  1. I never said it was necessary, I just prefer the new slew with the extra resistance. And I use the square one - for no particular reason
  2. I’ve been trying various foams to use to in the hole surrounding the ministick. I feel the stick is too easy to move and has a long throw (I did know this beforehand) and I wanted to give it stiffer feel. I decided on a heavy foam that is actually a cold starage tank insulation that I found at work. It feels fantastic now, still smooth but much more solid, all I needed to do change the axis settings. Well worth a look into.

  4. While we’re on volumes, I’m have a bit of difficulty in the first mission of Red Flag hearing what’s being said over the AC/DC track, I take it there is no way to separate the two volumes? Cheers
  5. I tried one of these magnets but it was getting far too hot for my liking, I tried it through 5v on a Leo Bodnar card. But i couldn’t get it to work efficiently enough. I think Molevitch(?) used some kind of 12v door magnet and said it worked well. For the switch, on the Lynx collective there are 2 buttons (push to break) which I used. In the end I settled on a combination of oil damper and neodymium magnets but I might have another crack at the electro magnets again.
  6. That’ll look weird when you have the pilot body in view! Unless the hands were fixed to the pilots arms like in Echo Arena. That’d be totally awesome.
  7. Has anyone been using Vaicom with BDs new Mirage Red Flag campaign? If so, how are you using it? It’s full of F10 menu commands! Also I was going to use Vaicom to bind TX3 which is unused for Mirage to the space bar for this campaign, but it doesn’t work. Any ideas? Thanks
  8. My Logitech G930 has lasted me about 4 years or so and never had any problems (other than the earmuff coatings peeling away. I think the sound quality is great along with the microphone

  11. Funny enough I made a mission earlier in PG and also couldn’t get it to work. Although it was working earlier today in Caucasus!

  13. Ok, so after the new update yesterday, all my saved changes from the default.lua file have reverted to their original status!!! Is there a way to stop this happenining again. Do I have to save my entire mods folder to Saved Games? That’s another 15Gb!
  14. With the hornet I find throttle movement is less responsive. So you need to predict your power as it can go forward pretty quickly. Once you’re in formation, say 10ft behind the basket, ‘walk’ the throttles very, very gently and once you’re in basket, go through an extra 5-10ft. Remember the tanker gets lighter and you get heavier because of the fuel swap so take this into consideration.and gradually ease the throttle forward.

  16. I certainly was able to use pots for lights/ volumes, buttons for switches and buttons and encoders for analogue axis like radios without issue for my A-10C pit with a Bodnar X board. Have you tried in Control settings or windows game controller to see if they are working? Or are you not looking in the Axis settings in Control Settings maybe (should be the first on the list)?
  17. Yeah, happens to me too. I also get a same black background weirdness when I see the rotating plane thumbnail on the weapons select page in mission editor.
  18. Yah, I watched it this morning. Very interesting. In fact I probably understood more there in 20 mins than reading the manual. Will definitely watch the next ones two. I just hope he starts flying the Harrier next!!

  20. There already are arcade and sim modes!, lots of things can also be checked in Special tabs too. I personally don’t have a problem with it. If some people don’t want the full realism (or as close as can be reproduced) then fine, but some also do want this. Luckily DCS caters for all.
  21. Yeah, unfortunately that’s always been an issue with DCS World. I don’t think there is a solution either, at least yet.

  23. Cheers LeCuvier, I bound the canopy to the 3 position as suggested and it is better. I did try using the code you gave but couldn’t get it to work to opposite way (ie switch down canopy down, switch up canopy up - it would only work switch down canopy up, switch up canopy down) anyways, the arrest or hook works as it should. Can’t get the launch bar working either, but I just bound it to a momentary switch. Thanks for your help with that code though. Much appreciated.
  24. The 4 FC3 level modules coming out are dumbed down versions of full fidelity ones already avalaible. Although I would like to see the Falklands and a matching SHAR ready for alpha or beta!
