Ok, I´m really sorry to disturb this serious thread, but I just had to make a quick picture to show you what was going through my head for an instant when reading "F-16 floating pods" and thinking "WTF..!!?!??!" :  Sorry again, I´m leaving already :pilotfly:

For anyone else whose polish language skills are as bad as mine ( nonexistent lol ) I ran that through Google translate. Well, that wasn´t that helpful, but here is what I found out for you guys to save time. But maybe YoYo can clear things up a bit ;) Someone asked if the next would be an F-4, to which Cobra answered "You are missing a digit" (translated by Google from polish to german and then by me to english...) Then it´s about some technical stuff and difficulties in doing the F-14, to which Cobra answered something like "We will care about those details". Asked if this is an official confirmation of the Tomcat the Puppetmaster answered "Maybe"...

Maybe it´s a Mig 28

I´m not very sure, but funny enough I watched Top Gun this evening on german TV, and Jester has a blue helmet with gold stars, although it seems a bit different... Yes, he knows how to play his puppets, lol

I like what I read ! And hey, he changed his avatar again, quick, someone do that photo-search trick ! :D edit: sniped by bart ;-)

7) : Just an idea, haven´t tested it, but when you just don´t turn it on in the cockpit maybe it doesn´t write anything on the hard drive ?
-
Would be just as fine with me. And we would get it faster as there wouldn´t be need to model the finger and the polaroid
-
Thank you for that, sir ! :)
-
Well, this would be a no-go for me. I need clicky-switches.
-
Aaahh, that will be great ! But, very important : If we get the Tomcat we definately neeeeeeeeeed the ability to show others the finger by pressing a key and a polaroid cam for the backseater with a screenshot function !!

I´m pretty sure that there´s already been lots of praise about the Belsimtek Mi-8 campaign on the forums and I´m in a little late having completed it yesterday , but anyways, here is what I have to say about it: So, I was on sick leave for some time now not beiing able to do anything outdoors and the DCS flash sale came just in time, so I got myself BS2, CA and the Mi-8. I have to admit that I´ve never been that interested in most of eastern hardware, and so I´ve been a little "meh" about the Hip as well. So, I played through the training missions, still beeing somewhat "meh" about it and also having to fight the fact that everything in this chopper is "the other way around" from the Huey, my all time favorite chopper, like right instead of left pedal on takeoff etc... :joystick: But well, beeing bored as hell I decided to take a look at the campaign. Oh boy, am I glad that I did this ! The Huey campaign was already good, but this one is just great ! Just about everything about it ! The choice of the AO is great, beautiful area to fly that chopper in, and through the missions I really got to know it, finding my way around later on in the campaign mostly without having to look at the map and marking my position on the kneeboard. Very very immersive, the voice overs are great, super story, every mission is "winnable", no "you against the rest of the world in WWIII" scenario. The campaign taught me to fly that ugly fat chick from hell :smilewink: in joyride-missions, in emergency conditions and in combat, and taught me as I said to find my way around in "my" area of operations, and it made me actually like that bird ! Almost no bugs, only in two missions, where you have to kill those two guys on the roof by landing on them as the AI won´t attack, and in the artillery observer mission that seems to be broken in the current version, at least for me. Besides that the only gripe I have is that in missions where you´re not flight leader but have to follow the boss the AI is often so fast that it´s almost impossible to keep up, esp. in the mountains when having to climb. And that it was over too soon... So, in short: Thank you very much Belsimtek for this absolutely stunning campaign ! I really hope there will be a second installment of this some day, maybe as a "goody" when the Hip goes out of Beta ? :music_whistling: You guys should seriously consider maybe making additional campaigns and selling them. At least I would pay some bucks for campaigns of this quality, it would create income for you and more missions for the players than we would get waiting for "free" ones. And I´m so looking forward to be able to fly this campaign again with my best buddy in the cockpit cooperatively when multicrew is here. There sure is enough work for two in this chopper. Thanks, greetings, Wolf

It's a conspiracy, they secretly released DCS 2.0 and so nobody is playing 1.2.10 anymore except us poor guys in this thread, lol ;-)
-
Hmm, I don´t know much about computers and internet etc. anymore, somehow lost track of it in the process of growing older, lol, but "my internet" except this DCS-issue seems to work as always, not slower or anything. Also, on the servers I get, like for example "STP Interceptor" i see the same ping as that server always has for me, somewhere in the thirties. Is there only one "Master Server" as the name implies, or are there maybe regional DCS master servers ?
-
I´ve just checked (I´m roughly 40 klicks S of Boris :smilewink: ) and I only have 21 Servers while I usually have 80-90. I´m on 1.2.10 Upd. 3. What I also noticed is that until a few days ago the server list was filling fluidly in a matter of seconds, now it´s alwas 10-15 servers, a few seconds pause, then another few and so on...

I´m having problems with that mission right now, as the arty, after acknowledging the coordinates (the first set) never begins to fire. Interesting is, that after giving the coords to granat, I still have an "F10"-menu and could give one other set of coords to the arty. Those are the coordinates of the outpost and if I give the order the idiots fire there just fine... The last try I did I wacked the bad guys on the head with my chopper like you have to do in that other mission that doesn´t work right (airbone command or so), then the message came that the arty was right on the spot. Unfortunately I broke my hip (haha...) in the maneuver or was too badly damaged from the AK-fire, so I couldn´t go on with the mission. A pity, as now I´m stuck in this great campaign. Probably some update broke something in the mission ? edit: I just flew it again, and here´s my workaround for anybody else that might be stuck here: I just went into mission planer before takeoff, gave myself a full load of rockets and blew the bad guys to hell myself when ""Granat" again failed to fire. The mission continued as intended afterwards, except that that F10-menu item with the coordinates to shell the friendly outpost was there until the end of the mission

Looking forward to this a lot ! Had the great luck to get a ride once in an unarmed observation bird from the Heer when I was in service with the Luftwaffe long ago , and two times in a civilian EMS Bo-105, all rides front left seat. Oh what a great fun that was !
-
Hmm, got the Mi-8 in the October sale and for me autostart works just fine.
-
@ricnunes, when I flew it again i lowered fuel to 45% I think and I still had plenty left when coming home.
-
If it really starts midnight Moscow time that would be great, as the girlfriend is watching "The Voice (of Germany)", that´s nothing for me... :helpsmilie::music_whistling:

Danke, never stumbled across that. Now if only that confirmation code would come...:noexpression: edit: got it , somebody was probably standing on the wire for a few minutes there.
-
Nice ! Btw, where does one sign up for the newsletter, I did never ever get one ?
-
Thanks for fixing ! @ Sculleader: Target is not required for this to work, I also never used it.

Hi, I just flew both of them, thanks very much for making the missions ! There are much too few . Just a few quick thoughts: I really liked the early morning setting in the first one, as DCS CAN look great. Many missions are always in standard setting... As Dark Angel (Is that a reference to "Stolen Thunder" ? Good Book, just re-read it these days. ) already mentioned, the Chinooks in POW2 are a tad fast, after setting up my radio and looking through the cockpit it was hard to catch up, and on the way home the one surviving was cruising at 133 knots, couldn´t keep up ;-) And maybe a bit less fuel for the huey in POW2 almost couldn´t get it up in the air as I always try to fly as if EGT was properly implemented. Maybe, as a suggestion, choose an area where the terrain is not so completely flat so it´s a bit more interesting to fly. On the other hand, racing along that road low level between the two forests to catch those vehicles was pretty cool ;-) I also liked that it was doable, that you didn´t have to win WW3 all by yourself... All in all I liked it a lot, keep it up ! Rep inbound ! Thanks, Wolf

Hi, I have the same problem as JorgeIII, using 1.2.10 Update 3 and the latest version of your file. Can´t bind "TDC +" and "TDC-" in the lines where O and L are bound on the keyboard, when using the duplicate entries above and below I can bind it in the menu to joystick buttons (Warthog) but it has no effect in the game. Greets, Wolf
