AFAC / FAC target reassign after unable to comply?
Evil.Bonsai replied to NBEagle's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I've 'checked out' and checked back in with jtac, and it worked that way. Basically, tell them you're going home, then re-contact them. -
nvidia vs radeon which is best for dcs
Evil.Bonsai replied to Pipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I use a radeon HD5770 w/22" monitor at 1680x1050. Works great. -
pretty sure when you're plane is being repaired, it does the same thing.

Looked at your mission and it acted a bit odd. First attempt, jtac responds with type 2, marked by IR, but before I could get to IP Inbound, was messaged No Mark. checked out and re-checked in and got a type 3, no mark, a few more times. Tried moving your Predator to 10000, but no help there. For what it's worth, my predator was at 6000 ft. I didn't try moving yours any closer. Sometimes mission files just get wonky. Try deleting and re-creating, and maybe moving the predator lower. Probably shouldn't have to, but hey, give it a try.

Setup your mission how you want it. Click on "mission briefing" (left column, fourth icon down), then change start time to 00:00 or whatever. save and fly.

Are you issuing commands on the right radio and frequency? With regards to the wingman not 'working', it's not the game, it's the mission. It's done that to me as well in that mission, where wingman ignores commands to attack. However, if you create a short mission with just you and a wingman, and a couple targets, the wingman attacks as commanded. if you really want to play those missions, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to fix them yourselves. Might be as easy as opening and saving them in the mission editor. Or might need to verify triggers and such. EDIT: ok, just tried a couple things. I did open and save the first quick mission (easy - spring) in MY MISSIONS folder (you can't overwrite the default mission). Playing, I get the same no response WHEN: at the bridge, I tell wingman to attack air defenses at my spi, using missiles from DEFAULT direction. This gets my wingman pointing at the target but no missile launch, and then rejoin. I try again, this time telling wingman same thing but from WEST (we were west at the time) direction. This time he launches. So, it might just be using the DEFAULT direction of attack results in no attack. Try flying the mission but specify a direction of attack, and see if that makes a difference for you.

You cannot perform jtac for AI. it's really only usable for multiplayer.

Is there any way to go on after touching the grass?
Evil.Bonsai replied to robert123456's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Per the report, faulty environmental controls led to a fogged canopy. Pilot couldn't see outside. Cool video. -
Transferring Program Files From One Computer To Another
Evil.Bonsai replied to cvsusn's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
When you initially downloaded and installed, did you delete those install files? would be a simple matter to copy those files over to the new machine and then install. -

Getting an AI unit to scout/report and give coordinates?
Evil.Bonsai replied to hachiman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Likely only through using triggers/zones, and even then, you'd either have to use a text descriptor with previously setup coordinates, or custom sound file with same. -
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58793 download the 9-line card.He has brief explanations for each line. Basically, the target will be 7nm on a heading of 289 from IP ADDER.

Well, my results were inconclusive, at best. Made 3 runs with Mk-82s and missed tgt each time. Used feet/knots, as mentioned above. First run w/o laste data went over tgt but not by much. With laste data, landed just short, by about same distance as w/o data. 2nd run with laste data from another direction with same results. A previous attempt I used meters and m/s as in mission briefing, with pretty much same results as here, except my single run w/o laste data was off by a bit more than the included track. laste ft knts.trk

How to detect and counter an incoming IR SAM?
Evil.Bonsai replied to Hoggorm's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I believe that's the latest. and yes, everything you'd need is in the package. Except a hat; you'll need a cap of some sort (typical baseball-type) Believe me, trackir is AWESOME. I cannot imagine ever having to fly without it again. -
How to detect and counter an incoming IR SAM?
Evil.Bonsai replied to Hoggorm's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You don't know, and should pretty much make immediate evasive action and start dropping flares until you KNOW you're not being shot at OR have completely evaded the missile. IR missiles being what they are, they're fairly short range. If you do the above, are not falling out of the sky in pieces and are not hearing MORE MWS alerts (in which case, start all over again with the evading/flares) within 10-15 seconds, you're PROBABLY going to be ok. Maybe. -
Thanks to Dynamo for this excellent tutorial and to Freefall for pointing it out.

I never have; been looking at it lately, though. Don't know how to use it just yet, but working on it. Usually, I just look at smokestacks to see which way the wind is blowing, and how hard, then just offset my targeting a bit when using tgp. Kentucky windage, I believe it's called :joystick:

Haven't seen a post about this, but the MGRS coordinates in the mission editor are cut off. Is there a way to fix this? NM; found it mentioned in dcs world bugs/mission editor forum.
-
Still useful, to me. Just entered an armor tally at bulls 55 for 7, entered into cdu, aimed tgp at new markpoint, bingo, armor right where it was called out.

I don't know what anyone else is seeing, but everytime I've gotten a qfe, and adjusted the altimeter to match, it's always been a hair above 0, pretty much what you'd want it to be to know how high off the runway you were. I honestly don't know what qfe or qnh actually are, but in-sim, it's just something I use to tell me how high above the ground I am. Which is kinda important.

It's pointing at SPI.. If SPI is visible in HUD area, the SPI has a tail pointing at the TVV. If the SPI is outside the HUD, theTVV has a tail pointing at the SPI. Er, nm. Misread the 'arrow symbology'. Thought he meant pointer. I'll admit to not having seen the 'arrow' symbology'. Is this a a case of REALLY side-slipping in flight? I've had the TVV off-center, but never so far I couldn't see it.
