the tanker call "Transfer complete" for the first time :) I took about 70% in four connects. No track because I was trying overhead breaks before landing. That did not make for some nice flying:pilotfly: Now I need to get the throttle right while on the boom. I constantly fail to judge how much I need to add/reduce to move "that two feet" fore or aft. Pushing and almost immediately returning the throttle as mentioned by someone above helped a great deal already. I'll be searching the post to throw a rep at it when I am there. :):):) Super-
  15. We need a change waypoint for ground units. You could then set up a task at a waypoint and use a radio option to trigger this. Besides, this would make patrols and other kind of loops cleaner than just throwing 60 waypoints in an area. Super-
  16. Download is now ready. Again, thank you very much for this valuable work! Super-
  17. Hi mac, the Warthog should not brick anymore. Update the firmware of both the throttle and the stick as soos as you get them, then you should be fine. No need to unplug it all the time anymore, either. For the rudder axis, I would recommend you to use the rotary instead of the throttle. I have not used it yet, but it has a center position and I like the second throttle (for startup, in case you loose an engine to fire or fire (umm, wait, I just re-read that...)). You have to wait for someone who can say something about the profiles, i only fly the A-10 (how could you have the time to learn and fly more than one airframe...??) Super-
  18. Hi! The Warthog is the only throttle I know of that allows you to grease the balls, if you fancy this :D. Keep in mind that this has to do with the "sticktioness" or whatever it is called (ask Mower for details...^^) Also, if you want to extend it, there are some creative guys around here, which is helped by the screw-on handle.. I doubt that this is possible (or wanted) with the X 65. For the combat pedals, I do not really know if I would buy them again. I really like what I got, but they are way behind my imagination of those Simpeds (which I have never seen yet and which cost even more $$$). Since I learned that the pro-flight pedals from Saitek use the same internals as the combat edition, I think that they will do ok, too. 19. Verstanden, das waren dann gerade 70 gesparte Euro. Danke! Super-
Vielen Dank, Super-
  21. Hi! I own one since about six months. When you get yours, update the firmware of both the throttle and the stick immediately. After that, you should be ok. I have not heard about issues with mainboards, and it won't matter if you leave it plugged or unplug it all the time. Enjoy :) Supersheep
  22. Oh, and remember to control the speed of the tanker at that altitude. IIRC, its indicated and not true or ground speed. This messed up a tanker in a mission I helped builld recently, he dropped to about 160 knots -> uncool. Supersheep
  23. Could you post your mission? Later, I can supply you with one that works... Supershep
  24. What do you guys so frequently need those fuel tanks for? The only thing I use them is to force a landing at the start of a mission I built. I read in the manual that they are NEVER used in combat... Or are you fancying ferry flights?^^ :joystick::megalol: Edit: That was probably a bit rude. I did not mean it to be... ->Sorry! /Edit Supersheep
  25. Is the APU regularly used above 20k feet? I always spooked around there without it and am wondering about the background. Saving engine thrust from the generators? Prepare for an engine flameout? Supersheep
