For those of us doing aircraft textures, and have a virtual squadron, you can paint all 3 numbers on the jet without the ME interferring. Just go into the Description.lua and set the last 4 to empty (as shown below). I'm probably not the first to find this, but it definitely will make my life easier! {"A-10_Number", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_F", 0 ,"empty",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_T", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true}; {"A-10_Number_Wheel", 0 ,"TactNumbers-USAF-Light_black",true};Change to: {"A-10_Number", 0 ,"empty",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_F", 0 ,"empty",true}; {"A-10_Number_Noze_T", 0 ,"empty",true}; {"A-10_Number_Wheel", 0 ,"empty",true};

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
hog_driver111th replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Headspace, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here... I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, checked my folders, TARS is in the settings in TS3, but it still shows as TARS not running. Seems everyone else can get it going... any ideas? I'm running Win7 64-bit. -
X-Keys Professional as UFC, partial CDU and more
hog_driver111th replied to GregP's topic in Home Cockpits
You can change the UFC keypresses. I currently use my keypad on my keyboard for the numbers, enter as the enter key, period as the function key, plus as the Master Caution, and I set my up and down arrow as the SEL rocker. I also changed my backspace to the clear button. Works fine until I can buy or build a real looking UFC. -
A-10C UFC using Xkeys
hog_driver111th replied to TheBigDog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Where did you get it from? -
Red, looks sweet. Are you going to be sharing your dimensions to the rest of us? If so, much appreciated. I have 2D dims looking at the main panel with the cutouts, but from a side vew... that's a different story.
-
yeah I wouldn't buy real stuff unless it was a great deal. I have no idea how to hook the real stuff up to the PC anyway with the type of plugs they use.
-
Deadman, I'd buy this right now if I had the money and knew how to hook it up to work with the sim... but thought I'd show it to you. Where do you get parts like these? I've tried looking around for anything real, but can't seem to find anything.

Something else that would be awesome, is instead of just the MAV not locking on, is the view from the MAV seeker is fuzzy or "melted" looking to where you can't make out any information. Still have the view there instead of a black screen (or maybe it turns black after a very long time), but when the time comes that it's too super hot, to have the view warped as a visual cue that says "oops, you're an idiot for not turning me off...". hehe
-
You still get the warning, but it would be great if they implemented a MAV failure or something if you didn't turn them off. If they melted, you would have no MAVs (or degraded) until you re-armed.

D, I think you mean the right console, and that's the one I was reffering to.
-
In doing some measurements, it looks like this is still too wide in the PCboard, and too short side to side for the opening. I had found one that was the correct screen size/color, but the PCboard would be in the way of the rocker switch and the left side of the panel...
-
I'd say you have a winner there!

Deadman, any idea where the best place is to buy the standby avionics (alt, VVI, airspeed...)? The only place I've found that does USB versions instead of actual aircraft avionics is at simkits.
-
It's a little pricey, but here's something I've been looking at for the altimeter... along with the VVI and a few others (even the compass looks good). http://www.simkits.com/product.php?prodid=1008

Haha, good to know. Yes I can send to Switzerland, but oddly enough it's a higher cost, by about 6€, than the rest of the EU. Either way, if you buy them, we'll get them to you the cheapest route which is what we're striving for.

CH being... china, chile...?

As far as I know, anywhere in Europe. There are some areas that would be a little more in the shipping cost. Anyone in Germany would be the cheapest, and from there the cost would go up slightly, but from my calculations, you're only talking a couple dollars more for out to the outsides of the EU. Kind of nice living here sort of in the middle. EDIT: I'll work up a shipping list from here to each country with a basic weight of 5 panels (can you weigh 5 for me, and figure a little extra for the package), and let you know what it would come out to. This way it'll make it easier for calculating the final shipping costs per person. EDIT - 2: I can ship to anywhere in the European Union (within reason, some areas do not apply) as per the EU listing. I'm also able to ship to other countries on this side of the world, but it would cost a little extra from the buyer. All-in-all, it'll be cheaper for those here in the EU to have it shipped to me first... as savings of up to $30 per person.
-
Pit, I'm definitely going to purchase panels from you. I'm considering setting up a distribution for group buys if anyone lives in Europe and is looking to buy these from you. Basically, anyone that orders the panels here in the EU will pay a rated shipping cost, which will be cheaper depending on how many people. The more that live in europe that buy the panels, the cheaper shipping is per person, and will reduce the overall costs to all of us. So folks that live here in Europe, if you want these panels, buy them from Pitbldr, he'll ship them to me, and I'll get them to you as soon as I get them.

Where do you mean? In the ME you can add squadrons... but if you are talking about in the logbook section, I still haven't figured that part out.
-
I knew that looked familiar somewhere. Here's a picture of me with my jet. Funny thing was, I punched out at about 200ft AGL, heard the jet bounce and actually saw it land as I was getting out of my chute.

75th & 76th FS Skins
hog_driver111th replied to Snoopy's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Great catch, that's what I'm using as a background... it's similar, but there's nothing copied over... for example, the scale is way off, so doing a 1-1 image doesn't work. Also, due to the way the texture files are (as you know), nothing lines up perfectly. Everything I'm doing with mine is a complete redo of what he made up... but I think it looks great. -
75th & 76th FS Skins
hog_driver111th replied to Snoopy's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Paulrkiii, I should post pics of the 76th skin I'm working on for my 76th TFS Virtual squadron. It really looks badass. I'm doing it all by hand, using a warthog skull on the nose, and stuff from my virtual squadron. First one is of me (CO, closest to camera) and my XO. The second picture, as you can see has a light grey skull, is the line jet for the rest of the squadron. I still have a ways to go to get it all to line up just right, but here's what I have. -
Aircraft components can fail even on brand new aircraft. I was a ramp agent for a brand new 737 BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) from here in Berlin heading back stateside. It was on its Third flight, basically (only 3 days old). The passenger... Boeing's Vice President Mr. Bell. Anyway, the plane taxiied to the runway (07 at EDDB) and had a generator failure. Fortunately they were able to repair it, but Mr. Bell took a different flight out since the plane had to sit around for a day or two being fixed.... and this from a 3 day old airplane. Granted, in a sim we should be able to turn that sort of stuff off... it's a pain to start a mission and the first time in the jet I get the CADC failure or something else not working.

Haven't seen the doors open, but it would be awesome if since they do sort of have it included, to let us open all the doors (even the underside door for reloading the gun). Edit: didn't see your other post asking for this same thing.
