  1. Wolf Rider, this document gives a little bit different figures. For example, for landing (seems like between 19 - 21): http://www.dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Angle_of_attack_indicator_%28A-10%29
  2. And the opposite of tally is "No joy" (= Aircrew does not have visual contact with the target/bandit/landmark; opposite of tally.)
  3. I think the manual tells almost nothing about AoA. If someone has a good link about usage of Angle of Attack Indicator I would be pleased.
  4. I think that with the dot/dash comment glider referred to the scanned pics uploaded by Inseckt.
  5. http://www.crazyengineers.com/hdd-prices-rise-owing-to-thailand-floods-1194/ I think it could be some 50%? http://m.ibtimes.com/thailand-floods-flooding-western-digital-samsung-apple-seagate-hard-drive-shortages-pc-shortage-chri-238701.html :(
  6. AMD Catalyst™ 11.10 Version 3 Preview Driver, has anyone installed? White boxes or not?
  7. ^^ And if from the mission menu, you have to click that tiny black triangle so that you can choose "My Missions" and now you can find it.
  8. Fakum, I happened to find this very old thread/message (feel free to read the whole thread if you wish) while searching for something else: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1026297&postcount=40 Don't know if the info is totally valid with later versions of A-10C, but anyway.
  9. Actually you need a two stage trigger (or two buttons) for gun (PAC-1). ????
  10. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1310618&postcount=36
  11. First time (Instant action mission) I was a bit confused as well: Am I supposed to kill 'em all? I don't have enough ammo? What is this? Then I noticed that I have a wingman (with lotsa ordnance). :megalol:
  12. I use the grey slider to zoom. Upped a pic to explain what I mean (see below, behind the spoiler tags).
  13. Exigo, nobody can handle the stick/plane that accurately and smoothly. You must be cheatin' somehow. :D
  14. During the gulf war (early 90's), pilots noticed that carrying more than 2 mavericks might cause problems. At least they mention about it in this book: http://www.potomacbooksinc.com/Books/BookDetail.aspx?productID=97596
  15. As a newbie myself, I did find some online video tutorials very informative. I'd suggest watching this one first: http://youtu.be/ZbMBBYCIqvQ The go to http://dcswiki.com/index.php?title=DCS:_A-10C_Tutorial_Collection and watch all the "Navigation System Tutorials". Especially ones by Fish and BBQ. And download the airfield diagrams as well, so that you know the runway headings and numbers and Tacan and ILS frequencies! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60370DCS http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=37&file=1200 Watch the tutorials, learn. And try all the stuff these guys showed you. I suggest the radio tutorials too, so you can professionally contact the tower before takeoff and landing. One more thing, about the ILS: ILS steering bars don't quite work as they should at the moment. Maybe they'll be fixed in the future. See this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70045 Actually, I couldn't even imagine how exciting it is to navigate in the middle of the night. See the stars with night vision goggles, Tacan and ILS morse codes as a sweet background music, dimly lit instrument panels glowing, engines running smoothly. Wow! Almost jettisoned all my weapons... :D
  16. My Throttle Pinky is wayyy more lighter to operate than any other switch! Just compare it with for example Autopilot Switch! Throttle pinky is not like any other switch at all. Not even close! :imho: So, it is very normal. Although I can feel/distinguish the different positions easily. It's not that loose.
  17. Default settings, almost. Just assigned Pause and Center keys to my mouse, instead of default function keys. TrackIR5 is un****inbeliavable stable and accurate. Couldn't believe it would be that good. But it is.
  18. You talkin' to me? :D With my main screen and the one (below that) with MFCDz I use this one: http://www.ergotron.com/Products/tabid/65/PRDID/355/Default.aspx It's very handy. The rightmost one is a HP touch screen, with its own stand. Only tilt is adjustable. But will do.
  19. Just one thing to remember, AFAIK: If you wanna use 3 monitors simultaneously, at least one of them must be connected to display port (or mini display port, depends on your video card model). If your monitors happen have only DVI or VGA connectors, you need an active adapter. With max. 1920 x 1080 resolutions the adapters are pretty cheap, but with higher resolutions (dual-link) the adapters are a bit more expensive.
  20. Thanks! I did consider a three monitor eyefinity setup as well, but after purchasing TrackIR 5 I feel very comfortable with only one main monitor. The tiny monitor with attached MFCD-frames is a cheap 18.5" Acer. The rightmost is a 23" HP touch screen. My mobile phone cam pic shows the dimensions of the screens maybe a bit distorted because the 24" main screen appears to be tinier than the touch screen, although it is not. And they are both 1920 x 1080. :smilewink: I haven't installed the Target-software at all, and on the other hand AFAIK just changing software settings cannot fully get the "mission accomplished": http://forum.lockon.ru/showpost.php?p=1048283&postcount=4 I think some hardware mod is needed: http://www.warthogworld.com/hangar/content.php?4-How-to-physically-offset-your-Warthog-by-15-degrees! Too bad, no...
  21. Yes. I'd like to have my stick center mounted. But the 15-degree-tweak would also be required to avoid wrist pain. If only there were a "quick button" to change the Thrustmaster Warthog stick from F-16 version to center mounted A-10 version, and vice versa.
  22. Nice rig, Walker! Slightly Off-Topic, but anyway... My humble newbie setup, don't laugh...: :joystick:
