  1. The cockpit area lighting still requires attention IMO,it looks to me as if there is an interior light permanently switched on,and this doesn't come across as being very realistic. This is with the deferred lighting on,maybe I should switch this off,to be perfectly honest I think the devs have done a sterling job with Normandy and 2.1.1,and this really is my only gripe.
  2. Yes please JST love your work,we want more !!!
  3. Beautiful, top work Sir,looking forward to these appearing.
  4. My Mk IX every time.......although I love them both, the Pony has the added advantage of being able to ground pound, with it's rockets and bombs, but in a straight dogfight the Spit has my vote.
  5. Re the update,I would just like to say a very big thank you to all at ED. The work that has been put in is outstanding guys, and the quality of the product is really fantastic, making Normandy 44 an absolute pleasure to fly. I would also like to take time out in thanking both Big Newy and Sithspawn for their very patient help in sorting out all our little update issues with amazing speed, the quality of their customer support is very much appreciated. DCS is looking good and is heading in the right direction IMO. Thanks guys.
  6. All ok now, sorry to take up forum space and time, must've been something causing this, but I couldn't tell you what it was if you asked me. Sorry guys ps Btw the custom skins are working fine. @ Winston......don't know what your beef is about bro, this section is for 1.5 and for 2.0,read the section header .
  7. Yes,I am,and I must admit I have not tested all the aircraft yet.
  8. As you can see I am getting a problem with the aircraft skins after updating to 2.1.1,todays update, prior to this all skins were fine.now some skins are a stealthy shiny black. So far the P-51D and the Fw190-D9 have the problem, for some reason the B-17G is fine.
  9. Re Today's update and the extended WWII Assets Pack, which has had new units added to it,my question is does anyone know what those new additions are? I've seen the update change list today, but it doesn't inform you what new additions have been added, only that the WWII Assets Pack has been extended and that new units have been added. Thanks
  10. Great work DOL,thank you very much for your efforts Sir.
  11. Agreed,it also had the unfortunate turn rate of an oil taker too, this is where the tight turning Mustangs got the better of it,this and attacking them when they came into land,so agreed, they weren't invincible by any means.
  12. Yeah,he had me wondering what was going on as well,lol,......no,it's update day today guys !........Wednesday is now our new update day. Looking for a few gifts from Ed myself, mainly the Gamma slider and maybe some FLAK if we're lucky,to set those multiplayer servers alight with WWII atmosphere.
  13. +1 Not many.
  14. Just the basics bud,if you want to make an acute turn in combat you don't want your kite climbing or diving, that is,not if you hadn't intended it to do so,so trimming out the elevator is mandatory. Getting the rudder neutral buy correcting your slip and turn indicator is also a must do,as again you don't want your kite moving off a single degree in the flight path you guide it to. So in short, get these two procedures corrected after successfully taking off, and you have an aircraft that is performing for you,not arguing with you.
  15. Trim is your friend, after taking off, take a little time out and ensure you have the Spit really well trimmed, and I mean, take your feet off of the rudder pedals and study what your slip and turn gauge is telling you. Trim your rudder so that your flying straight, after this trim your elevator so that your Spit has the best aero advantage,ie your aircraft is not climbing (losing energy) and not descending too much. I'm no ace by any chalk, but I know these two tweaks are life savers, after this advice,I'll bow to the combat master's advice, and let them take their Master class to a level beyond mine.
  16. +1 Yes,well done Joey,top man
  17. Excellent, look forward to trying these out...........your spoiling us Thor, great work buddy.
  18. @ Thor.......Just wanted to say a big thanks for all your hard work on this mate,I really appreciate the help you've given us all,my B-17 formations are looking great, thanks to you.
  19. I concur,my set up which utilises a GTX 1070 8GB card is also working well.not had any stutters at all,and yes Normandy is running beautifully on it. To know that Normandy is still in Alpha too, being that there's more optimization to come is very heartening,so the outlook is great for us PC Pilots, well done Ed your doing us all proud.......thank you.
  20. Thank you Gents,much appreciated.
  21. Please help.......Where does one find the WWII Assets pack personal registration number so I can register it's installation please.
  22. No,this doesn't work for me,and I have used the updater in the past, mind you the original command window has now gone and I now have a utility called 'open Powershell window here' presumably the same thing but it doesn't work, not on my rig anyway. Off to bed now, have waited around too long downloading to 2.1 to wait around trying to get the Normandy map and WW2 assets pack to show up in the module manager. I can't say I'm over impressed with the situation, will see if anything has changed tomorrow.
  23. @ Justificus......Where else would one complain/mention to ED about modules such as maps not being available to download then,if you don't do it in the forum ?......I'm curious.
  24. This is crazy, having to jump through hoops to get this map to work at this stage, jeez. If you've purchased the map/WW2 assets pack this should be a slick download,we shouldn't have to download third party software to get it,come on ED what's going on?
  25. Out of interest, what time is the update including the release of Normandy 44 due on Friday, does anyone know,or is it a lottery ?
