Why on earth can I not get my Harrier engine to start from cold anymore?? I’ve started it plenty of times in the past using the same procedures, I hear the generator sound and then all goes quiet. Nothing, nada, nowt, bugger all. I can’t see how I’m doing anything different but clearly am somewhere. I had to go for a rest before and massage my temples as it was doing my head in that much. Lol

I'm the same. I put skins in Liveries folders as suggest by both gents at the same time and still nothing shows other than the stock liveries! I have aircraft and ships in the mods folder that works fine though!! Any other ideas? Thanks Edit - fixed - user error - folder format was incorrect

Done, cheers mate. Spent the night tearing my hair out trying to sort this. Worked straight away. Don't need a temp shortcut either to the Appdata folder. So for those who are trying to find it (do a search in My Computer for Simshaker - there will be many files in this Appdata folder - just click on the one with the SSA icon.

Hi all. I’ve been messing around with Haweye60’s teams excellent German bomber mods and am noticing some very erratic ai behaviour. Like setting 6000ft for 88’s and when approaching they go vertical for a few k’s then dive the same to sea level. I’ve checked also with 111’s and is the same with all skill levels. Is there a workaround that anyone knows of to stop this happening? Cheers chaps.

Yeah, I noticed this today after a reinstall. Hopefully it’ll be sorted soon.

Hi, hope I can get some help. I've copied the folders from the download into the mods folder in DCS but I now have all those 'normal' folders alongside the 'zip' folders of the same name. Is this how it should be? Cheers

I don’t really find it a problem anymore. I have done AAR probably a couple of hundred times now in various aircraft. There have been lots of excellent tips. Mine are 1. know where your probe is - if you use vr then its out of view when facing forward. The probe is about head height and about 1m left of the canopy. So if you can visualise its position then it’s much easier to ‘put the thing in the thing’. Once you’re plugged in don’t look at it or you’ll be off course in no time. 2. Keep the engine shroud and refuelling pod of the tanker just below the canopy bar (whatever it's called) and that should keep you in about the correct position. 3. Relax and enjoy the show. 4. Make missions with less and less fuel so you’re having to stay on the tanker for longer. Hope that helps

And just as I was staring at that first pic I was about to write “Given the quality of graphics in DCS these days, I don’t even know if that’s real or not!” Only when I looked closer at the waves did I really see. Lol

Don’t apologise for something you believe in. You’ve done nothing wrong. Or for venting off steam. They simply built the aircraft as an engine test model IIRC to use in future aircraft whether or not they are warbirds etc. So if the engine model comes with a CE2 attached, who cares? The fact is a lot of other folk will like it and because it will speed up dev time for future aircraft because it was a test machine. And it’s another way to bring in revenue. I don’t see why it should be an issue. The way I see it is if DCS is better than all it’s competitors because if it’s ability to produce much better quality flight models and dynamics etc then why shouldn’t it sway people his way - combat or not? Not something I’ll buy myself I don’t think either by the way.

I'm buying the Virpil T-50 base tonight and therefore I don’t need my Warthog gimbal anymore. It comes with a Virpil desk mount base (not the desk mount itself). It’s about 4 years old and is in excellent condition. Never been opened up so it’s never been regreased. Never had any problems with it either. £55 inc postage to UK only Postage elsewhere will be at cost Cheers

Hey all, I’m thinking about buying the T-50 base but need the base plate for their table mount that I already use with the TM Warthog but it doesn’t appear to be on their website or Amazon. Any ideas? Ta

Just flew a mission in late March 1830h and it looks absolutely stunning. The colours are dark and when parts of the towns are partially lit and parts in shadow by the clouds it just looks superb. I am however noticing an issue in vr (cv1) every now again I get some flickering of light/dark colouring of terrain area and not the sky) that I’ve not noticed for ages (seems to be around the headset centrally positioned area) and noticeable more where there are shadows. I don’t think this a mod issue though as I’d seen it before, has anyone else had this flickering effect and know how to fix it?

Can't get it to work. It shows up in mod manager as 'Installed' but when I click on a user made mission from mission from the ED website that uses the mod, I keep getting a notification that I need to install it!! Any ideas chaps? Cheers

I wouldn't bother buying anything that is very in depth if you're only going to play it for a couple of weeks. Why not just fly the 2 free modules that come with DCS and save your money? If you're desperate - go for the flaming cliffs aircaft - I think you can get one of those for about $10
