Tjena Linden, thats a good link for the Swedes in the community. And Aeroscout, what's with the comment man? How should he have posted it?

Agreed, Gunship 2000 was fantastic. Particularly like the load-out menu. LHX attack chopper was also enjoyable, though much lighter. Think it had EGX graphics. Lol. GS2000: Love those explosions!!

I looked around for about 15 minutes and couldn't find any, though I'm sure I will find some with further searching :)

Found it. Jetfighter II. It was a really sweet game. More @ Migman.

TouchBuddy Toolkit 1.3.4 Released!
dodger42 replied to Wild.Bill.Kelso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Nice one WBK! :) For those interested, remember: You do NOT need a touchscreen to try Touch-Buddy  -
Sure, but how many dollars would it take to license the terrain and visuals so a company like ED or XSI could then add realism? These guys should license the graphics. Would be nice to see flighstim companies focus on the realism components: AI, flight models, weapons, weather etc. Visuals could then be left to the companies who develop for the mass markets like the one in this thread.

Are you using a cougar? I had a few occasions where I had to reflash the config to the cougar mid game. Not good when you're in a scrap.

I used to go to meghead all the time. Was probably the best computer store in Sydney :) How long did you work there? I remember the faces of most of the staff.. why did meghead shut down?

Big deal on the laser guided bomb capability. How are the US going to insert special forces onto 747's in mid flight anymore? -
OOh that looks awesome, and they have a pre-load system. And full availability on the 21st :)

Killing time waiting for BS or other games.... has anybody tried played BattleStations? http://www.battlestations.net/home/

Something like BF2 with much less arcade and much more simulation. Then you'd have air, sea and land.

Confirmation: RAAF Super Hornets
dodger42 replied to Camoman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Sorry but although your analysis of the two air forces might be correct, the statement that Indonesia is not the Australian's threat is completely incorrect. -

Shame the F22 was not an option. Probably only need a few of those to defeat the Indonesian air force. Would that be a deterrent or a provocation? -
triplehead done in software called "softTH"
dodger42 replied to G3's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
True you could do that too. Does anybody recall a project from a while back that projected video onto a dome in wich the cockpit sat? From memory it wasnt military/government, but some extreme hobbyist. No doubt a marriage breaker though! Something like this, but was more hobbyist: http://www.cae.com/www2004/Products_and_Services/Military_Simulation_and_Training/Equipment_and_Technology/Visual_Training_Solutions/Display_Systems/dome.shtml -

Well again, it aint exactly cheap, but it's not so bad. For example, on their site: Stratosphere Express Triple-slot PCI Express graphics Support for 2 to 6 screens Intel Pentium 4 or Pentium D processor Aluminum-clad chassis with covered drives Starting at $1,999 Obviously you would also need the three PCI Express video cards. So thats like another 1500. So say $3500 for the computer, + 5k for the screens. 8.5k and probably $500,000 in labour figuring out how to make the damn thing work with lockon :) It also comes with a pretty cool looking multi monitor management utility: http://www.digitaltigers.com/zenview-manager.shtml -

Although 5k is still a fair chunk of change, I thought this display setup would be more like 15k. Gotta love commoditisation. -

True, but it would make one helluva TB setup (line in the middle is not so critical) if you put them below your 1080p LCD screen and added touch-screen overlays. Like a glass cockpit :) But the ultimate would be something like this: Check it here: http://www.digitaltigers.com/zenview-powerscape-ultrahd.shtml -
Black Shark Update, 16 September 2007
dodger42 replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Cool to actually hear from the production team. I guess the statement about a possible 2007 release means it may be 2008 (or 2009) :) But presumably the last quarter of 2007. That begs the question, is Wags speaking in Calendar 07 or FY07? Lol.. -
Release of new Virtual Panel v.1.2.1!

I was amongst a group that looked at custom building joystick heads for the cougar base. It's far from a trivial project (in itself), but would be an awesome addition for die hard fans. Here are some resources worth reading: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=98112 HiRevSims used to have the full process documented and screenies, but they seem to have taken it down. (Bummer). Good luck and hope it works out.

Unusual layout for the rocket launchers. Looks like they could have fit 1 or 2 more at least.
