  1. I'm pretty sure that would be 'no'. If there's only one target, and it's called out, you can pretty much say goodbye to that one. However, if there are a number of targets, they will call them out when attacking. The bullseye calls will all be similar, so you should be able to point the tgp in the direction without too much fuss. Just keep something to write on handy and write them down as you hear them. I hear Hawg pilots IRL use a grease pencil on the canopy for just such occasions.
  2. HA! First time I did that, I was pulling away from a manpad. I had just strafed something or other and got the missile launch (custom mission, with target and a couple manpads). I pulled away and my plane disintergrated. I watched the playback and was surprised to find that nothing hit me but I still came apart. Posted up here and asked what the hell happened. Someone was kind enough to let me know that hard pulls like that will rip the wings right off.
  3. Wizard is the AWACs, and it reported 'clean' (no enemy aircraft) UZI is an Allied Flight, and that flight is reporting the ground targets. To get ground targets called out, you will need allied flights (other CAS flights). Toss a couple of those out there, or even a wingman for your own flight, and you will get ground target calls in the bullseye format.
  4. OVER TARGET? AWACS won't tell you about targets on ground, only airborne. I would not put an enemy aircraft near your AWACS w/o ESCORT or that AWACS will turn into a big fireball.
  5. I remapped my trackir keys as CENTER top row 5, smoothing top row 6, and off/on mouse scroll click
  6. I've been there many times :) Good place to fly. And yes, after the 2nd time I was shot down <10miles from my takeoff location (first time I had no clue, just a missile alert then bang; 2nd time he flew past my 'chute and that's how I knew someone was stalking our base), I flew directly away from my waypoint, climbed 13K feet, then turned towards my wp1. Didn't get shot down that time. :)
  7. I wish others (not me) would feel like that when I'm flying my Hawg and there are about 5 fast movers on the other side. I HATE being shot down just after I turned for my first wp after takeoff, level wings to start climbing then BOOM.
  8. Any unit with a weapon can perform jtac, and should have any mark available (wp/ir/laser). Not sure about the types. LOS works so long as one vehicle can 'see' the other, with no ground or building in-between. Trees are see-through to AI.
  9. Are you using the correct radio and frequency when calling?
  10. Stay about 15nm from target area. Search REALLY well with tgp until you find one closest to you (really. fired on one that I thought was closest. overflew another I missed and got shot down). Fly straight at it, try to get a Mav lock as quickly as possible, fire and turn as quickly as possible, activating ECM/chaff/flares as needed. If you're lucky, they won't fire. Sometime they'll fire but after turning away, you lose the missle. Sometimes, you just go down.
  11. JTAC seems to have gotten quite wonky lately. I frequently get 'no mark' after getting it to work. Had a mission with an oh-58 that could not mark a tank, kept marking off to the side, then I'd get abort, abort, abort and no mark. Switched to a Stryker and it at least marked correctly, but then after telling jtac "IN" i'd get abort and no mark. JTAC marking is VERY hit and miss, lately.
  12. Is the star field a new thing? I thought I looked closely at it previously and never noticed actual constellations. Only recently did I notice Orion and the Big Dipper as well.
  13. I set up a trigger via USB. Everytime I pull the trigger for the GAU-8, it sens a small pulse to a small brass bowl here on my desktop. Put a small amount of gunpowder in it. Gets the room smelling REAL Nice :)
  14. The Interstate Highway system in the US WAS built for military purposes. It was designed to facilitate troop movements in the event of an attack/invasion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_Highway_System As for implementing in DCS, I'd think all you'd need to do is implement a code change that ANY aircraft parked near a FARP can be refueled/rearmed/repaired. Maybe extend the FARP influence area a bit so you can place it next to a road and it will work that way. Landing isn't too hard, but taking off my be a pain, as most roads aren't wide enough to turn around on and you'd like get stuck as soon as you get off-road. Might need a road long enough to land AND take-off from
  15. It's not the game, as I and many other do not have this issue. It's the specific way your files were loaded onto your computer duing install. If you read ANY of the previous posts, you might have seen one that says to re-install the a10c MODULE then use the REPAIR in DCS: World. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1567983&postcount=5
  16. Hmmm...I have several dozen games bought on steam. I think it's one of the best, if not THE best, purchase option.
  17. I was thinking specifically aircraft/helis. Where the heli/plane would 'hold' at a wp, then move to next once a flag is triggered. I know planes will orbit, but I've seen helis just stop, hover and wait (Hideout mission as example, or carbon blade where heli stops and hovers until AAA is destroyed then continues on to next wp).
  18. Nope. but you can look at smokestacks.
  19. The red triangle is just a marker sent to you over the SADL network. All that is saying is "look here for your target". You can follow the same procedure anywhere you like on the TAD whether there is a symbol there or not.
  20. See if this helps any. If you're not, try to always drop in pairs but as stated, dumb bombs arent the most accurate.
  21. apart from using an optimized profile, you might need to move your sensor, if possible. The closer you are to it, the less it can see.
  22. Next, try the same misson with dense fog :) My first (and so far only) landing with IFR/ILS
  23. Waypoint hold missing? Under advanced wp options, there is no longer a 'hold' option. What happened to it? NM; think I have it confused with orbit/hold w/stop flag.
  24. Thanks! I think there might be a bug with the AFAC that I know was working in previous versions. Need to play with it a bit more to be certain.
  25. Less than stellar performance on my part, but I kept having issues with JTAC calling 'no mark' after calling mark. Worked out in the end. Night ramp start. Short flight. Humvee JTAC marking 3 T55s with IR. night ramp jtac.trk
