  1. Thanks for the heads up, order cancelled for now!
  2. Getting this ready for the Hornet? :)
  3. Got to say that your commitment to building and then troubleshooting this mission is great. You're both a credit to the community!
  4. With all the new modules on the way like the MIG-21, T-2, etc I can foresee a lot more mission designers building scenarios from the 70's & 80's for example. To make the task of placing units easier, I'd like to request an optional filter to be added to the Mission Editor where you enter the date of the mission as you normally would, and it then applies a filter against the available units so that only those available during that time period are shown to make building them a lot simpler. For example, mission date set to 1975, then no A-10C, F-15C, MIG-29, SU-27, SU-33, etc, but also no SA-10, SA-11, BMP-2, T-80 and so on...
  5. I'm sorely tempted to buy a dev kit... even though it will be potentially useless when the production version comes out, I just NEED it!
  6. Great work MBot, what I really like is that you've painstakingly added descriptions and explanations to the script to help 'hacks' like me figure out what does what and make simple adjustments!
  7. Gotta add that I love your scripting skills! I've hacked around with it to customize some of Version 2's options, and merged it into a mission with Deck's Huey drop script and we had a ball this weekend with some A-10 and Combined arms players and it fits into almost any scenario. Excellent job, looking forward to testing out version 3!
  8. All of the above, I've getting bored of the AI co-pilot trying to fly the aircraft into the closest obstacle whenever I'm not at higher altitudes. I always stabilize the flight parameters before engaging, and sometimes it's great and he fly's the helicopter nice and stable when I gave him control, but quite often he dumps the collective and dives like we're in an auto-rotation...
  9. No it's still not been approved on the DCS site yet... :(
  10. Tromac, Love your work, but rather than creating 50 different skins to accommodate users preferences, could you leave the numbering to the bort number specified in the Mission Editor?
  11. I use a 40" Samsung LED @ 1920x1080 @60Hz and I love it and will never go back to a monitor again... As was mentioned earlier, size really does matter :)
  12. Agreed that it is a much more rounded experience since the update, and she now only slaps you in the face you if you mistreat her rather than ripping your head off like it used to with the older flight model :) Thanks for all your efforts.
  13. I've seen the same behaviour, except it only started happening after the aircraft was repaired following a broken rotor. It stopped shaking after getting the engine started and up to 6600 RPM. yrYWBwFCzt0
  14. Well it looks like the tinkering and modding of various files has come back and bit me in the butt. I've now done a fresh and clean install and taken the Huey out for a spin offline and online and she behaves more 'in the middle' of the two videos. Not as easy to control as in the first, but nowhere close to as difficult as the online video from before. No idea what I had done to make it behave so differently, but at least it's consistent now, here is a video of how she behaves now when online: FDEKbJyea28
  15. I'll check, you never know what creeps in, but I've always flows with the default 'Simulator' selection box at the bottom of the page.
  16. I've also noted another strange behavior in that when I set the trim in offline mode, the stick's center position is moved to where it was when the trim was set, but in Multiplayer it isn't and only seems to set a portion of that movement. Fox example, when setting the initial take off trim I pulled the stick back and to the left to the approximate hover area and hit the force trim, but it only set the x co-ordinate and not the y! I'm going to clean it out and perform a fresh installation of 1.2.4 later and see how that works.
  17. I've tested this on a few servers now and have the same result regardless of the ping rate and FPS with a saved version of the servers mission as well, although that's not the same in this example. Here are a couple of videos that I recorded to show the contrast in behaviors. Here is the Single Player offline flight around an airfield: ASdOKVAN7Sg Single player flight is very smooth, control inputs are constant but subtle and you can see that it is easy to maintain controlled flight. Here is the Multiplayer Server online flight around an airfield: sVg5-WrLcAs In multiplayer the flight is not smooth and you can see from the control inputs that I'm constantly stirring the pot to try and maintain controlled flight, and the control inputs seem to be much more exaggerated and laggy and it makes it almost impossible to anticipate the helicopters drift. I'm hoping that it is a configuration issue that I have or something that has come up through patch to patch as I've come up through DCS World versions. On the same server at the weekend, other players in the squadron didn't have the same problems.
  18. So my FPS offline was around 22, but on the server with only a 165 ping tonight the FPS was 35. It seems that my control movements are more exaggerated when online than in single player. I'll investigate further.
  19. I'll check tonight, but visually the FPS was good with no stuttering or noticeable difference.
  20. I'm having a ball with the Huey, and can hold a steady hover happily in single player, but things change when going out onto the internet for a multi-player session. I have found that when I go online to a server and fly exactly the same mission that I have been flying offline, there is a slight delay in the control inputs and this makes hovering a lot more difficult to near impossible in some situations. Ping to the server was around 250ms on a 20Mbps down, 1.5Mbps up connection, and flying other DCS modules didn't seem to suffer from the problem.
  21. Honestly, I love it the way it is, don't change anything... I'm flying with a Warthog HOTAS and have spent the last couple of hours hover taxiing around Kobeleti, Batumi and the deck of the Carl Vinson. It will take practice, patience and a lot of attention to detail, but once you learn how to control her as slow speed, you'll be ready for all of the wonderful scenarios the Mission Designers dream up.
  22. Yep +1 here, loving the handling characteristics, reminds me of my younger years :)
  23. I'm on the pre-order list for an email code to download as soon as it's out :)
