Hi All, After spending a bunch of hours getting back into DCS and configuring my HP Reverb G2, I've just noticed that panning left / right and forward / back moves the world camera(?) instead of the pilot head / camera, i.e. the world camera is locked to the movement of my HMD. For the life of me I can't figure out what I've done to cause this, any help would be appreciated. Cheers

vr Настройки Bignewy Reverb G2 для высокой частоты кадров
SimHog replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Virtual Reality
Cheers for the replies all, but I had PEBKAC moment I forgot to reduce the SteamVR resultion multiplier Using the F16 - Cold and Dark Start mission on Syria I'm now getting stable 45 fps / 16ms over Incirlik, and 75fps / 10ms over open terrain. -
vr Настройки Bignewy Reverb G2 для высокой частоты кадров
SimHog replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Virtual Reality
So just to clarify something ... Syria, no matter what I try it's just a slide show, so I'm assuming its a "no go" map for VR? Edit: for others veiwing this comment - I forgot to reduce SteamVR resultion multiplier. -
Yeah ... Just done a little experiment using the G2 without the face plate attached, it's definately the cause of the issue I'm having with the sweet spot, the FOV was also much higher. The faceplate is definately a poor design in my opinion.

Music to my eyes, I didn't know that, I'll need to look into it, thanks.

For me coming from a CV1 to the G2. Positves: The G2 is lightweight. I couldn't believe how much lighter it was compared to the CV1. The G2 resultion is, I think it goes without saying ... OMG! Negatives: I've got a decent sized head and the G2 face mask / frame is way too narrow for me, especially compared to the CV1. I get constant pressure around my eye sockets to the point where I have to stop. I'm investigating the feasiablility of 3D printing a wider frame. Probably due to the above, the G2's central focal area (sweet spot) where everything is clear is smaller than the CV1, i.e. looking peripherally, the CV1 has a larger area / zone where the image is in focus compared to the G2. The software setup for DCS is very cumbersom - Windows Mixed Reality, Steam VR, then DCS itself - too many levers to pull to get it going just right.

Just to clarify the NVIDIA control panel settings: Let the 3D application decide - The app / game will override NVIDIA control panel settings e.g. Both DCS World and NIVIDA control panel have settings for Anisotropic Filtering. Using this option, DCS Worlds's settings for AF will override NVIDIA control panel settings. Use the advanced 3D image settings - Here you take control of the settings via a pre-defined profile or you can create your own. Your selections will override NVIDIA control panel OR any DCS World settings depending on the selections you make. Use my preference emphasising ... - Here NVIDIA control panel will override the above two, and will adjust the settings based on the slider choice. You can't tweak these settings, well not without messing with registry entries I think, something I wouldn't do. When tweaking for VR performance you'll need to use "Use the advanced 3D image setting" as per BigNewy's Reverb G2 thread.

The question I have is did anyone need to upgrade their PSU to accommodate the 3090? Would 850W be sufficient?

Thanks IronMike ... have replied as well.

At this time the discount is NOT being applied at check-out, so it's just a waiting game I think. -
XE.com provide market exchange rates, Banks and PayPal don't follow them - xe.com -> 1 AUD = 0.682907 USD ANZ: AUD $1.00 = USD $0.6619 CommBank: AUD $1.00 = USD $0.6534 Westpack: AUD $1.00 = USD $0.6463 NAB: AUD $1.00 = USD $0.6537 Edit ... the kit I selected was with the extension. Yeah I saw that post, which is hopeful. I'm not fussed if there's a delay, but it would be nice to at least get a notification.

Can I get some assistance with my shirt? I've emailed support twice over the last 2 weeks with no reply. I received my confirmation email that it was "On Its Way" back on the 7th May, but to date ( 2019-10-12 AEST ) I haven't received the shirt, nor any updates via email or SMS. Is there are delay of some kind? How were they shipped? Was it shipped with a tracking number?

Replacing TM Warthog Throttle Boat Switch
SimHog replied to SimHog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Found the solution, jewelers pin punch set. -
Hi All, Need some advice ... The boat switch has died on my TM Throttle and in order to replace it I have to desolder the switches from the PCB and get the 'Hat' off. What is the best way to remove the metal pin in the hat itself?

The Need for Force Feedback
SimHog replied to Maksim Savelev's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you so much for taking the time to arrange this, it is something that is LONG overdue in the flight sim market. Your point about the racing sim market being flooded with FFB compared to the sim market is spot on. If VKB / Virpil were to release a FFB base - THAT DOESN'T USE GEARS!!!! Hint! - I'd be smashing that "Add To Cart" button right now! -
The Need for Force Feedback
SimHog replied to Maksim Savelev's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For the F-16 it's a little different, the stick is basically a force feedback sensor with very small amount of movement, kind of like FFB in reverse. There is already a device available that mimics the F-16 mechanism for the consumer market. http://www.realsimulator.com/html/fssb_r3_lighting.html -
If there are glaring differences then yes absolutely. However saying aircraft X is out turing aircraft Y because it's doesn't match the charts is not enough, there's too many factors at play to just come out say it's wrong, e.g. was the test done with a human opponent or AI? What's the skill level of the pilot conducting the test? etc. etc. And if all things are equal - simply submit a bug report. :joystick:
