Lots of people have had bad experiences with the slew. Me included. Not a lot you can do I’m afraid. After the things you’ve tried I’d say the slew is bricked. Mine started when I blew the throttle mobo. When I replaced that the slew didn’t work again, tried 2 new slew switches, and a right throttle pcb without luck. I ended up selling it on eBay for £100 as spares and buying a used one on eBay for the same price!! I did have a good experience with TM though. Good luck with whatever you decide.

As above since updating my 1.5.8OB to 2.5OB and 1.5.8 release I get an error message Cannot open file, recording is not possible C:/................ Never had this problem before. I've tried a repair with no luck Any ideas chaps? Cheers

Tbh I know nothing about development and what it takes to add or remove features but unless I’m misunderstanding your comment, i can’t see how adding a drop down settings menu for each map or some such thing would be more an exhaustive process than the full optimisation of all the maps together. Also from what I’ve been reading it’s not even just the maps but also the modules that go with them, I presume because of the vast array of computer system builds different people are getting different results when adjusting the same parameters. I can only imagine the troubles ED and 3rd parties were having adjusting modules to suit the different maps on three different builds with three different technologies, I guess now it’s only the troubles of optimising modules to suit the three different maps and tech.

Because each of the maps are optimised differently and have different tech in each, I’m having to change the settings for each map whenever I want to fly. I wish there was some kind of multiple save settings feature where I could save a particular setting to a particular map. Think I’ll add this to the wish list thread too. I’m sure sometime in the future all maps will have the same tech and optimisations so at that point it shouldn’t be an issue.

I'm looking to buy the desk mount, warthog plate and extensions from Virpil or a similar one from Monstertech. They look good enough quality, so I'm just asking to make sure - whats are the positives and negatives. Cheers

I’ve got a 22gb download. Started last night at 11pm - it’s now 21 hours later and shot 200mb to go. It’s been terrible, sometimes it stops dead, mostly it’s 20kb/n it’ll jump to 300kb a sec. worst thing is I can’t do anything else on the internet with any device over WiFi or cable while it’s downloading!!

Mod please put this in the right section, I don't know where it goes! So I have 6M/s speed according to Sky which gives me max 0.6Mb/s downloading speed. But I’ve spent all last night and all through the day and it’s still not finished! Half the time it’s download8ng at 49kb/s!!!!!!! And I can’t even browse the internet while it’s on. Does anyone know what is wrong here, my connection seems fine. Thanks in advance

Me too. It might be good, it might be crap. But hey when it’s on sale or it’s cheap enough to buy off the bat, I’ll prob have have. I just hope that all the current 3rd parties don’t make this genre a priority over military aircraft that they’re so well known for. I hope with these new projects DCS actually bring in more 3rd parties that maybe are more inclined towards those kind of projects as well as mil. It’ll make DCS a fuller, well rounded and more exceptional sim for more people to enjoy. ED just needs to sort out that ATC! Amongst other things. Lol

Got its own cockpit, and uses a modified Huey FM to take weight into consideration. Not flown it for several months, it’s a great mod. Hope it works with 2.5 as I’ll start throwing it around the new Caucasus map

Right so just to recap, I only have 1.5.8 RC and 2.2 OA on the same ssd, I was planning on installing 2.5 RC on the same drive. With this set up, if I only want 2.5 RC I will only be able to download 2.5 in a couple of weeks after this test thing they’re doing is finalised? And I can’t download the 2.5 OB because I don’t have 1.5.8 OB (anymore!)? Unless I reinstall it. Or is it that I can run the 2.5 OB installer and it will make my 1.5.8 RC into the 2.5 OB? This is making my head swim! Lol

Aaarrrggghhhh. I just uninstalled my 1.5.8 OB to make way for 2.5 and for more disk space!! I should have realised the OB would be first to change. Ahh, well, what’s another couple of weeks?

I have a head like a tennis ball so even the Rift looks big on me. Putting this thing on will be like wearing a football pitch!

I know, I know. Each to their own. It’s the resolution and fov that matter to me. Actually it looks smaller in his hands than on his head though!

I probably won’t buy it. Don’t disagree with it at all though, i think it’s excellent to have all types in DCS. I’m sure there will be a mod that puts a machine gun on the top wing anyways so would that then be classified as a Combat aircraft and keep the naysayers happy? What about flying around in my Harrier or Mirage without weapons, just sightseeing? Will that also not be allowed by disgruntled people? Just saying?

You’ll prob get a couple of fps if you knock down that Resolution of cockpit displays to 512 as well. I can’ hardly even tell the difference!

I read on here somewhere by someone that Vulcan API is due by the end of 2018. Don’t think it was official though.

Wow. Looks awesome. Some of those effects!!!! the Mirage taking off at the start. Soooo looking forward to this. And replaying the original campaign in 2.5.

Yeah, happened to me a couple of years ago, I got a power spike in my powered usb hub, which my throttle, g27 wheel, and a couple of other periphals where in. All bricked. Gutted - that was an expensive replacement as they were out of warranty. Mainboard was the culprit in my case but when it was back together my slew didn’t work (luckily I was only flying the Mirage at the time so didn’t need it). In the end I just sold the throttle as it was on eBay for £100 and bought a used one for £130. Happy days - must admit I d9 like my Warty throttle and won’t be getting one of the new Virpil or VKB ones (even if they do look the biz)

Yeah, that’s the one. The roundels and nose and tail number were broken. They’re fixed now for 1.5.8 and 2.2 and you think they’ll be fine again for 2.5? Cheers pal, so looking forward to getting this out in Nevada again
