  1. But it would still be good to know how the current DRM works to be able to evaluate if the new one really is better before spending my hard earned money. But as it seems that Starforce does not take away my ability to play offline when it can´t phone home I think I have already formed an opinion what is better...
  2. To be honest I hope so too...
  3. Jet trainer and light ground attack aircraft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soko_G-4_Super_Galeb Would not be for me. edit: Oh, and in that Wikipedia entry it says Super Galeb means Super Seagull. Super bird... edit 2: "During the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, seven G-4s of the Leteće zvezde aerobatics team were destroyed at Golubovci Air Base.[3]" That could explain the TGP-like picture we got as a hint.
  4. The jugoslawian (or just jugoslaw ?) Air Force display team "Leteće zvezde" used a bird called Soko G-4 Super Galeb. Hasn´t that bird been suggested before in this thread ?
  5. Aha ! So we should look what aircraft flown by various display teams fit the other hints.
  6. Hint 4 is in Dolphin´s profile: https://forums.eagle.ru/member.php?u=47878 Note that the filename ends with ".gif.jpg." I have no idea about that stuff, but could it be that it´s a gif and we can get it "moving" somehow ? Is that some electronics stuff, a plan for wiring something similar ?
  7. Hmm, but I just noticed that that logo usually isn´t green. Maybe that´s the hint and not the background ? I remember somewhere in the back of my head that when M3 and Heatblur where still together in the early teasing of the Tomcat there also was a corsair in the background or something like that that had nothing to do with the teasing. Maybe someone can tell if it´s an "Army green" or more of a "USMC green" or whatever. HH53 Super Jolly Green Giant?
  8. When you add the points on a dice (box, cube) it´s 21 ! They´re doing a Mig 21 !
  9. Maybe not box but crate: IL-14 Crate-C Elint version http://www.airliners.net/photo/Czechoslovakia-Air-Force/Ilyushin-Avia-Av-14T/1693338?qsp=eJwljUEKwjAQRe/y192UgGB26gF04QWGZGiL1QmTAS2ld%2B807h7vw/srknyMf/ZcCiOiMmka0aGQ0rsirnjx8hXNzgh9CMc2ismNjAfRBfHcoYra1RHZ7SUlLsYZf3/XzHpMXFMLD37UO7A%2BGiOc3Oeplplag42mGdu2A0KnM7A%3D Or one of the recon versions, would fit the weird black and white picture ;-) Just kidding, I don´t expect that, but it would be a surprise, as they said.
  10. Well, a transport aircraft would certainly be a surprise, wouldn´t it ? :smilewink:
  11. Maybe for the other 59,876+ forum members there´s no option to click in that vote, like for example "Never for offline play". :smilewink:
  12. Westland Wessex or H-34 Choctaw confirmed !
  13. Maybe on occasions when there are lots of postings incoming on a certain matter that are deemed necessary to delete
  14. Now how did you do that ? Did you edit the screenshot or is there a way to give hand signals ?
  15. On, I think, the upper right, click the button for "gun" until it says "sa". Took me a while too... But I have to correct myself from my post above, selecting sa through EWR or STRS I still have to usually deactivate and reactivate them to get the next lock. Worked one or two times only.
  16. Great, thanks !
  17. Yes, and that could be a solution that suits all. ED get´s their weekly "phonecall", and anybody who can´t go online for whatever reason can still enjoy the last version they had offline. This variant would also protect us customers from not being able to play anymore if ED goes out of business. Then we still have the last version to play SP. The bad pirates would get no updates and no new modules.
  18. Stupid question in between for those in the know about the Harrier: As the aircraft "knows" how much fuel it has left and what weapons are still aboard, can we look up the actual weight of our ride on some MPCD-subpage (now or still to be implemented) , so that when coming home from a mission a mathematically challenged person like me can quickly check if it´s worth to try a vertical landing ?
  19. Thank you! edit: Works like a charm ! Selecting Sidearm STRS or RWR page also gets rid of the problem of having to deactivate them after firing one to get another one of.
  20. Hey all, I´m playing around with the Sidearms, and so far two questions/problems arose: First, I´m under the impression that when having the Jammer pod active it´s a bit harder to get a lock with the sidearm. Is it possible that the jammer disturbs the sidearms seeker so it´s harder to get a lock or is it just coincidence ? Second, I just wanted to put my TV screen to use and lock it on the ground near a SA-15 to better see when it would launch at me when approaching it with the sidearm active. But when I got a sidearm lock and pulled the trigger instead of the sidearm my gun fired. I rechecked everything but couldn´t for the life of me get the sidearm to fire, TV on or not, activated and deactivated gun, and so on. Bug or feature ?
  21. Okay, disregard and have a laugh at me, I just noticed that the upper position is "Dump" and the lower position is "Norm". I was thinking that "Dump" is the designation for the switches and, as "Norm" is the upper of two words, I had to switch it up to be on "Norm". Ah well, now we have the evidence that I´m indeed a stupid idiot, especially for making this great discovery a few seconds AFTER posting the above. Now, please, be my guest and laugh at me for the rest of the day
  22. Because, as far as I could find noone else mentioned it I guess that it´s something I am/was doing wrong, but I´ll leave that here nonetheless: So, the first few times I was starting up my brand-spanking-new Harrier using the checklist in the pocket guide. This mentions, on page 15, Normal Procedures and Checklists, Engine Start, After entering Cockpit, point 11: "Left and Right wing fuel dump switches NORM". That´s what I did, and it never mentions to put the switches back. So, for the first few hours I was thinking, "Damn, this thing is thirsty, barely half an hour endurance even with external tanks", because, well, with the fuel dump switches to norm it seems it, ummh, dumps fuel. I noticed later during startup on the engine page that the fuel quantity kept decreasing although the engine was not started. Now I don´t touch the fuel dump switches and I can fly a bit longer :music_whistling::lol: I have no idea if the checklist is wrong, or the switches work the wrong way or if maybe I´m a stupid idiot. Most probably the latter, as noone else mentioned something about this. :lookaround:
  23. Indeed, why is not relevant, there can be numerous reasons. How about not being able to pay for internet anymore because of losing the job or whatever reason. You can´t even sell the modules you can´t play anymore then as you could with a game on a CD. Or what about if ED goes out of business one day for whatever reason ? I´d sure like to play at least the last version I had in SP then. And really guys, you can´t just change the rules after we bought the module. That´s what upsets me even more then the change itself (which I don´t like at all).
  24. I´m completely with Johnny Rico on this, both the new system as it is now as well as the communication about it, the information should´ve been there latest at the start of the Harriers pre-sale, not after we bought it. Yes, it´s WIP, I know, that´s why I´m posting my opinion that I don´t like it this way ;-)
