  1. I have the Pimax 5K+ and am not impressed. The resolution is not very clear. I am definitely getting a Reverb. Lack of clarity is by far my #1 gripe with VR.
  2. Valve Index has less than half the resolution of the Reverb. The Reverb it is for me.
  3. Ugg only 1440 x 1600 panels. Less than half the resolution of the HP Reverb. Passing on the Index.
  4. I am really glad the Index is using the best tracking method (lighthouses). Now if the Index is using the 2160x2160 panels it is an instant buy. If it's using low resolution junk panels like the Rift S, they can pound sand.
  5. I have both overclocked under water. The RTX Titan is 10% faster average across titles.
  6. So now going backwards with refresh rate is a positive? LOL! Palmer Lucky said in testing 90 Hz was the minimum for a good VR experience. The Rift S is a joke.
  7. No longer interested in StarVR, even if it did launch. Resolution is too low.
  8. Ya the Acer is now the front runner. But it still only has two cameras. Since the Valve Index is only shown as having DP 1.2 (which forces low resolution), it seems the only thing that could trump the Acer may be the Vive Cosmos.
  9. I'll buy whatever HMD has those 2160x2160 panels and physical IPD adjustment. Hopefully the Cosmos has these displays (I'm leaning towards they do since Vive is advertising the RGB pixels), so I can keep the best tracking/controllers.
  10. Yes, Oculus is no longer for VR enthusiasts but for the low-cost masses. The S basically isn't any better than the CV1 launched three years ago.
  11. I wonder how many of these new headsets are all using this new 2160x2160 LCD panel. IMO no coincidence all these new headsets are coming out within 2 months of one another.
  12. 2nd gen to me means clarity and lack of SDE. That's it. Current headsets are all terrible in those two respects.
  13. It's funny, when I put on my Pimax 5K+, I was quite disappointed. I thought to myself, "this is what all the fuss was about?" Granted the higher FOV is better, but isn't exactly Earth shattering. I think it also had to do with the 5K+ isn't as nearly sharp/clear as I was hoping for. And there are a ton of god-rays. It really doesn't look any better than a Vive Pro etc. I think the Reverb with that high of resolution with RGB stripe is going to blow other headsets out of the water. Especially since you get can Vive controllers working with WMR now.
  14. lol at people that think "blurring" make an image look better. Why don't they smear petroleum jelly on a high resolution display to make it look better? All that matters is high resolution and that it's RGB stripe instead of garbage fake pentile-type pixels. Low resolution, blurring, god-rays, pentile are all the enemies of a convincing VR world.
  15. HP Reverb easily. It will have ~twice the clarity of the next best headset. I don't have high hopes for the Index. The specs page listed DP 1.2, which if true means the headset is low resolution.
  16. I used to be a hard-core dedicated study sim guy and wanted to always do cold-starts. But after having started up thousands of times in the real thing (military helicopter pilot), it gets a bit old (it's the same thing over and over again)! Plus my attention span in my old age (39) is getting the best of me.
  17. Ok thanks!
  18. I must be blind, where do I download F-14 that I bought on the DCS store? The game doesn't show up on the module manager inside the game.
  19. I purchased the Persian Gulf, downloaded and the slider in game shows that I have the Persian gulf map "on". But I can not select that region to fly any aircraft. Only caucuses and Nevada show up. My DCS is 2.5.3.24984. This map still isn't only playable after all this time with Beta DCS is it?
  20. Actually, quite a few these days. Battlefield 5 uses 12 of my 14 cores and Star Citizen uses all 14!
  21. Mine already says all cores are active for dcs.exe. The game is only using 11% of my CPU!
  22. I have a 14 core Intel CPU clocked at 5 GHz. Turning items on like mirrors and visibility range over low/medium really tanks the FPS. But my CPU us barely being used as is my 2080 Ti. Is the main game engine still only single thread? Such a shame for going on 2019.
  23. So already September, I wonder if this project is stalled?
  24. That upgraded looks great. I wish they made a left hand version, as I'd like to get two upgraded CM for a HOSAS setup for Star Citizen.
  25. Good to know, thanks! I heard Realsimulator updated the FSSB firmware and everything on the T-50 grip works?
